Hope you enjoy the CD idea. I used it yesterday at the dentist, and I really do feel that it helps (along with drugs, though I am sure I would need MORE of those without the peace of the ocean sounds).

One thing I am doing on a CONSTANT basis, is really paying attention to what I am doing. In other words, if I spend 45 minutes doing normal farm chores, I am adding all that in to my workout -- I cannot recall how I figured it out, but it couldn't have been hard. I also keep track of my hiking time and regular exercise. I keep a note in my calendar which I call my accomplishment log/journal.

I know there will be many days where I am a basic couch potato. When my pain level exceeds my ability to figure out what to do next without falling. However, I am truly trying to piece together a decent life with all of this, so keeping it real, making it the best life I can, is my ultimate goal. Yes, I would love to be smaller too!!! I am praying that if I am true to myself, that will happen too! emoticon

Thanks so much for welcome. I'll give ocean CDs a try - sounds blissful! I like to meditate, but don't make the time to do it enough.

We might have snow here tomorrow. It's raining today but I'm working from home and the birds are singing so I'm feeling very relaxed indeed! emoticon

Hey there and WELCOME!

As for stress relievers -- if I am not in a place I can jump up and down or walk ( I deal with odd amounts of pain at varied times) I find listening to ocean sounds is really good. I have CD's on my ipod, and in my room, and that helps a lot. I suppose it is a form of meditation.

Hi there - I'm from the UK & I'm new to the team but not new to SP - been sticking to meal plans (well not exactly but same calories!) & managed to lose some weight recently. I've just been diagnosed with an Arnold Chiari I malformation. At the moment I'm waiting to talk to the neurosurgeon but not sure what he'll want to do yet.

I can't do any jumping about type exercise or exert myself much at the moment & feel a bit wonky - even yoga seems to be causing prblems, but am trying to walk everywhere as much as possible & stick to a routine as I have to reduce hours at work. Anyway - trying to stay positive & all that, but work is stressing me out! Does anyone have any good stress relieving tips btw?
