Hi:

I live in Attleboro, too. I have occasionally used the Attleboro Y. It's a good facility - plenty of cardio and strength training machines and it has a child care drop in service.

I'm actually a member of the Hockomock YMCA that has branches in Foxboro, North Attleboro and Franklin with Fitness Centers. Hock also offers a drop in child care service in the three branches that have fitness centers.

The N.A. Y offers Yoga, Spinning, Step and other group exercise classes.

My family chose the Hockomock Y because it offers more weekend activities for the kids. I really love it. The child watch staff is very friendly, the staff in the fitness centers will give you orientation to the machines and answer any questions you have as you use the equipment.

I actually lost about 50 lbs. using the Hock Y (mostly through increased activity) but put some of it back on when I slacked off going.

I've started going again regularly. I use all three branches so if anyone ever wants to meet for an evening or weekend workout, please let me know. Just post a response to my message and we can arrange a time to workout together.

Ever play tennis in the rain? Now that is surely a workout...of course, it needs to be somewhat warm out so you don't catch your death out there, and you must not mind getting wet....lol....the balls get very wet and heavy and after playing in the pouring rain for an hour with a friend of mine, our upper bodies were very sore the next day! It was awesome!

I lived in Natick for 4 years, so I know where to work out there, but it's too far to drive just to get some exercise. I hope I can find some tennis courts, it's such a great spring time activity. I love having something to look forward to when the warm weather returns (not that it's quite left yet).

I wish I could help you out...but I'm in Fall River...I know where all the outdoor tennis courts are out in this area, but am unfamiliar with Attleboro. I hope someone can help ya :)

You are new to Attleboro, where were you before that?

Hi all,

I'm new to Attleboro and I'm in search of places to work out! I know there is a Y in Attleboro and Norton so that's an option. Currently I work out in my living room, but it would be nice to have a change of scenery once in a while.

Does anyone know where there are free outdoor tennis courts? Anyone have a favorite Yoga/ Pilates studio in the area?
