Yea, that's what's been holding me back too is the $. I just need to suck it up and order one though.

Yea, you definitely should. Between the lortab and the soma for me those helped tremendously with the pain. Of course, the soma knocked me out so much I spent 80% of the day sleeping. But then again, it's better than lying awake and hurting! Good luck at the doctors and let me know what they say!

I will have to ask today for a med to control the pain. They gave me NOTHING!! I have to be my own advocate in this thing I see.

The medalert bracelets are expensive! They have a couple that are reasonable, but I need waterproof and not too girly - those are about $75 and up! Ouch!

I know I have to get :(

I remember that pain all to well. What are they giving you to manage the pain? I was living on Lortab and Soma during my pain periods. Which they, of course, affect your coumadin levels. Fortunately once they admitted me to the hospital and started the herprin injections within about a week my pain disapated. And once I left the hospital from that point forward I was on the warfin/coumadin.

You know, I still haven't bought mine yet. I really need to just suck it up and order one myself.

Thank you so much - I got your "goodie" - it really made my day!

Last night was not so great - the pain in my left side was worse and I am scared it is another clot. I don't if it is just in my mind or if it is real. It is nice to know someone else who is going through what I am going through. None of my family or friends (G-d love them) have a clue - they try but think that all should be better since they "caught the blood clot" in time and I am on blood thinners. But I feel like my whole life has stopped and everything has changed.

Today I will order my medalert bracelet - I know I need it but have been reluctant to get it. I think by buying one I will really have to face what is happening to me out loud and am not really ready to do so......

Your symptoms sound EXACTLY the same as what happened to me. I guess it helps to you know that you are defintiely not alone. It took about 5 weeks before I actually found a doctor who gave a durn. So basically 5 weeks of excruiating pain and one hospitalization later I finally got to where I could start moving around again once the pain started subsiding. I felt like my legs were atrophied and I'm still not back to "normal". I'm not sure normal even exists anymore.

Just keep your chin up. I know it's hard but things will get better and hopefully soon for you. Let me know if you need to talk or vent. ((HUGS))

I was diagnosed with a "calf strain" in the being of Jan 2009. After several weeks it did not get better. I was still on crutches and it was very swollen. I went back to the Dr who had a very nasty attitude "I guess we'll have to do an ultrasound" she said. (I have a new dr now) They found a DVT in my left leg on Jan 27th and I have been in a terible funk ever since. I cannot work ( I teach water aerobics for a living) so I have been sitting in my home waiting for my test results, eating and eating. I am taking Coumadin 1.5 tablets and I am only at 1.3!!! I need to get back to work, but I am not "theraputic" I am also afraid and depressed. My DH does not understand, he tries but has not a clue. Just reading ths posts from you all helps.

I need to exercise... what is safe? How much? Do any of you do aerobics? How much is safe?

Thank you for being here.... I thought I was sooo desperate and alone in this....
