Welcome Linz!

You will find this lifestyle change to be a journey rather than a straight line on a chart. Thayer are so many factors interacting without bodies and several non weight measurements of success. No matter what you experience, don't give up. Keep working your program.

Ps I love zumba!! See you on the message boards.

Hi Linz. Welcome to the team. You will find a lot of support here. Good luck on your journey. You seem to have the right mind set to lose weight. You love yourself for who you are, not what the scale or clothes size says you are.

Happy Birthday early! What a great present you will get! emoticon

Hey folks!

I'm glad I found this group ... It's one that I think will help me focus on my goal of 100 lbs. by my birthday this year (what an AWESOME gift that would be to myself!).

As most of us have I'm sure, I've struggled with my weight A LOT throughout my lifetime. It's been rough, at times. I love myself, big or small, because I like to think of myself as a helpful, kind, sincere person, but I want my outer me to reflect that inner me. And I want that person who takes care of everyone else to finally take care of herself!

In January, I weighed in at my first WW meeting at 360 lbs. I'm currently down to 320.2 - I've hit a plateau these last few weeks, BUT I have also drastically increased my activity so I think part of it may be my body playing catch up with what's going on. :) Has anyone else experienced this?

Currently I'm doing BodyPump (IN LOVE) and Zumba (fun cardio class - whooped my butt last night!), and WW has been really, really good to me. :)

Linz

Reinvigorated. 2013 was part one. Now it's time to finish the job. :)

Starting at 282.2. Glad I caught it before it caught me!

Hi Bri. Welcome! I'm pretty sure you can find some articles on binge eating that should help you. Trust me...I know all about that. It won't be long though, that you will learn to stop eating when you are content and not full.
Good luck with your journey, and congratulations to your sister.

Hi everyone!

My name is Bri and I am 25 years old. I started my weight loss journey at 247.2 lbs. My first weigh-in is Tomorrow 9/10/13. I am going to lose 100 in a year. I do have hypothyroidism that we are still working on controlling. I am also a self diagnosed binge eater that will eat until i pop. So portion control is hard for me. I want this for many reasons but one that really stands out is my sister is getting married soon and I want to rock as her maid of honor! I am however learning to LOVE exercising, I never thought i would say that!

Hi y'all.. I'm Annie.. I'm losing 100lbs in 1 year... i'm down 25lbs so far.. by the time I take a vacation to Africa I plan to be down another 46lbs.. I'm following the Paleo style of eating and I love love love it... primarily because I don't have cravings and am absolutely NOT hungry... and I'm working out with a CrossFit coach three times a week and then two other workouts on my own. I'm learning how to be uncomfortable and it be "okay"... and exercise really makes me uncomfortable! (Im 5'11" and started out at 326 and am down to 301.. I should see the 200s soon!)

Anyhoo, glad to be a part of the team.

Hello
My Name is Regina. I have been up and down the scales all my life. I, at one time, was almost at goal, and now I am bigger than ever. I have been a member of spark for a while, but never really stayed. I was alway on again off again person when it come to sparking. I want to do better and lose weight. I have over 100+ weight to lose AGAIN!!! I would like to stay a normal weight and not balancing up and down like a yo-yo. I know I have lots of health problems that makes me not want to lose fast. But I need patients and keep going instead of getting frustrated. i want to finish what i started with success and hope you guys can help me do that.

Hi Everyone!

I am Cee~not new to the team but I have not been active at all. I am starting my goals once again so I can actually do this! I have more than 100 pounds to lose and I would love to have a friend(s) who will be with me through this entire process. I have been with sparkpeople for awhile and I have met lots of people who are active and motivated for a few weeks and they drop out of site, and I have done the same. I am hoping this time will make a difference and I would love to have some people for support and we can share ideas and things that have helped along the way. I hope that being a part of an active team with people who have the common factor of having a lot of weight to lose will be the much needed encouragement and motivation that I need to see it through and be successful this time.

I'm excited and I know we can do this!

Hello,

My name is Danielle. My story is the same that's heard over and over. I've been overweight since I was in middle school. 100 pounds would put me right at my goal. I will be graduating with my BSN next year (I alread have my ASN and work as a nurse )and it would be nice to wear something great to graduation. I will also be eligible to apply for my dream job after graduation, in Korea and if I get it, it would be nice to buy some clothes while there! I don't expect to be able to fit into everything, but picking up something cute would be nice.

Hello everyone. My name is Carolyn and I am new here. I am glad to join this team. I have confidence that this team can help me reach my goal to lose 100 pounds over the course of a year. I'm a diabetic and have been struggling both in my weight loss journey and in keeping my blood sugar in good control. The years seem to be going by fast and I would like to live with good health and fitness before I become to old to appreciate it. I believe good health and fitness will even help to add years to my life.
Looking forward to getting to know the members of the team and taking my weight loss journey with you all.
Carolyn

Welcome new memebers!
Uwpalum, you've come to the right place if you're looking for support. Of all the teams I'm on, I think this is where I get the most support.

Conniebug, you've been dieting, and we all know dieting always fails. This is not a diet; it's a change of life. When you realize that this is what you have to do to lose and then maintain, you will have more success. It's sounds like you are on the right track, and ready to start getting healthy. Congratulations.

Kerry, I know what you mean by medical problems getting in your way of losing weight. I have stayed in my calorie range and exercised a lot, and I'm still not losing any weight, BUT, I am getting healthier, and I know I'm losing inches because my clothes are getting looser and I'm buying smaller sizes. Don't give up. The scale doesn't always measure your success!

Good luck to you all,
Karen

Hey Everybody! My name is Kerry. I'm originally from New Orleans, then spent about a decade in Boston for school and am now out in Denver, CO. Back in 2009 I had great success with SP and lost 50+ lbs. Then life got in the way, I gained a bit back and mostly, just lost my groove. I have several medical problems which are very complicated and make the weight loss journey even more difficult than it normally is. emoticon I'm in desperate need to get my groove back and get back to a reliable schedule, so hopefully this challenge will help me. emoticon

Hello. My name is Connie, and I have just joined the team. I started gaining weight right after highschool, and it just kept piling on. I'm now in my thirties, and over 100 pounds overweight. I have dieted off and on for most of my adult life, and I even had Lap-band surgery at one point (it had to be removed due to complications, along with several feet of my intestines).

Now I am finally really ready to get rid of this extra weight. I have put my body through so much; I want to treat myself better.

Hi everyone! My story isn't new...overweight since middle school, back injury, chronic pain and depression helped to add more than 100 pounds over the past eight years onto my body. I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired. December 30th I changed my diet, got active with SP and now I've lost more than 25 pounds. But I want to keep going, and every day I still have to actively decide that I'm going to stay on this journey and change my lifestyle for good. I will take all the support I can get. My goals are to get enough sleep, work out at least four times a week, be positive about myself and mindful of what I eat. I am also getting a lot from the blogging and teams on this site! So my journey continues...and I'm signed up for a 5K the first week of May! Scary!

Hi! I'm new to Spark People, but not to losing weight. I'm a 32 year old mother of 2 incredibly supportive kids. I have an amazing man who has been to hell and back with me over the last 12 years. I was always in shape (5' 4" and an athletic 145lbs), until I started struggling with depression/anxiety. Over the course of a few years, I ended up being 267lbs. I stayed that way for years. In February of 2010, I finally got it together and, after exactly 1 year, I had lost 87 lbs. I mainted 180lbs for over a year. I was in my last year of college, and I had to do 40 hours a week of clinical rotations and still work 40 hours a week. On top of that I had a horrible back injury that lead to round after round of steriods (injections and oral). Needless to say after that, I found myself back where I am today a frustrated 245lbs! I will not live my life like this any longer. I only have 3 years until my oldest goes to college, and I will not waste them! I would like to be able to cross some items off my bucket list before it's too late! So that's me in a nutshell! Looking forward to each 2lbs I can mark off my list!!

Hello all,
My name is Sheila and I am new to the group, but not to spark people or trying to lose weight. I have tried every diet under the sun for over 20+ years. I guess you could call me a yo yo dieter. I gain and lose all the time. When I hit stalls I get discouraged and fall off and gain everything back + more.
I was diagnosed a little over a year ago with a bad thyroid, and it took my doctor a full year to get the dosage correct. On the bright side since being on the new meds...I began losing!!! As of to day I am down 37 pounds. I had lost 40, but I gained a few pounds during Thanksgiving and Christmas. I am back on track and hopefully will be down 3 pounds by next week. Or that is my plan anyway.

I may not be able to check in everyday, but plan on posting here at least once a week.

Have a blessed day, Sheila

Royalrunner,

Sorry I didn't comment on your post! I had 3 appointments today and I am a bit tired. Texas is a big state like Montana!! I hope you are enjoying running. The best way to exercise is doing something you really enjoy. If it is like work or you don't really like it...it is hard to stick to very long!!

50 pounds by June is doable!! I did not make the 100 pounds in a year, but I will make it eventually! I am getting close to onederland and very excited about that!!

Anyway, welcome to the team. And good luck with your running and on your journey!!

LKOPEL2,

Glad to have you on the team. I hope you are reading articles. There are some good ones on nutrition, exercise, wellness and...I am drawing a blank on the other category. Can anyone help me out??

Good for you for wanting to change your life!! I have been on this journey now for almost two years. Remember...progress and not perfection will get you to your goal.

Be healthy!
Angie
