Welcome! I agree with the comment below that a marathon in June if your longest run right is five miles might be too ambitious to actually enjoy yourself and avoid injury.

Have you looked at any training plans? Most plans have you running 10-13 miles for long runs at least 16 weeks out, and most people suggest you have a base of around 25 miles per week before you try to train for a marathon.

Good Luck! Running one in June would take a pretty serious commitment starting right now. There are some great Fall Marathons.

1. Want to run a marathon before I'm 50.
2. This year I'm 49.
3. Ran my first half-marathon in Summer 2011.
4. Have my eye on a marathon scheduled in June 2012...but haven't yet registered!
5. Training slowly - my long run this week is 5 miles, and I plan to increase this by 1 mile each week.
6. Love to run alone in the mornings, just as the sun is coming up.
7. I HATE treadmill runs, but rely on them during the winter!
8. I have the World's Most Beautiful Granddaughter - 4 months old today! Evelyn Elayne!
9. Could stand to use a few pounds, and I simply can't lose the belly jiggle - but, overall, I'm happy with my body - for the first time in my life!
10. I sing when I run.
