I'm a 30-something wife & mother of 2 boys. When I first started with SP, my only goal was to see the #s on the scale go down. Needless to say, that only lasted about a week.

In 2012, I had an emergency appendectomy which led to 2 more surgeries over the next year & a half. The appendectomy led to the discovery of a ruptured ovarian cyst, followed by surgery to remove another cyst in which it was discovered I had a severe case of endometriosis and one of my ovaries and tubes were nonfunctional and were removed. Next came 8 months of Lupton treatments. I was still having pain and discomfort, so after numerous, and I mean NUMEROUS, testing it was discovered that my gallbladder was malfunctioning. One year after my second surgery I had my gallbladder removed.

I'm happy to report that I am pain free! However, I think I'm taking more meds than my grandmother. :) But the stress of illness and recovery over that timeframe has taken it's toll and resulted in a weight gain of about 30 lbs.

In January 2014 I once again signed in to SP and found it to be just what I needed to start this time for a healthier lifestyle. I lost 10 lbs in 4 weeks just by drinking more water and tracking my calories and exercise. Again, as Murphy's law states, I was once again plagued by my old nemesis "migraines" and wondered off track again.

With the headaches under control and the weather finally starting to feel like spring, I am making a commitment to myself to start tracking again and this time, publicly. I hope that I can be an inspiration to others, as well as, connect with others who have had similar experiences.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post! I look forward to being a part of this great support system.
