I just recently had a stent put in and qualified for free cardiac rehab which I did religiously 3 X a week. I was feeling very good except for a pulmonary problem and I I could tell when I needed to rest or I could go full force...as Faith said..."Listen to your body."
I am just getting over a bad sinus infection and could not exercise...but now I'm feeling better so I will slowly build up again.
Val...I found that if I sat in a chair ( when my flairs were at their fullest ) and used just two lb weights and did mild upper arm exercises...I need to get back to them! But that is something you can do...

I know that I should be working out but I just can't. The best I can handle is walking, which is a very good weight bearing exercise but not a strength builder. I need to look into some chair exercises or something like that because that's about all I think I can handle. I know I need to...but so far I just haven't. Maybe that can be one of my things for the new year...

It sounds, to me, that you are already doing the right thing by not pushing yourself too hard. Just listen to your body. I find that I need to quit before I'm tired. If I wait til I feel tired, I've pushed myself too hard.

Hi. I was dx with MS in 08 and this will be the first time I will be working out consistently. I am nervous about actually pushing myself because i don't want to cause a flare up, so I have been going easy. How do you know when to push harder? I have only had 1 bad flare since i was diagnosed so I have been pretty lucky.
