Look at all the success going on down here. I love in the ingenuity of containers Greb.

Great job on the weight loss Mistress. Especially with the illness and family stresses.

As for me, I didn't manage to lose the pound per week (stayed steady) but considering DH and I had to carpool for almost two weeks after our cars were destroyed (which means no gym time) I think that is pretty good.

I completed a life goal of learning to drive a manual by buy a manual and practicing with a friend over lunch.

The house hunting is on hold for now, but DH and I did start the deep cleaning and getting rid of junk. Saying good bye to books is hard, but some of them needed to go.

Now I need to make some good Feb goals.

Great on the sleeping better! :) and no judgement on the gelato.

Looks like my shakeup has worked. I was hoping for 1lb a week lost, but, I am down 7lbs for the month. WOOTWOOT.

Yay for two pounds lost, MISSDORKNESS.

Have the drivebys escalated into getting showings yet, LORENVER? When Eric and I were in DC a couple weekends ago, he couldn't resist touring a brownstone that had an open house. It was a lovely home, and under 2 million dollars, so y'know, spare change!!! Of course, he has no intention of moving to DC, it was just fun wandering through and dreaming of gorgeous diggs.

Okay, I haven't posted regularly, which never bodes well for my goals, and I can't believe it's less than a week to the end of the month, but here's where I stand:

emoticon Both Tupperware and simple canning jars are crazy expensive around here, so I found another solution. This was just as cheap as the empty jars I found, and the pint jar is just the right size for both soup and freggies, and it's more leakproof than Tupperware, and it's lighter than a glass jar. Oh, yeah, and the gelato I had to eat before I could use the jar for my lunches was delicious. Don't judge me! emoticon

emoticon I'm not ready to spring for hockey or synchro team fees yet, but I _did_ rejoin my Y so the pool is available from 6 am to 10:30 pm every night. And I've mapped out a plan to have that pistol squat under my belt as my birthday present to myself. 109 body weight squats today.

emoticon I've had a couple days where I felt like I HAD to do school work on the train, but that was _every_ commute in December, and this month I've been reading at least one direction and most days both. Finishing If the Oceans Were Ink right now, and Accidental Saints is waiting on my desk. It feels good to curl up with a good book, and it doesn't seem to have gotten me any farther behind at work - the short train ride is just more efficiently used for reading.

emoticon I have the sleep thing figured out, I think. Eric has the kids on Tuesdays and Thursdays and every other weekend. So on the weekends he has the kids, I may or may not hang out with them on the Thursday before and the Tuesday after, but make a point of leaving by 9 pm so I'm in bed before 10. And then I stay up for story time on the weekend, when I can sleep in or take an afternooon nap if I'm feeling sleep deprived. On the weekends he doesn't have the kids, I'm committed to "family time" on the surrounding Tuesday and Thursday, but I only stay for the bedtime story on one of those two nights, and the other night I'm out by 9. So I'm only having one late worknight every two weeks. I think I can manage that. And it seems like now that I'm back to working out more regularly, I'm sleeping better. More muscle AND more sleep - what could be wrong with that?

I'm feelng good!

I was heavier on carbs than usual, along with the more calories, but, it doesn't seem to have done me any harm. Good to have a two week refeed. Back restricting this week, we'll see if that jolts me a bit in the loss department or not.

Considering you were sick, that is good progress.

I was sick too, and it made being on any plan a rough.

I've been tracking my calories, as I've done accurately since May.
BUT, I wasn't able to work out, because I was sick for two weeks.
I also increased my calorie range for those two weeks. I was really hungry and didn't want to be both sick and hangry.

Back to working out the past two days, and bringing my calories back down a bit.

I'm 2lbs down this month, which I guess is in line, as I'm hoping for 1lb a week at this point.

Greb, I am so glad you posted your day 1, it makes me feel like i need to pay attention to my goals too (darn!).
1. I tracked day 1 and am tracking day 2. Day 1 was pretty good.

2. Sunday is a WT off day. Today I need to do some at home working out. Yeesh. I'll do some body weight shoulder work.

3. No classes on vacation, but I've been doing some good walks in the GREAT weather.

4. House - I got a pre-qual for a mortgage. Yesterday DH and I did more drive bys and have some we want to visit. More are on the list. I have wrapped up most of the 2016 budget and am working on assets for down payment - nothing solid yet.

emoticon Gorged on cucumber and spinach today

emoticon Didn't cook any soup, but I did check out a couple local stores for their canning supplies. No luck yet.

emoticon Did my squats today

emoticon Read The Grid on the train today

emoticon Going to bed now even though I'm not sleepy in hopes of getting back into some kind of reasonable routine.

New house! That's exciting! emoticon

I need to swap out some of the whining and waiting I ended 2016 with in favor of some small changes that make me happier and healthier in 2017. So here are my plans for January...

emoticon I will invest in some new, small lock'n'lock containers and make a point of having at least two cups of ready-to-shove-in-my-face freggies with me every day at work.

emoticon While I'm at it, I should get some pint canning jars and start packing my own soups instead of paying $2.50 a can for Progresso.

emoticon It's gonna be a while before I can join a pool or take those hockey lessons, so instead of just letting my body continue to detrain, I'm going to recommit to learning to do a pistol squat, join MarineMama's challenges, use Eric's 35-flight stairwell as a stairmaster, SOME kind of bodyweight strength training every day. And I'm gonna find a playground/park near home I'm allowed to jump rope without a kid accompanying me.

emoticon Gonna re-dedicate my commuting time to reading.

emoticon I'm going to keep a time diary this month and figure out what needs to give for me to get back to sleeping more than 7 hours a night. I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired. Probably also means learning to tell Ellen no, I can't be her bedtime story on school nights.
