Just remember you don't have to do away with all sweets, you just have to plan for them! and not beat yourself up when you slip, cause you will. Nutrition tracker will help with portions too on sweets

Welcome! I'm somewhat new, also. Here in Northeastern Ohio new restaurants are popping up daily. (And I have a husband who loves to "treat" us out for dinner a lot.)I had gained a few pounds in my 40's, but after 50 it seems I gain about a pound or more a month!! It's the eating out for sure, and my will power to say "no" to sweets is gone. A friend told me about Sparks. The information on this web sight has been a tremendous help. It was good to see that there were others in the same boat. I thought I ate healthy until I used the nutrition tracker. You will find it a big help. Good Luck!

Using the nutrition tracker will help you see what you are eating and how much, that in and of itself is a big help. Adding some exercise is another important ingredient and can be a gradual process. Take your time exploring the site there is a lot of information on it and it can be overwhelming, but well worth your time.

Yesterday I came upon this site quite by accident or maybe it was serendipity because I had just stepped on the scales to see that I had gained another five pounds! Yikes. Since I moved to Texas 4 years ago, the weight has been creeping on. It must be that Southern hospitality. Where ever you go people want to feed you or go out to eat with you. Before I retired weight wasn't a problem as I was so busy working that I didn't have time to cook or eat out. Now it's a different story. So I'm going to be very diligent until I lose the 15 pounds I've gained.
