Hi Everyone! My name is Amy and I'm a 33-year-old mother of 3. I think I've been on a year-long plateau because my weight fluctuates the same 5 pounds! So frusterating. But if I look closely, I think it's the snack here and there that does it. I workout pretty hard 5 to 6 times per week and I accomplished my first half marathon in October (with no walking or stopping allowed)!
I think this is going to be a great team and I can't wait to join in on the challenges!

Reaching your goals takes time. Reaching the impossible takes a little longer.

My name is Beautynsuhine real name Carrie C. When i started this journey in 2009 I was at my highest of 265 pds. Along the way i have joined Jenny Craig and Curves. Both of them offered me a great opportunity to start moving forwards. Just last week I hit a huge milestone in my journey and that was when i weighed in at 187.0 pds. I did a happy dance that lasted into this weekend. am still very happy with the the success I have had and will continue to go the distance until i reach my final goal of 165 pounds

I hope to get to know all of you in this group. Hi all!

Hi. I've just signed up. It's not so much that I used to eat very badly but, I do now. LOL My class drives me nuts and makes me crave guilty foods. I've gone a few pounds up and down but, can't seem to move around those numbers very much.

My name's Kryssie. I'm trying to start up my own business which consists of an e-commerce site as well as public speaking. I'd also like to run and finish the LA Marathon in 2012 (I mean, the world's supposed to explode that year, anyway, so why not really go out with a bang!) emoticon

Other than that, I'm an MMO player and such. Used to do a bunch of activities, back when I had a stable income. Self-employment can be quite difficult to start!

Hello all,

I am a newly single 32 year old with a wonderful 15 year old girl.... OK OK she is a dog.... but to me she is a daughter. I have a job that I love!!!!! but my schedule makes it more of a challenge to eat right (or at home) and get in work out time. I went from a size 2 to a size 14 as my life got more stressful... I have gotten down to a 12, but want to get healthy and fit again... I don't think that I want go back to being a 2, but I want to get back to shape that don't make me want to cry in a swim suit. I want to get fit and stay fit for life. I WILL be the crazy old Aunt who take her
nephews and nieces white water rafting in Colorado at 70.

Hello everyone! I am a 35-yr old mom of a 15-yr old athletic son & 10-yrs married to my dream guy. This year I quit my full-time job & to work back in our small Iowan town, for our city. I also started my own at home business. I have gone from a size 1-2 to a 12 and am eager to get back to single digets!!! My son's activeness encourages me to be fit as well as the new business. The past 6-weeks I have lost 4lbs & I just needed that extra "SPARK" of encouragement & guidence to get me to my target. Thanks for being available!

Hi I'm La. I'm a stay-at-home mom to three kids (8, 4, and 1). I stay busy with a direct sales business, PTA and school volunteer work, and a couple of moms' clubs for social interactions. At my heaviest in spring 2010 I was 181 pounds and a size 16. I lost a few pounds on my own but then decided to join Jenny Craig this summer. I lost about 17 pounds on that during the first 12 weeks. I'm finishing up the second 12 weeks and have lost nothing. My motivation has just been sagging. So here I am. I'm pretty new to SparkPeople and like others am looking for support. I want to dance at my grandkids' weddings and meet my great grandkids. I would also love to reduce the amount of blood pressure medication I have to take.

Hey hey, I'm Jennifer. I'm a married housewife, and I'm looking to lose rather quickly (yet safely) 30 pounds by the end of December/January. We are TTC and I need to be a certain weight in order to do IUI's for conception. I have PCOS. It's a been a long year and a half, with my sugery, miscarriage, and weightloss (I was at 398, now down to 303) but I wish I'd have lost more. Hello, my name is Lisa, I'm 34 years old, and I'm about 30 pounds overweight. It'll be a long road to get it all off, but I'm ready to start. I can't use my kids as an excuse anymore.
I am an off and on runner who's been more off than on lately and know what I need to do to eat healthy, it's the easily convenient junk food that I tend to have problems with......and lack of exercise.

I look forward to getting this done and learning how to eat healthier for myself as well keep my family on a healthier diet.

Hi! My name is Kristy and I am 31 years old and desperately want to lose some weight. I was laid off in June and became depressed. I was making excuses everyday to be lazy. But now I am motivated to get going again cause I am not depressed anymore since I just got a call last week about a new job. Hopefully I will be starting next week. Hi all! Just getting around to this, apologize. :) I am 31, just got married the end of August, have 2 step kids but none of my own yet..but hoping to get to a healthier weight so I can do that.
I am definitely an emotional or bordeom eater, and its even harder for me sometimes because my hubby and step kids are beans poles. So there is plenty of junk food, but I try to have my own cabinet so I dont even have to really get in theirs.
I like my evening wine or red beers, and I have a sweet tooth. But I try to maintain a grip somewhat. Its odd, I drink water...love veggies...and dont cook that unhealthy really. But need to work on portion control, better snack choices, and definitely more exercise (which I just dont enjoy alone). So thats me in a nutshell :)

I am in the same boat! I was 136lbs. when I got pregnant with my first daughter....150 when I got pregnant with my second and now weigh 170. I just keep gaining...and I can't shed the pounds!!! It's so frustrating to see people who had a baby only a few months ago to look better than me, who had her second 15 months ago!!!

My name is Nata, live in TN, trying to loose 33-35 lbs. Have been gradually gaining weight since I had my son - right after pregnancy I was around 135-137, then gradually gained weight. That was very upsetting, because I was a very slim pregnant woman (148 lbs with the baby:). All the ladies who really gained weight while pregnant managed to loose it, not me, I gained A LOT:) Now I am 162-168, depending on a day. Want to get back to my "post-baby" weight of 135:)

Hi everyone!

I'm recently married, and have put on about 15 pounds in the last 5 months. My clothes are getting seriously uncomfortable.

I lost about 25 pounds on WW about 4 years ago, but hit a plateau and kind of gave up. It's been a roller coaster of re-gain, then re-lose. I know this is NOT healthy, and it's time to make some PERMANENT changes. It's just a matter of figuring out HOW.

My current strategy is to log in to SP every day and to write down everything I eat, even if it means going over my daily calories and having a record of it it my tracker.

emoticon Hello! This is my first time posting. I used SP to help me lose 30+ pounds about 4 years ago. Unfortunately, I regained the weight (+ a few more pounds). I started losing weight (again) in May, and I am now more than halfway to my lofty goal of 70 pounds(yeah!), so I figure with only 29 pounds left to lose, this is my group.

The South Beach way of eating tends to work best for me since I am a natural born sugar/carb junkie. Now that I am eating more healthy whole foods, I no longer have to take my high blood pressure meds!! Per my doc, my blood pressure is now excellent.

I was doing great at exercising this summer, but my motivation seems to be waning. I figured being more active on the SparkTeams might help. :)

Hello! I just started today. I am 31 and looking to get back to my "before kids" body! :) I am just tracking my calories and getting back to exercising. I joined Crossfit some time ago but I started a new job about a month ago and am trying to work out my new schedule. Hi! I'm Beth and I live in Rotterdam, Netherlands for a few years. I am 30 and need to lose a little over 30 lbs. I thought I'd lose weight fairly easily coming over here (moved here from Kodiak, Alaska this summer) since we walk or ride bikes most of the time, but the cheese, chocolate, beer and wine have hindered that. I need to learn more moderation. I also have some health issues going on - too many to list for being so young - that I'm hoping diet and exercise can change.

Hey I'm Mona from the Arizona in the USA. My friend Amy suggested this site so I'm trying it. So far I'm impressed. Lets see how it goes. I want to lose weight because frankly I want to look better naked.
That's the main reason but I've been more motivated lately because I also want to show a healthy example for my kids. I have 3. I just graduated with an associates degree in occupational sciences and am working in an out-patient peds clinic which I love. The stress of school cause be to weigh 260 pounds in January. I weight 240 now and I wanted to be under 200 by the new year but I'd rather lose weight slowly and keep it off then fast and gain it right back.
So this is me.

I'm Sarah I just joined a few days ago. I've done the weightloss thing before. As you get older weight just doesn't come off how it used to. I'm worried about diabetes, and other diseases caused by being overweight. Since diabetes and heart problems run in the family. I did WeightWatchers. It worked wonderful but was a bit maddening with the points. Lost weight wonderful it worked great. Then they changed their diet completely and I just couldn't get the hang of it. Gradually gained some of the weight back. I didn't do the meetings. I did it all online. I decided why pay for something when it just isn't working? I got down to 164 which was a few pounds away from my goal weight. So lately I've been doing everything free hand without the points. I managed to lose 2lbs so far. I learned about sparkpeople.com from reading community message boards on Weightwatchers from people that use both sites and then my manager told me about it too and she uses it as well. So here I am. Everything is going great so far. emoticon

Hello Everyone,

I just recently turned 37 and have been trying for the last 11 years since to get back to pre-baby weight. I was always on the thin side until after the birth of my first child. I started working out 3 days a week and dropped 30 plus pounds in 6 months time. However, that was back in my twenties when it was easier to do. Then I became pregnant again with child number 2 and mainted my weight pretty good with that preganancy. It was after that the weight started piling up again preventing number 3. I have been struggling with that weight gain for the last 11 years. Its time to lose it once and hopefully for all.

hi, you know, I can't even remember if I posted in this group or not. There are so many teams! Well.....if this is a duplicate I'm sorry.

My name is Donna and I'm barely a 30 something. I'll be 39 in Nov. I was always a rail in my family surrounded by mostly over weight family members. I was actually underweight and my dr was having me count calories and take protein powder to make sure I got enough nutrients. Anyway, soon after I hit 30 I started to gain a little at a time until suddenly I looked like my mom Ah!!!!!!!!!!

So now I've hit the breaks and I'm trying to get healthier. About 3 weeks ago I started the Ideal protein diet and I've lost 10 lbs total. 5 since joining SP. I've got a long way to go but I know I can get there with patience and if I avoid going out to eat, looking at magazines with ads for everything yummy, avoid TV commercials, avoid shopping for groceries (I send my husband) and avoid co-workers who bring in cookies and other goodies. I'll just live in a potato sack LOL

Hi everyone,
I am 30, with over 30 to lose. Like everyone, I have tried different diets, but was never able to stick to one for long. The longest I did follow a diet was two months. I lost 30 pounds very very fast on an accupressure diet, but in one and a half year, I have put all but one pound back on! Luckily the day I weighed myself and found out I was 178 again, I also found Sparkpeople. We all know what to eat and what not to eat, but I guess I needed the motivation and the tracking. This time it is "One step at a time" for me. This time, I intend on going all the way! I believe we can all win together. No matter what our reason is to lose the weight, we will do it together!

Hello all. I have been a member for longer than i know but never posted. well i need some motivation.My name is Joni and i live in northern michigan. i work in a laundry for a company with 2 hotels and 4 high class resteraunts. i feel like i need to be challenged cause i am bored. I have a very hecktic life right now also. i have 2 children that live with me one is 11 and one is 6 almost 7. i am attending the university of phoenix online at night. plus working more than full time and caring for a household i imagine like everyone else. im sorry for babbling.

Hi guys--I'm not a very active poster, but I just wanted to introduce myself to the team. I tried Sparkpeople a few years ago and actually lost a bit of weight but then I got a little too comfortable, quit, and the weight came back.

I rejoined a month ago and am proud that I've been sticking to it (mainly due to a medical diagnosis that scared the crap out of me--so that's been a good motivator) and am focusing this time on my health. My strategy is to create my food plan as the last thing before I go to sleep so that I know exactly what I'm eating the next day with no need to think whatsoever. :)

Hi, my name is Kate and I am a thirty-something. ;)
I'm 33 and looking to lose between 28-30 pounds.
This site was suggested to me. I think it will be a great arena to share fitness tips (which I need) and commiserate.

Currently, I am living in Korea and working as an English teacher. Korea is 70% mountains, so as a friend of mine says, "We have a Stairmaster in our back yard." I would like to incorporate more activity into my daily routine. My biggest challenge right now is finding a routine and sticking with it.

I'm happy to be a part of this group.

Hello everyone. :) My name is Fiza and I am 30. I have always been the skinny one in my family but have always been over weight. I had lost 30 pounds two years back following a very strict diet and have put it back on...which is very depressing. BUT...I am here now and intend on making this work. My moto from now on will be one step at a time. No miracles. I didn't put the weight on in a day and shouldn't expect it to disappear over night. Hello, I'm Allison I'll be 30 in about a month!! My high weight was 249(the day I had my lil boy) I lost 70lbs in 7months,held there for about 9months, lost another 20lbs in 4months, only to gain 25lbs over this past year.
I'm working on losing that 25lbs, plus my last 15-20lbs in the next year.

Hi everyone! My name is Lauren. Hy hubby just joined the Army and will be leaving for basic in February, which will leave me in charge of our rambunctious toddler. She is so strong sometimes I feel like she is stronger than me and that scares me. I need to know that while her daddy is away I can take the best care of her! Hey there everyone - I'm Steph. I just turned 30 last month and, this week, was given the chance to review The Flex Diet. I was thrilled because, despite knowing that one should appreciate their curves, I'm still 35 pounds more than I should be, unhappy with my body and... well... I'm trying to get pregnant, and want to be at a healthier weight when I do so. In the very beginning of this diet book, the author suggested that readers join a support group, and this was one of the sites he mentioned.

I gained a good chunk of weight during college, to the point where I never remember being pleased with my weight as an adult -- but the last 5 years or so it's been slowly creeping upward even further. Hi, my name is Carrie and I am an almost 38 year old mother of a 5 year old daughter. I have been married for almost 7 years. I have been teaching for 15 years and this year I am teaching Kindergarten. I have been a SP member since March of this year and have lost 38 pounds so far. Hello everyone! I am 31 years old and have ALWAYS had weight issues. I weighed 140 pounds when I was 10 years old. I have gained and lost weight many times and I am determined that this will be my last time to have to go through this weight loss struggle again. I am addicted to food. I binge eat and I sneak food. Today i have made the decision to love myself more than I love food.
I began my first day of the 30 Day Shred by Jillian Michaels and I feel great for it now! (2 hours ago I felt like Jello and near the point of vomiting) emoticon

Hi, I'm 38, have four children and a wonderful husband, unfortunately he does not want to embark on the weight loss journey with me, he tells me he loves me and he does give me support I just wish he would help me get motivated. I have been on a "diet" for three weeks now and have lost eight pounds, I have given up soda cold turkey and eat no more than 1200 calories a day, sometimes it is really hard. I have joined other fitness groups online but they are not as supportive as they say they are. I hope that I can get support here on my very long journey of weight loss, I have a long way to my goal but I hope to make it. Thanks

I am new to Spark. A friend invited me to join. Still getting used to nagivating through here. I am finding eating healthy a challenge only in that healthy food seems to cost more than the unhealthy kind. So following specific diets/menus is difficult. I think I am also an emotional eater. I've been a member for a while, was really active at the beginning of 2009 and complete fell off!! I really want to lose about 50 lbs., get healthy and stop eating cookies!!! LOL! The recent sudden death of a vibrant, relatively young (about 50) co-worker really put things into perspective for me. I am 33 and hope to live to 103! I'm a 31-year old school teacher who "wasted" away his 20's on video games and junk food. But my wife and I recently welcomed our firstborn son into the world and it totally changed my perspective on my life. I used to get winded just walking up a flight of stairs. How could I chase my kid up and down the beach? I didn't want to be that kind of father.

So... here I am. Looking forward to sharing insights and adventures with you all on the path to better health, and hopefully being here to see my grandkids grow up someday. :)

Hi, team! I recently turned 31 several weeks ago. emoticon This next year will be a big year for me because I got engaged to my longtime best friend/boyfriend of 7 yrs! I've been "trying" to lose about 25-35 lbs since my college years. But, I allowed Life to get in the way over and over again and now feel that I am finally in the right mindset to work on ME. I would have to say that my big motivator is to look beautiful in my wedding dress in Sept. 2011. emoticon Also, I want to be in a healthier, fit state so that I will be in better shape when I become pregnant (down the road).

Hi everyone.. I turned 30 a few months ago and have a bit of weight to lose (not sure how much in pounds but I think it's around the 25 mark - I'm looking to shed maybe 12 kilos). I'm an Aussie girl, and I've always had weight issues - I've never been huge but I've never been slim either. Just once in my life I'd like a summer where I'm happy with the way I look in a bikini!

Hi! I've been a member for ages but lost touch for a while. I like that this board is doing some revamping and would like to get going again while the new things are happening. I am currently reading The Spark, and find it SO inspiring. I need to lose about 50 pounds but am trying to set some realistic smaller goals to start out. 50 pounds just seems like so much. I have motivation issues so I'm really looking for a supportive board that can deal with the occaisional whine! :)

I am Barbara. I have actually been a member for almost 3 years but only recently started posting.

I am 38, married, no kids, 3 dogs, 4 cats, work full time. I don't know why I can not get motivated. I would like to be fit by the time I am 40 next Oct.

I'm Helen and would like to lose about 35 pounds. I have always struggled with my weight and it goes up and down all the time. After my Divorce 3 years ago lost loads of weight from the stress but over the past 18 months have gained all the weight back plus some. This morning was when it really dawned on me that I have to do something after a neighbor asked me if I was expecting a little one.

me to i would like to lose about 45 more pounds and be able to fit into a size 12 again but right now i am in about a 16 and can fit into a 14 and get them button but they are not comfortable. I gained alot of weight when i got married and want to get it off so i am looking for motavation. My husband trys to help but he tells me that i am pretty and that he will love me no matter haow i look. I am doing this for me i am not satisfied with how i look and need to do this. I stopped smoking about 3 years ago and had a hyserectamieand went from 196 to 246 so i am working and got a long way to go. Look me up if you just want to be friends i am also looking for someone to walk with in my area

hello everyone my name is jonathan! I am at about 205 right now and would like to get down to about 175. So strange that i turn thirty and all of a sudden i gain all this weight and am having trouble getting rid or it and have had trouble all summer. Maybe its mental or maybe its the fact that i dont stick to the plan and just start eating whatever tatse good hahah, either way i am here to start a new lifestyle, one that is going to last this time!

I recently relocated myself after a divorce and my mothers' passing back to New Hampshire from Nebraska after living away from my family for the past 13 years. My children (3) live with their father in Nebraska for the school year and with me in the summer (this is better for them educationally --better schools out there!).

I work full time hours crammed into two weekend shifts at a psychiatric neuro-rehabilitation center with teenage boys who have co-occuring behavior issues and brain injury/or disorders.

I have been with SparkPeople for over two years, and I must say that this site has been such a great help to me.

Any questions, just ask. I'm excited to meet all of you!
