Hi! I'm Jacque, and I joined because this group seems to embody alot of what I'm trying to do in my life right now.
I'm adjusting to being a new mother, without loosing the entire sense of self that I've managed to create for myself. Life has been very hectic, as I'm sure you can imagine, and I want to slow down a little more.

Hi I'm a newbie to this team but as previous member said - not to spark. Sadly I noted I had joined SP way back in 11/10/2006 - OUCH! I have been but just a flicker here in the past. Seems every year about this time I pop back on - gee wonder why...

But I am hoping this time I am here to say. Actually just became a leader in another SPteam so...I'm hoping for some soon involvement to a previously inactive team. If so that will promote accountable to me as well.

As a 50-something I have also dabbled in Yoga in the past but in Oct '12 I really needed to gain some inner peace with the death of my hubby (55) on 4/3/12 so I took up Yoga again. I attend a class once a week and believe me - what a wonder and blessing Yoga has been. In all I've been through I have this inner peace that transcends any understanding of my own. I know that this has come with Yoga and meditation on mindfulness to bring me this calm.

Look forward to viewing more from this team - keep the SPARK burning brightly!!!

Hello everyone. I am new to this team, but not to SparkPeople. I having been meditating for about a year, now. I retired last January and am looking for a part time job, again. I am a 59 yr old female from Oklahoma with a husband of 35 yrs and two grown children, a daughter and a son. I have been looking for a team like this and feel it will be good for me.

Welcome everyone!

I have to agree with Kaligirl. I'm also doing the 21-day mediation, and it's great! I not new to meditation at all, and I love this series! It's not just for beginners. These guided meditations are giving me something special that I normally don't get, namely because they're guided. I have to say I've LOVED Deepak for years, and listening to his voice is exactly what I need right now.

Hi Team- I'm a new member here. In the past few days I have come to realize that I need to find some stress relief in my life and have started to meditate. I have a very happy life in all, but have noticed that I worry about the unexpected way to much. I need to stop worrying and start living each day for what it is- a Blessing!

Not sure if I'm doing it right, but a few quiet minutes to myself a day seems to be helping.

Good Day, I have been on & off SP for quite a while found this Team this morning.

I have practiced meditation & yoga for quite a while but I have developed a mindfulness practice and have done so consistently almost daily for the last 7 months.. It has made a difference in how I think & feel.

Hi, everyone! I'm returning to SparkPeople after a long time away. I'm realizing I need some kind of structure, however minimal (and I don't want heavy structure because it triggers destructive rebelliousness for me!) in order to follow healthier patterns.

I'm a Buddhist and have been a member of this team for a long time, but have not posted in ages and was never very active. But I would like to change that.

I am so pleased to have found this team. When I have practiced meditation in the past it has always helped calm my mind, and leaves me feeling less stressed, more optimistic about life. My problem is remembering to do it, and having the energy - but reducing stress levels lessens the impact of the chronic fatigue I get with the M.E. I have, so I really should do it! Mindfulness is used to help those with M.E., so I am really looking forward to reading the group discussions, advice etc. on these two practices.

Hi all! Thank you everyone for such a warm welcome on my Sparkpage! I'm Carrie. I am very new to any form of meditation and am trying to soak in any and all information I can. This team seems to be a wonderful place to do so. I have some pretty intense medical issues which in turn cause lots of stress and pain. I'm hoping doing some meditation will get me to a more comfortable place in my life and help me deal with everything that is thrown at me each day.

I think I am going to find some awesome inspiration here! I'm Kristi and I grew up on Lake Wissota in Chippewa Falls, WI. It was a spoiled life, not because I had things or my family had money, but because, just out the back door was our own beach in the summer and skating rink in the winter. I was rarely bored!
As an adult, I have run into some chronic health issues, one of which is disabling enough that I can't work. A big challenge. Mindfulness meditation can help both illnesses, but I have to do it, right?! I took a Mindfulness Meditation class based on Jon Kabat-Zinn's work-great stuff. But, I stopped practicing. It's time to begin again.
I'm looking forward to knowing some of you better!

Hi,
I'm Susan and I live in San Antonio. I am in great need of reducing my stress level as it is affecting my health, mind, job productivity and weight loss efforts (whew!). I think I have come to the right place. A little about me...I have one lab mix dog, 2 cats, 8 guinea pigs, a few tarantulas and one husband. (-: I work as an admin in a university setting. I've been interested in Buddhism for a few years now but want to delve deeper.

Hi all, my name is Brenda, I'm from West Virginia and I'm new here.

I am looking to get back all that I've misplaced the last few years. I had a few lifequakes and so many of my good for me habits seemed to fall along the way while I tended to what needed to be done at the time.

I'm working at getting back to meditating daily, for some reason it seems so much harder to get back into making it a habit. I know how much better I felt when I could find that calm middle ground.

I am also trying to start back with yoga, putting on many pounds and losing my flexibility have made it much more difficult. I then get frustrated and give up. I will continue until I can once again do it. It seemed to help my mind and body work better together.

Right now my goal is to start slow with 15 minutes a day.

Thanks to you who dropped by my page and welcomed me to this team. I started into mindful and meditation practice 10 years ago when I had the good fortune to attend at Thich Nhat Hahn retreat in Estes Park, Co. My goal is to meditate everyday, and I'm more consistent than I've been in a long time. Currently I'm using the 21 day Mantra Challenge and I love it. I also sit with a local sangha once a week.
I look forward to getting to know each of you!

Hi!
Glad to have this team. I'm not new but am feeling new and energized - am recommitting as fall weather settles. I have a spotty yoga practice and an even spottier meditation practice. I noticed a thread called "Have You Meditated Today?"-- Perfect!
I'm looking forward to meeting my teammates.
