Hello,
I am just trying to get started again. I am working on health for myself and for people that I work with. I have always had issues with weight...but of course, looking back part of that was self image. I have beloonged to SP in the past but have alwys just followed along and have only half-heartedly participated. I used to work out regularly and just let things get in the way. So here's to a new start.
I just recently lost my Mom, and am still grieving, but I see people everyday that make my problems look small. For anyone who is a caregiver to family.....for any reason, but especially Alzheimers, my prayers and thoughts are with you. It's really hard to take care of yourself in this situation. Blessings.

Hi all! I'm Erica, 28, from WNY. I joined back in December, and then fell off the wagon...but, I'm back and ready to finally finish what I started. I'm hoping to get a bit more involved this time, so that I can feel more accountable. I have about 15-18 pounds until my goal, and haven't really ever been so close before. I'll be looking to all of you for direction, and insider tips! Have a good day!

Hello everyone - Sue here. I'm from TX; 50+; always been thin until the 50's!!! I know no moderation and am working at that. I have lost and gained 10 of my 16 lb weight gain all year long. Yesterday I wore a pair of jeans and was utterly disgusted with myself - a real eye opener for me!!! My goal is to lose 10 lbs by 03/01/2010 and to maintain that weight through moderation and exercise. I'm going to track everyday, do my Wii Your Shape for 30 min 5 days a week, and try to get some walking in (oh yeah - I'd like to be able to jog a bit too but my body hasn't warmed up to that idea). Not glad to be back, but determined!

HI everyone...like others, I started back in April and fell by the wayside...gaining some weight especially in the last month, which was tough for many reasons. I'm so glad you decided to have us reintroduce because I wasn't sure if I had to join another "team" if I re'start...glad you are back Linda...

tracked food today which is a big help for me.

Good Morning All :)

My name is Mikal and I joined SP last March. I was doing really well and then made excuses. I am back with a new fire this year and ready to go :D

I had lost 50lbs and have gained 10 of that back...never again. I spent a lot of time over the holidays rethinking my goals and have decided to focus on 2lbs per week. It's a much more manageable and less daunting number than 100!! I know part of my problem was that it just started to feel impossible last year. I restarted my journey on Jan 4th...and my first weigh in I lost 5lbs...3 over the goal of 2...and that feels great!!

I look forward to chatting with all of you more and sharing your successes :D

It really is all about tracking our food BREEZIB.

To lose the weight, you pretty much have to do Cardio.

You can do it! I'm so glad you came back to the team! We are here for you!

My name is Brenda. I'm in Sacramento, CA. I've been using Sparkpeople off and on this year.. I took the last quarter of the year... which turned out to be a bad idea (I gained 10 pounds)... but I am back and committed to losing weight and exercising. Tracking my food and exercise should help keep me on focused on task at hand... Good luck everyone!

Hi Pepper586!

On your SparkPage - look to the upper right corner and click on Edit My Page.

Now scroll down towards the bottom until you see the weight ticker - you can choose the style and the marker. You can also choose to say your weight or just how much you want to lose.

I'm Jen. I'm 35, work full time, and have 2 great kids 11 and 9. I live in Michigan and it's serioulsy cold here! I joined to get my weight into the healthy BMI range. I did really well for a solid 6 months and got down to a weight I'm sure I hadn't seen since Freshman year of high school! The last 3 months I've struggled, and I gained some of it back, but not all! My goal remains healthy BMI AND maintaining it when I get there. What I'm amazed about is how fit I got just doing my Firm DVDs! What a great feeling! This is by far the best thing out there for me and I'm really thankful to be a part of this class!

Congrats on the wedding!!
I'm Liz, I joined Sparkpeople in April, but I never got around to using it. With the new year, I am really makig an effort to make goals and stick to them. I have never been a small perso, I've been 5' 11" since I was 11, but I have always been athletic and healthy. Recently I'm finding it really challenging to do everyday things that used to come so easily to me, things like sports, running, or even walking up stairs! So while I'd love to look better (I'm in my early 20's, isnt this when I'm supposed to look my best?!:)), what I'd really love to do is be able to go hiking and play football and run up stairs without feeling so winded! So far, Ive been keeping to my diet, but its only been 6 days, so fingers crossed!

There is no doubt that sparks has helped each one of us in some way. I did not lose much weight either, but I have the commitment to think about what I eat every day, and to record it every day that I can. That alone is a change that will help us at least stay at the weight we are at (and not gain any more) and lose veeeeeeery slowly, but lose a little weight. Add to that the times we exercise, and the times we truly commit, and we are definitely on the winning path!

Hi group,

I have been periodically dropping in and out. My schedules are hectic. I get to read about all of your great accomplishments. I have made some progress with my weight management, but I know that I can do better. I really enjoy the great spirit and encouragement that each of you give. I am going to get back on the path and proceed to reach my goal.
Thank you for being there. I will turn 41 on Thursday, so I am off to a new start.

Steph

Hi,

My name is Patti, and I live in Texas. I have had overall success as the year has gone by since I started with SP. Now, after taking a "hiatus" durng all of December I am working to get back on watching what I eat, tracking, and regular exercise.

This year I need to focus more on the simple things - some exercise at least 6 days a week and tracking what I eat (no matter what it is!).

Thanks!

Hi!
I am Natacha, I am turning 38 in February 2010, I have 2 sons aged 10 and almost 8. I work (a lot), and I spend lots of time with my boys and my hubby. I travel a lot as well, mostly for work, so my routine is not always consistent.
However, I have to say that starting sparks has been amazing for me! I have only lost 6 pounds, but I have LEARNED so much! I have watched what I eat consistently throughout the year, and I have made exercise a priority. I feel really good at the weight I am now, and I am healthy. I had envisioned losing a bit more, but my body changed and I am fine whether I lose more weight or not. I am still diligently watching what I eat, and exercising, and despite my various pauses throughout the year, I find that I can finally (since I started sparks) say that I eat well and exercise, and that is a HUGE accomplishment!
Good luck to you all, and I hope that we are still as large a group as when we started!

Hi, my name is Linda and I was the original leader for this class team. I took a short sabbatical for time problems but I'm back!!

I have lost 90 lbs with SparkPeople and it took 16 months. To lose this weight I practiced a lot of Cardio and I do mean a lot! I was walking up to 3 hours every day with my neighbor who needed the walking due to RA and Cancer.

This year I intend to focus on Strength Training to try to tone up some of my flab.
