Hi,
I had my Pulmonary Emboli March 4, 2005.
Went off Warfarin 11/06 and back on 3/07 when doctor said I should be on for the rest of my life.
Sometimes it feels like a boring roller coaster when my INR goes up and down, but mostly I am just Happy to have found SparkPeople.
I miss eating greens also. About Tues of this week my INR was so high I was able to eat both broccoli and cole slaw. It tasted better than Ice cream (and I LOVE ice cream!)
My maternal uncle and my paternal aunt both are on Coumadin for life.
My mom actually needs Vitamin K which she gets through alfalfa pills, etc or she just bleeds and bleeds.
Welcome!

Whew, I should have known there would be a team that included those on blood thinners but I guess I didn't look hard enough! Been a member of sp for two weeks now. I can't endorse it enough. The support and motivation I receive is overwhelming.
I had a DVT in March 2006. I work on my feet full time and in fact had worked 56 hours the week I was diagnosed. My Dr. reccomed I stay on Warfarin for the long haul as I have a family history of clotting. My MoM passed this August 2007. She battled clots for the last several years.
I LOVE spinach and other leafy greens and miss them. I also take lovastatin and can't have grapefruit. I also have a hankerin' for ruby reds! LOL
Oh well, we do what we have to or what we can. It's a pleasure to meet you All.
