Don't ya just hate it when you've been diligent and down for two weeks, then one dinner pops ya back up?! Even knowing its temporary, its like "ah geez..can;t you be nice to me Mr Scale? Just once..?!"

I think we've ALL "Been There, Done that"! The important part is to look at how often that carrot cake lures you, or other "just once" splurges...heck, even a ham dinner will effect my scale for a few days...and something like a day of extra exercise will have me retaining water and up goes my scale. Usually just temporarily. Be patient, and don't add the weight of guilt to your Journey!! emoticon

Just a question for you to think about... no need to answer it here!

Do you keep track of daily weights, and if so, do you see a semi-regular cycle of up a pound or two, then back down, then up, etc over a two week period?
Also... depending upon your age...still have menstrual swings?

I certainly notice the above in my own journey. So I actually keep track on a chart(not "religiously" though) and average my weight over a week's time. That's the way I can actually see a trend week to week.... If you haven't done that, you might try it for a few weeks just to get in tune with your own biologic cycles.

I noticed that my digestive tract seems to hold contents longer, and then my weight drops magically a few days later. It happens if I've been sedentary more (like traveling for 2 days in a car), or the exact opposite: more active than usual. So its a constant up/down/up/down...and when I'm paying attention, the average slowly moves down!! A single "point in time" weigh in doesn't give you that insight.

I've also never figured out how Mother Nature --Always-- has my weight go up 2 lbs for any doctor appt I've scheduled??! LOL Have a great day, and keep at it!!

PS...hope you can get your sleep better soon. That has a definite effect upon weight. there are some good articles and even a Spark Official Sleep Challenge you could look into....

The scale told me carrot cake is not worth it. Disappointed with myself in a sense but then it was good and there is no more. Starting a new week with my new food guide. Should be interesting. I also changed my "other goals" Having a lot of problem sleeping - only 3 hours last night and being generous!
