emoticon My name is Latisha and I just recently joined this team. I ordered the book and I should have it by Friday, February 14th. I am so excited to read it and apply what I read to my life. I am an emotional eater and I feel it takes over my life most days. I keep losing the same 5 or 10 pounds week after week, month after month. Quite frankly, I am tired of it. Hopefully, I can learn new ways to appreciate food and my body.

Hi, I am Christina, I'm 52. I live in the Netherlands.
Married, no children.

I read 'Shrink Yourself' a few years ago and also followed an online training. It did not help me back then to stop the binge eating I was doing. I have since followed treatment for BED (binge eating) and learned to normalize my eating pattern. I made good progress even though I am not 'completely cured' (yet!).
Now that I spend quite some time focusing on learing to treat food as fuel, I have lately become more interested in the emotional and psychological background of overeating. This is why I joined this team!

Thank you for the add. I have been getting Dr. Gould's emails for years, yet I've never done his program. To be honest I didn't even realize there is a book. I am a huge Audible person so hopefully the book is on audible.

It's clear to me after a year on Precision Nutrition that emotional eating is clearly my issue. I finally own this. No more denying or ignoring. So I'm thinking of signing up for Shrink Yourself but after a year of such an intense program like PN I am going to take a break before I do.

About me: I'm 50, need to lose around 35 lbs, live near Ft. Worth, Texas.

Hi..I'm Barb. I am 64 .. emoticon (but a "young" 64!!) emoticon
I live in MN, and love it. I think the reason I love it is because we have all 4 seasons and everything those seasons bring us.
I have no children, and am single. I am a Foster Grandma at our elementary school, and work with about 125 fifth graders, and I work about 5 1/2 hours a day. I enjoy it so much. It's rewarding, and I get back so much from the kids.
I weigh 130, and have been maintaining for over a year. But I find it just as hard to maintain as to lose, having to watch what I eat, and stress..that can really get me off track.
But I do know how hard it is to lose, too.
I love to read, biking, being creative in writing, cards, and decorating..I enjoy the outdoors. I also enjoy going to thrift stores, and garage sales..that is where I buy almost all my clothes and things for my apt..I also enjoy suduko (keeps my brain active) emoticon

Welcome Barb! We are so glad you are here! This really gets into our head why we have certain hungers. There is a great link on the Phantom Hunger vs. Physical Hunger. I will try to find some of Dr. Gould's but he has changed a lot of things. But I will post it on the Chapter 1 thread. That is awesome you are Foster Grandma. This team was here before, and someone had changed it, but now that it became vacant again, I think this is really going to help us. Hi! My name Sandy! I am 63 and trying to get healthy for retirement June 30th. I gain and loose the same 10 pounds over and over. I joined a Biggest Looser Challenge at work the end of January to see if a challenge would help me again. I started at 164 and am now down to 153. I have to stay on track and stop going back to my way because it doesn't work. Happy Easter emoticon

Hi I'm Mandy, and have been on and off SP for a few years. I was devasted when they changed the Shrink Yourself Team into this one. I was getting ready to lead it. I'm on Eat to Live and trying to bring back some things from Shrink Yourself. If I can get organized I might be a leader, but the SY threads are all spread out. But so glad I found this, and hopefully can get this started again! Happy Easter! emoticon
