My name is Kim and I've been a vegetarian for about five years. I recently had surgery and have about a week left for recovery before I can start working out again. I haven't had much experience with weight lifting but know I want to make a committed effort for the sport. Up until now its been videos, elliptical, rowing, and basically goofing off. I look forward to being a part of this team!

Hello there my name is Charice. I really would love to get seriously into body building, but up until now have really been afraid of the commitment to the sport. Also, I have recently started with the vegetarian diet (about five months now) and I don't think I am fueling my body properly. I would like to get advice and help on this journey to a better me as I prepare to turn 40 in a little over three months. Appreciate any help, advice or encouragement that you can offer.

~ Charice ~

Hi Everybody. Thrilled to have found this team. I am an ovo lacto vegetarian and I'm always looking for ideas on how build and maintain muscle sans the meat. LOL.

I am lucky in that I have an unfinished basement! I workout strictly at home and have for the past 10 years or so. Over that time I have collected a nice collection of toys, mostly gifts (Christmas, birthday, mother's day...)!

Medicine balls, are a blast! Here are some links to various exercises...

Just wondering why you think yo have no room for kettlebells? They require no more room than you would use for any other weights. And much less room than you need for an exercise DVD??

I have not used kettlebell weights(no room). I was wondering what you use medicine ball for and if it would be good to get one.

Hi Sandy.

I like seeing this team more active also.

I have a bunch of weights that I use, new resistance bands that I'm starting to use. I also have lots of DVDs, jump rope, and an elliptical. I'm just trying to get better at exercising each day. And need all the help I can get.

I have been a laco ovo vegetarian for over 20 years. I have been trying to eat healthier by eating more fruits, veggies, beans, grains, ect

I have never introduced myself here before so here goes...Hi my name is Sandy and I have been eating a mostly vegan diet for the past 2 months. I am also testing next Tuesday to become a personal trainer.

I am 45, have 2 wonderful grown babies (20 and almost 19), and a very supportive hubby.

My goals are not unique, I want to increase muscle mass and decrease BF%.

And my current obsessions (in addition to iron!) are gymnastic rings, kettlebells, agility ladders and medicine balls!

I would love to see this team get more active! Thank you 816Jimme for getting things going again!!

Sandy

Hi I'm new to this team but not to Sparks I joined Sparks in August.

I was accepted as a friend and I returned the favor and noticed this team on his page and read a topic and I liked what I read.

I hope this team is still active. I'm Amy and very much so into body building. Since last summer I've been lifting with my bf. December 29th I had gastric bypass and have lost 57 lbs to date. I'm actually starting to see the muscle tone. Also since my surgery I've had issues with eating meat of any kind. I need help getting the protein I need to stay healthy let alone the protein I need for body building. Can you all help me out. How much protein do I need for body building? I've been vegetarian before and did fine so that won't be hard for me to go back.

Hi everyone!! I am new to this team and new to being a vegan. I am not a body builder or even toned...but I am working on getting there. I became a vegan, initially, for health reason...but it has evolved into much more than that now. I am glad to see this team is here!!!
