Hi, Peachi10, I would say that maybe you don't push exercising too much at the beginning but concentrate on weight loss/food tracking to lose a little weight first. Maybe that will make it a little easier on your back further down the road so exercise won't trigger your sciatica too much?

Sometimes I think people on SP push themselves into doing it all at once and it's difficult to sustain that much change and too easy to injure ourselves. I didn't add in exercise this time around until a few months into losing weight/tracking my food and I think it really helped my process. Best of luck - keep us posted! emoticon

Hello, I am new also to the team. I truly am looking forward to being in the team and meeting my goals. I also have been struggling with the ups and downs of trying to lose weight. I suffer with sciatica and it makes it a little difficult to find exercises that are very effective yet harmless to the condition. I have had both my knees replaced and that is a issue of it's own, but I am looking forward to this team and SparkPeople and the motivation.
