Hi!! My name is Coleen! I have a 12yr old stepson and a 2 yr old son! Both r very active (for the most part) so I though that I would lose weight quickly and easily...but then real life set in! and I started sitting in! Last summer my husband and I took the kids to Holiday World in Santa Claus Indiana. I was getting ready to get in line for a roller coaster and as a joke to myself sat in the example seats they have outside of the line so you can see if you "fit". I didn't fit! I will fit next year!! Also when looking at some pictures of me there I didn't know who the heck was standing next to the little one? Oh! thats me!...Gotta change that. Dragging the whole family to the YMCA on M,W, and F in the am (as long as i'm not working) and T & Thrs in the evenings. Gotta get this whole family moving. I plan on riding my bike with the baby in back! Gotta get moving!

Hi! I'm Heather, 34, and I live near San Diego.
I read the intro post about this team and I knew it was for me!
I've been active on SP for about a month and a half, and I've been lucky enough to meet some great SparkFriends. I've been consistently tracking my food and activity and I've learned a lot about myself and what I need to do just from tracking. Most of my activity is walking (I'm aiming for 8,000 steps a day now) and I do some DVDs at home, too.
I look forward to getting to know you all!

Hi there! I'm Ardyn, from Woodstock, GA. I'm a 38 year old wife and mother. I joined Spark last June, and managed to lose 15 pounds. Then I messed up during the holidays and found it again. In mid January, I decided that it was time to get off my A-hem and get serious about this weight loss thing. I've lost about 7 pounds so far, and I don't plan on slowing down!

Hello, all! I'm Megan, a 34 yr old single Air Force officer. I'm from Southern Illinois, but am stationed in the Florida Panhandle. I'm currently on a hot streak in terms of exercise, sorta hot streak on calories in. I know this team will keep me accountable and moving forward. Love the fact that this is a no whining zone. I know I've hurt some feelings in other threads ("What if you hate exercise?" among others) due to my propensity toward tough love, so I'll fit right in. I'm happy to be a part of the team and look forward to making progress with all of you.

Hell yeah!

Welcome to GOYAAM! I really believe the combination of healthy eating and fitness is the trick to turn this into a lifestyle change.

Hope you find yourself at home in our little team and join in our team chat and challenges.

We're about to announce a challenge soon that will take us through the holiday season so keep an eye out for it.

I've been hanging around a bit but never commented. Hi all, I'm Karen from the Kansas City area (pick a side, Missouri or Kansas, I've lived in and around both.)

I put on a lot of this weight gaming and not making the connection between the M&Ms I loved and my ever-expanding waistline and tight pants. Now I'm done and ready to move into a world where I don't balk at having my picture taken, I feel more confident about interacting with others, and I actually feel attractive.

A few years ago I did the Weight Watchers Core program and it worked well for me, but the component I was missing was movement. So, eventually, I plateaued and didn't know what to do about it. I didn't gain all of that weight back, but I did gain back about half of it. (Started at 260 and got down to 230)

So today I sit again at the 230 pound marker, poised for greatness and ready to move beyond. I'm ready to get moving and keep moving!

Hello everyone. I'm Sarah. I'm a 34 yr old mother of 4 wonderful children. 2 girls, Skyler (12) and Ashley (10) and 2 boys, Dalton (8) and Rahmad (5 months). I am married to an amazing man who I love very much.

Currently, I am 206 lbs and I'd like to get down to around 145 lbs. I started this seriously (I've been on sparkpeople for about 3 yrs now) a month ago at 215 lbs, so at least I'm making some progress. I've been big for as long as I can remember, weighing about 120 lbs in 3rd grade. I'm tired of being overweight. I'm ready to be a healthier wife and mom. My kids need me to set an example for them and the one I'm setting right now is not good.

I'm Billie. I live in Calgary, Alberta. I'll be 33 next week.

I've been fat my whole life & I hate hating myself. It takes up so much energy.

I know GOYAAM is the solution to my weight problems, but it's so much easier to sit on the couch and whine, ya know? lol

I'm looking forward to accountability and the occasional kick in the ahem when I need it!

Hey GOYAAM Gang! My name is Cari. My Soul Sista DazzlinDancer sent me this way. I just turned 41 on July 3rd. I'm enjoying the best overall health that I've ever had. I am a singer/entertainer - which is my first love and passion.

I have recently had the rude awakening. My mother, step-father, and most recently my DH (dear husband) have all been having some major health issues. Most of these problems are avoidable or can be managed through a healthy lifestyle. My new passion in life is to motivate and help others live a more active and healthy lifestyle. It is heartbreaking to see so many people.... YOUNG people suffering and dying from obesity related diseases. This is unacceptable! Dying or just simply "not living" because of a preventable disease is horrible. I want to help turn this around.

I am currently recovering from carpal tunnel release surgery, so my workouts are not at the intensity that I would normally do. Right now, I walk and do lower body and standing core work. By Sunday, I should be able to get back into my Turbo Kick training and other workouts. I am going for my Gold Turbo Kick Instructor certification on September 25th. The following day, I am participating in the 5k Race for the Cure.

Even with my ambitions, I need an @$$ kick now and again, LOL! I think I am going to really enjoy this group! emoticon

I am Andrea and I am excited to join this team because in the past I have dieted, exercised, lost the weight, then went back to old habits. This time I want to lose these last 8 pounds healthfully with habits that I can maintain for a lifetime.
My plan for September is to start with at least 30 minutes of vigorous exercise everyday and 5 fruits and vegetables.

Hi everyone! I'm Michele and I am so psyched to have found this team. I joined a couple days ago after I spent the evening sitting around complaining and stuffing my face and napping. When I woke I decided to quit complaining and just do what needed to be done - eat right and exercise. My thoughts seemed to match up so here I am. I already started coming up with my GOYAAM plan for next month!

Hey all,

I joined because I've gone two weeks now with NO exercise, and I've hated it. I need some incentive to get off my ahem and get moving already.

Unfortunately, I'm headed out for vacation (family reunion time) on Monday, and tomorrow is quite jam-packed. Looks like it's going to be a lot of sneak-attack workouts for a week.

When I get back, I have up to twelve personal training sessions waiting for me. I'll probably only get to use eight in the time I have allotted to me, but I'll do the best I can to work in as many as I can.

OK, well, I just wanted to say "Hi." I will get to know the group better when I get back, I'm sure.

Amanda

I'm due with Baby #2 in September of 2013.

I'm in a high risk pregnancy, and am limited on what I can do. More importantly, I've been told not to watch calories or fat grams, but I do need to monitor my carbs very closely.

Hi, my name is Cindy, this is my first week with SP and I am so thrilled at what I have seen so far. I am looking to be motivated back to exercising. emoticon I have become somewhat of a couch potato and that is so NOT ME! I love to exercise, I love the gym, I love to swim emoticon , but life just flat out got in the way.

I am 56 emoticon , work full time at a very stressful job, attend college classes on line spending about 25 hours a week emoticon , take care of an aging parent, and spend about 8-10 hours a week with Mom. Life is FULL to say the least, but just had a talk with Mom and had to get her to realize if I don't take care of me, there will be no one to take care of her. My brother is not going to do it and she WILL end up in a nursing home. Not where she wants to or needs to be. I need something that is going to push me to move and break the bad habit I have developed.
emoticon Love Kettlebell exercises, 20 min. and I have worked up a sweat, and could feel the difference IMMEDIATELY! My pastor recommended it! emoticon

I have been a member of this site since July 2007. And using its tools in combination with sheer determination, I got down to 170 pounds and had been able to maintain for nearly two years.

However, recently, I have been lax and the numbers on the scales have crept back up.

Today is the day that I start anew.

Let's GET, GET, GET IT!!!!

May your life be filled with miracles and your cup overflow with blessings.

Hello to everyone. I live in the snowbelt of Ohio with husband of 44 years and my kitty. I have two grown children.

In 2000, I lost 60 pounds. I have to work on keeping the weight off, especially since I have knee arthritis. It is work, as you all know. For those who think that those who have just a few pounds to lose, remember that our work is never done, as maintenance is always a work in progress. The compliments stop after your friends get used to your new shape, and it is necessary to keep up the fight and stay healthy.

I just joined the GOYAAM team and I want to keep up the challenge to do 300 minutes of fitness each week, even after the 21 day challenge is over.

You can find me working out with free weights, or on the elliptical at the gym. I am the one sweating buckets, listening to music, probably working too hard to talk. On an easy day, I may talk a fast walk outside.

Oh, when work out with weights, I wobble a bit, due to poor balance. I had a stoke several years ago and my balance is permanently affected. The stroke triggered depression and that is the main reason I gained weight in the first place. I am still getting stronger, so I am pleased with that.

My name is Jessica and I am 35 and live in Madison, AL. I have been a single mom for a long time and I have finally gotten remarried in October of last year. I have struggled with my weight for a long time. I had the attitude of if I was fat people would leave me alone and I wouldn't have to be open with people. I made the choice 2 and 1/2 years ago to work on my attitude and my feeling about myself and in doing that lost about 40 lbs. I am still far from reaching my desired weight but I have managed to keep off most of that weight. I have decided I would really love to have some help reaching my goal and that is how I found Spark. I really look forward to meeting everyone and sharing experiences with everyone.

I'm back. Things have settled down a little since starting the new team that I lead, and I miss the encouragement of GOYAAM! So I am going to see if I can keep up.

Blessings,
Darlene

Hugs to you,

Hi All.. My name is Carol Lee and I just rejoined SP.
( i had some negative people find me so I changed my name.) On December 31st,2009 i took my life back from an out of shape person who was temporarily subletting it. I honestly wish that I had heard about Spark People sooner, I would have definitely been here. I look forward to getting in on the challenges and getting to know everyone.

Hi, I'm Cat! I've been working hard for the last few months to make exercise part of my daily life and I'm finally having success! I feel strange on days when I DON'T hit the gym or go for a run!
I'm excited to have found this team because frankly, that's exactly what we all need ... to get off our et ceteras and start MOVING!

Hi all!

I'm Malin, 32 year old from Sweden.
Right now I'm studying architecture and I really need to GOYAAM since I mostly just sit in front of the computer all day long.

I made a bet with a friend that I'll have a six pack in 18 months do that's what I'm aiming for.
Since my body is dominantly mesomorph I get very big bulky muscles easily, I used to hate that since I din't think it was very feminine. But I guess over the years I've realized I shouldn't compare myself to people with a more delicate constitution then me. I'll never be a frail elfin waif of a girl but I can be a healthy, muscular, curvy woman. :)

Lets GOYAAM! :D
