Right now I'm not on any coumadin and it is heaven! But when I was, it would be at like a 2 one time and then it would be lower the next. I think that if I would have been more consistent on the time during the day that I took it that would have helped.

I have been on blood thinners for about two months so far...for the last month my levels have been pretty steady. They said they aim for between 2-3 and I have been hitting that mark each time. I take 5mg of Coumdain every other day and then 7.5 mg the other days. I wonder why your levels skip around so much. How long have you been on the meds?

Peace, Love and Happiness.

LOL.....that's true. I just don't think I'd do well as a single parent. I totally take my hat off to people that are.

So I'm curious, because my INR levels never seemed to be in the right range, but how are yours? Did they get the dosage right so that you are consistant?

Nah you don't need to be married or a guy to have a baby, just some sperm, lol. But I completely understand what you are saying. Being married was a priority to me as well before having a baby. Take care of yourself! :)

I totally understand that you are willing to do whatever it takes to get a healthy baby. And to have to take a shot once a day really isn't that bad, I'm just not in the same place as you. I should really find a guy and get married before I consider having a baby. LOL ;) Anyway, good luck and keep up the great work!

The Lovenox injections are really not too bad. The worst part of it is the stinging sensation when the medicine goes in and it lasts about 5 seconds total. The needles are really short and I really didn't feel them going in. Plus, if getting a shot everyday means I will have a Preeclampsia free pregnancy and a healthy, live baby at the end of it, then I will gladly suffer. :)

Peace, Love and Happiness.

I was on Coumadin and Lovenox at the very beginning when the DVT was found. But I only had to take both for about the first week, then I was on Coumadin for 6 months. I had to take it because I have Factor V. I feel really blessed to be off of coumadin. I know that when I do get pregnant, which won't be for a while, I'll have to take Lovenox during the pregnancy. I'm not a fan of needles and the thought of having to poke myself at least once a day for 9 months isn't very appealing. :)
Anyway, it's nice to meet you as well. Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the information. I was aware that getting pregant on coumadin is bad news. My hematologist told me he expects to be taking me off coumadin around the middle of August...so once we are ready to start trying again I won't be on it. However because of my clotting disorder, once I do get pregnant again I will be starting Lovenox injections again. Were you on Coumadin and Lovenox because of the clotting disorder or a preganacy? Nice to meet you. I look forward to chatting more. Take care, :)

Peace, Love and Happiness.

I am so sorry to hear about your pregnancy. I can't even imagine having to deliver a baby early and then it be still born....so sorry!!

I have Factor V as well, heterozygous. I was on coumadin for 6 months but am currently off of it. It is a wonderful feeling. Are you aware that you can not be pregnant while on coumadin? It can very dangerous for the baby. When you conceive, the doctors will probably have you take Lovenox shots because you'll be a high risk pregnancy.

Anyway, welcome to the team and let me know if you need anything or have any questions.

Keep up the great work!!

Hi. I just wanted to share my story and how I came to this group. I developed preeclampsia two months ago. I was 22 weeks pregnant at the time. I had to deliver my daughter, Madelyn and she was stillborn. While in the hospital it was discoverd that I had Heterozygous Leiden Factor V...I am sure some of you are aware of that clotting disorder. I had pic lines put in both arms..one at a time, and they kept clotting off. Once they removed them,I developed blood clots in my right arm. I was put on Lovenox injections and Coumadin. I am now off the Lovenox, but will continue the Coumadin for 6 months. I am hoping to start trying to conceive again around late August/Early September. I also am on meds for high blood pressure. I really want to lose a lot of the pregnancy weight I have put on, so that with this next pregnancy I am the healthiest I can be. I look forward to meeting all of you and wish everyone luck in their weight loss journey. :)

Peace, Love and Happiness.
