Hi! I am Em. New here, old to SP. I lost 70 lbs using SP, then life interfered, and I slacked off, then dropped out, and need to lose 30 more. My attitude has been adjusted and now I am ready to begin again...one less bite at a time.
My Diet plan is to use SparkPeople/Low-Calorie/Low-Carbohydrates tracking system.
My Exercise plan is 5+ days of Cardio, and 3+ Days of Strength Training--mostly using SP and other on-line Videos.
I will follow the plan for 100 Days, beginning on Monday. I hope to lose 14 lbs during those 14 weeks. 8-).
I will keep a record of my progress by blogging on this site.

The sea is so great, and my boat is so small....

Wow, Moomshine! You've made great progress and have great realistic daily goals. I have the book . . . in a desk drawer! (Ok, now the team knows.) I've printed out the journal and look forward to starting Monday also. I've been working on my "Reasons I want to lose weight" list.

I'm new to the group and to Linda Spangle's book. I've read bits and pieces of it, and have finally ordered a copy for myself. I hope to find insight into the reason(s) why I'm unable to lose the weight and more importantly what I can do about it. Not looking for a quick fix, but something I can use and feel comfortable with in my daily life.

I am so excited that I am just in time to begin 100 More Days of Weight Loss! emoticon
I worked through the 100 Days of Weight Loss, years ago. I have made many changes to the way I eat, in the last few years, but I am very interested in the why's of when I eat. I hope that makes sense. LOL I struggle with emotional eating. I have an autoimmune disease that messes with my stamina and I would like to prevent other health issues.

I found this team by a link on Olderowl’s blog on Positive Thinking. I’ve lost 90 pounds in the last 2+ years and have been in maintenance since June 2018. Weight wise I’m doing okay. Although I’ve made great progress and feel happy about that, I have always struggled with emotional eating and continue to do so. Hoping to work on this problem during the 100 Days. Wishing the very best to all as we make this 100 Day journey together!

Hi everyone. I'm new to this team, but I'm not new to Spark People. I joined about 10 years ago and have been losing and gaining the same 5-10 pounds ever since then. At one point I had lost about 30 pounds but managed to find it again. It's time for a change. I was reading a blog entry where 100 Days To Weight Loss was referenced. I looked it up to find out what it was all about and I decided I need to do this. I just ordered the book on Amazon. I'm looking forward to getting started. Having homework to do every day will help me stay motivated and keep focused on my goals. This is gonna be my year to shine. emoticon

Hiya. You have a couple of options.
1) jump to Day 18 and jog along with us.......each Day is valuable, but none of them are totally dependent on you having done the previous days.

2) whizz through the days in binge mode - just read them - won't take long

3) keep going at your own pace

My advice would be option 1) because it is SO much more fun with company!

Hello,

I'm new to this team! I just got "100 days of weight loss" and today I'm on day 2. I'm a bit sad that I didn't find this group on time to start in sync with the group reading, but I'm following not too far behind :)

Hi Gill. That is what I am blaming on. However it just seemed to happen quick. And now taking much more effort. I am giving some consideration to "is this my happy weight"? However not pleased with my stomach. So a few more anyway. It will happen. Patience has never been one of my super virtues, and age hasn't helped that either! emoticon

Hi I am Pam. I am pretty much in maintenance but put on a few pounds. I have taken most of it back off, but am still struggling with 2 to five pounds. I have been exercising every day for at least 10 minutes, usually more like 20 to 30. But these last few are making me work.
I did the Spark Coach program which really put me back on track with my eating and got me going more on exercise.
MawMaw told me about this program. She is my spark buddy on the 5% fall challenge.
I think the bottom line is I may have to cut my calories even more but I am resisting that. My measurements are pretty much what they were at my goal weight with just a little extra and I mean a little here and there.
The thought has crossed my mind that I could actually be building some muscle which I know weighs more than fat. I would like to lose that little bit more, because I think I would feel more comfortable in some of my clothes.
So, that's my story and I am sticking to it! emoticon
I figure each extra thing I do can help me along the way!
I thank you Gill for being so diligent with your encouraging emails and the links each morning!

This time is THE time!

I'm just seeing this now, SWEETENUFGILL, and thank you . I don't know what happened to all the weekly Digests that I receive, as I only received one last night and almost zero spark mail. I went to that area late this morning, where we sort of renew it, but I don't see much of anything from the teams I connect with. I was not notified of any spark messages, but see I got to from this team.

I will check out Linda's website. I'm excited about doing something new.

Sincerely, Janis

Spark People Team Leader, GLITTERGIRL, from Team, "I Can't Do This On My Own", helped me reach my goal in 2012. I was able to maintain my weight for several months, but now I have to get serious again as much of my hard work I let go of, putting my focus on another issue. I will keep on, until I get back to my goal.

Hi Janis!

I have certainly had my money's worth out of my copy of "100 Days of Weight Loss".

There are always links on Linda's website to where you can buy it from her. There are also usually cheap copies on Amazon as it is not a new book. There are kindle versions, and an audio book version.

Click on the team logo to take your to the website.

Linda has a few books now. We use three of them:-

100 Days of Weight Loss - our main one.
100 MORE Days of Weight Loss - a new one that we've worked through recently.
Friends with the Scale - a shorter 28-day book we do from time-to-time.

I just posted a getting ready thread in the Lessons Forum you might find helpful.

I am feeling I need to try something new to me, and I'm being driven to this team. I believe it may have been 2 years ago, or possibly longer I had emails sent to my email box concerning 100 Days of Weight Loss by Linda, but I never went anywhere with it. Sometimes I'm trying too many things. Now I am feeling this will be a motivating time for me.

I definitely want to get the book too, so I don't know if it may be available at Wal-Mart. There are no book stores in my area where I shop. I suppose I may have to buy it on amazon, or does Linda sell them on a website? I only want to start with one book. I've never been one that reads a lot, but believe me I've bought many, many books. If it grabs me in interest I read it. I sure want to give this a try.

I'm really excited about this, I will be looking for feedback tomorrow.
Looking forward to becoming acquainted on this Team.

Sincerely, Janis

The great thing about Linda's self-help books is that there are small chunks each day - so as long as you check in every day, there's always another step along the road done.

Motivation is a topic well-covered in Linda's books. Which book have you ordered?

Motivation is such a huge problem for me on this journey, but I hope the book helps. SP is such a good program, I want to do my best. Ordered the book, anxious for it to get here. Motivation is the other problem for me, it sounds so good and sometimes easy, but I procrastinate with such bad excuses. I think we can find what we need on this site. Good luck to us both. emoticon

I am Jae. Married to my husband of 46 years. I have two grown children with families of their own. I have five grandchildren and one great great daughter...I also have two fur kitties who bring me joy.
I have Fibromyalgia, OsteoArthritis. and long standing depression. My husband has Dementia which has recently progressed to mid stages.Needless to say for me some days are more challenging than I can bear. It is not easy to be a caregiver and especially if the caregiver needs care. But with the Lords help I manage to get through everyday with gratitude knowing things can always be worse.
I started SparkPeople weighing 214. I now weigh 162. I would like to lose another thirty pounds. I am an emotional eater and I will always have to keep my emotions in check and learn not to lean on food for stress...
I have learned to take one day at a time. not to regret yesterday or worry about tomorrow. For as we know tomorrow is not promised to any of us.
When I am not busy taking care of my husband or the everyday decisions come up. I enjoy coloring, writing, music, and my computer...I was born with Spina Bifida ...which was difficult for my childhood but many life lessons learned along the way...This is my path that has been given to me..nothing left to do but learn to walk in joy with it.

The pain passes ~ only the beauty remains...

I am not new to Sparkpeople but new to this team. I am struggling with motivation. I read the portions available on Amazon and will order the book. I am in my 60's with some health issues. I have lost weight in the past and believe I can again. Right now I am back up to the highest weight I have ever been. I am choosing a plan and sticking with it. I have no support from dh at home, so I must use SP as support and motivation. Plus, my friends are no help, either. We eat for our get togethers on the weekends
I live in the Austin Texas area where it is HOT right now and I have two indoor kitties and no children or grandchildren. I like to do art work and crafts, but lately I am not motivated for that either. You see, I am a mess!!!

Great to see you!

You might find you can jog along with the new book we're doing by following Linda's blogs. Also, in the daily threads there are a couple of people who type out the main points.

Feel free to join in!

Hello! I'm Amanda! I was a part of this team sometime last year, but I got off track and didn't get back on track. But I'm back and I'm more than ready to be successful this time. I have lost 23 pounds since the beginning of May and I feel better than ever! I'm excited to be part of this team!

Hi, I'm Vicki, almost 62, and I have about 50 lbs. I still need to lose to be at a healthy weight for me. I lost 33 lbs. last year but this year I seem to be just yo-yo-ing with the same 5 lbs., back & forth.
I've been a part of spark people off & on for the past 10 years, so I'm a returning member to this team.

Hi Janet - so happy that you found us here - very active team, very focused on the work-in-hand!

We're currently on Day 22, but we regularly re-start the book, so if you stick with us, you cover it all eventually! I've been 'through the book' about eight times now and am still learning!

I hope you like it.

It's well worth getting the book if yoiu can - mine has been well-used! I think it's cheap on Amazon if you don't object to Amazon.

Starting at Day 1 is challenging on your own, so I suggest you set up a Report thread so that people can support you. If you find it too isolating, come and join us on whatever Day we're on .

We repeat the book about three times a year. So you won't miss much.

Hi all,

My name is Sherri. I got here from following Gill's blog and got the book from the library. It looks like I may have to buy it though! It looks like I'll be behind, but I'm going to start at Day 1 today.

I lost 30 pounds in 2016 and 10 in 2017 but now I've gotten stuck. I did get a Fitbit and I love it but I need to get my food under control.

Other than that, I will be 54 this year, single with one adult daughter.

I hope you really enjoy being here on this team. This is not a team that focusses too much on daily chat - you'll find that most of our posts are directly related to the work we are doing in the book. This helps us all keep moving forwards. Don't let yourselves get overwhelmed trying to 'catch up' just jump in right here and join the conversation on whatever Day we're on.

I am almost 65 (June). We have been married 44 years. We have 5 children, 2 dils, 1 sil, and our dd1 is engaged and will be married 2nd time in July. We have been blessed with 9 grandchildren 9 and under!
I have gone up and down with my weight since I was 13. I am definitely an emotional eater. My heaviest weight was 185. I am 5’1” and carry all my extra weight in my stomach, waist, midriff, and chest. I have been stuck around 132 for three years. I really would like to weigh 110 to be a healthy weight for my size.
I have been encouraged by this team that it is possible to lose the rest of my weight.

emoticon Team-mates! I'm Linda, and I'm a few days late in starting this 100 Days Challenge. But I'm perfectly happy to work harder over the next week to catch up.

It's important to me to finally come to terms with my weight and overall health. At 68 years old, I've not been doing anywhere enough to take care of myself for years. Will be focusing on not only weight loss but healthy eating and exercise for a path to better aging.

I'm just recovering from a first (and hopefully last) outbreak of shingles and realize my immune system isn't what it used to be. Weight loss will be one of the pillars of rebuilding that system. And I believe that this team will help provide the motivation and accountability that will push me on to accomplish my goals. Glad to be here and looking forward to getting to know you all.

I'm new to the Team and am looking forward to 100 days of weight loss.

I'm 70 yrs old and will be 71 in November. I'm 5'9" and used to be 5'11. My name is Carolyn but I also use Injoy:) My Hubby's name is Steve. I'm medically retired since 1995. I worked as a nurse, as an accountant and other miscellaneous jobs from working in a perceptual development lab, at a museum for an archaeologist and as a secretary. I'm a mother of two adults (ages 48 and 43) and have three grandchildren, all of them over eighteen. I'm originally from Louisiana; moved to East Texas and have lived in Illinois, Long Island New York, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and retired to Arizona. I'm only survivor of four children. Both my parents are deceased.

My husband and I used to travel periodically to attend car shows and have a restored Classic 1956 Ford F100. I don't go outdoors during the daytime during the summer because of the extreme heat (105 to 117 degrees) but the nights in Arizona are beautiful. Winter days are in the 70's and I love seeing the sunsets from my front porch nightly. I spend many of my summer evenings in our pool and feel blessed to have it!

I have a gorgeous French mastiff/boxer mix female dog (Miss Jasmine) who at 115 pounds still thinks she's a lap puppy. She'll be three years old in May.

I enjoy card crafting, adult coloring, reading and writing book reviews. I LOVE my life! I'm grateful to be alive. I adore my wonderful (longsuffering) husband of 40 years and love my family. I miss my daughter and grandchildren since they live in Washington and I moved to Arizona November 2008.

I enjoy: Reading, surfing the net, traveling, learning more about genealogy, watching recorded tv shows or movies. I like swimming or simply floating in the pool. I enjoy writing poetry and blogs and at some point will use enough discipline to get the 'book in me out'.

I will continue to learn new things, spend time with my Honey and appreciate life. I'm taking charge of my weight control journey and giving myself the time to learn and enjoy as I continue to lose weight and regain strength and energy. I believe that if I exercise and eat right following the 80/20 rule and believe that I can do it, that it will happen. A lot of times when I'm tempted to eat, I'll blog instead.

Joy is a Choice. Choose joy moment by moment.

When all else fails, persistence prevails.

Injoy:) Carolyn

Hi Folks!

I'm just dropping in to say Hello! I hope you are all doing well. This will be my 2nd attempt at this team and book. I will have to admit, I do have a most difficult time with staying consistent. But I will give it another go- as I feel I am in a good place-and ready to make some changes and also to learn about myself- through reflection and journal.

This still looks like a great/ helpful team! I can't wait to get started on emoticon ((March 5th)). I just hope I will be consistent and post daily...

I am also looking forward to hearing from other team mates... What works for them- what they have tried and what didn't work- etc...I'm OPEN to new ideas...

Let's do this!! Next Stop---- DAY 1!!!!!

Sparkhugs, emoticon
