Hi to everyone new to KBs.
Check out the other posts in this group. There is some good information on what size KBs to try, what DVDs are good to get, and how to find a good trainer. Good DVDs and a good trainer if you can afford one will keep you from injuring yourself.

Hi BLue!
I'm part of meetup as well although I have been slacking in the meeting up part. What area are you from? I would definitely go to a kettle bell class

I'm part of the website, meetup.com, where I found a local group for kettlebell training. The trainer was offering free workshops and I went to the first one, ended up being the only person. I pretty much got a one-on-one kettlebell session. I've gone to 5 so far in the past month. I am ADDICTED! I just ordered a set of kettlebells (10lb, 15lb, and 20lb with storage stand) from Sports Authority for a really great price! I've learned about 11 exercises so far and I can't wait to learn more!

I've seen a lot about kettle bells in the news, on tv, and in he gym - but never really knew how to use them. I travel a lot for work so they seem like a great way to work out on the road or in a hotel room. I'm really interested in getting a little Kettlebell 101 since I am truly a beginner :)

I am thinking about getting some kettlebells but heard they were unsafe. Is that true. If not how many pounds should I start out with and where can I find the workouts at?

It's not a short-term diet. It's a long-term lifestyle change.

1. How did you get interested in KBs and how long have you used them?

My brother who is a personal trainer uses them & recommended that consider KB's. I started off in June but due to a mishap I have held off on KB training.

2. Overall goals-lose weight, overall fitness, build muscle?

Lose weight, improve overall fitness & build muscle in the process. I know losing weight & building muscle generally do not go hand in hand.

3. Anything else you might want to add!

Not at this time.
