Hi

Thanks so much for writing regarding my note. I have not heard of a PT place around here that has a pool. This is the reason that I went to the rec center with the classes.

You should check with local therapy places that have a pool to see if they offer any night classes---that is where i go---and because it is a warm water pool, it makes a big difference in how my muscles feel. Surprised he didn't send you for PT at a place like that. Have you been to a pain management doctor---my dh has been having back issues and the procedure he did for him has really made a difference for him.

I do water aerobics classes but some days I can not get up and around early enough for class. On those days I go to the pool and jog in the lazy river part of our pool. I also use styrofoam "weights" to do exercises and for deep water exercise. I too have back issues, plus neuropathy in my feet. Water exercises are all I can manage.

The Team has a chat thread about water walking and jogging www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_mes

Maybe that will give you some ideas. Check with your fellow walkers/joggers about how they work their workouts. And enjoy!

Hi

My back started hurting since December. My doctor told me to start water exercises. He told me not to do any walking on land until my pain goes away which has not yet. I have been on short-term disability from work since January but returning to work on Monday with much less improvement that I had wished for. I was taking water classes that are offered at the Rec center near my house but they are only offered during the day. When I return to work next week, I am going to the pool and walking on my own. I hope to get encouragements and good tips from this group to help me through my journey to recovery.

Thanks emoticon
