Tracking is so good. Be sure and have your allotted calories for the day.

I have started tracking my food - I have been having a little trouble figuring out how it all works, but think I'm starting to figure it out.
I have been trying to eat more fruits and vegetables.
Have been starting the day with sensible breakfast, like blueberries and a hard boiled egg....then as I feel hungry during the day try eating just a little something like maybe an apple, couple pieces of cheese, etc and trying to eat healthy dinner - tonight I plan on have a small piece of pork and a salad..........

wish me luck!

Welcome and there is some great ideas here already. I don't like the word diet because I don't quit eating what I like. I just cut back on it. Take it in slow steps like was suggested, add more veggies and fruits and that will help to fill you up to cut back on the amount of potatoes and pastas you eat. I would track your food so you know how many calories you are getting and then strive for how many you need and want. Don't try to do everything at once because you will become overwhelmed and then it is easy to quit.

Welcome! I agree with trying to gradually reduce the size of the high calorie foods you love instead of eliminating them altogether. Maybe increase the lo-cal veggies to compensate.

Hi there... i am definitely on your team... yo yo diet. It seems like no matter what I follow I lose the same 5 pounds over and over again. emoticon

I use to do weight watchers until, they went to points. My favorite way to track is by calories and measuring. The diabetes exchange list is easy to follow too. Thats where measuring comes in which I don't mind.

I have enough tools so I should be able to do it. D a r n it! Iím going to start walking every day now!

A program like weight watchers allows you to eat what you want but in moderation. You could use the food tracker on Spark People to keep within a certain calorie range. A good start would be to increase your water intake. emoticon

Perhaps just by cutting down on the portions of those foods you love, this will help you with your weight loss as well!

HI - I just joined and think there are many things here that can help me.
My main problem is I LOVE FOOD! I can pass up desserts no problem -
sure I like them but I can avoid eating them....my main problem is plain
old FOOD - I love mashed potatoes and noodles, potato chips, etc.
I am 70 years old with health issues - doing better health wise now, but
it's been a really rough two years!....
I have been yo-yo dieting for years! Need to find the motivation to stick
with it so going to give this a try!
Would love to hear any advice you all can share!
