I picked up a couple of Scandavian writers in an effort to replace Larrson. I really like " The Snowman" by Nesbo. His writing reminded me of Michael Connelly. "The hypnotist" was not nearly as good.

All of us love to read. My difficulty is sitting down and staying down to read. I begin and then think of something that should be done and go do it. Therefore, my reading gets long breaks.
Currently I am reading The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest, I have put off reading this because I loved the other two books and hate for this to end. Will have to find another writer who has the intrigue as Steig Larssen did.

i have always been a reader...can even recall reading cereal boxes when very small. but reading is a non-athletic event. i haven't tried listening to books as i walk and don't plan to. it is the printed word that draws me to it, same as y'all.

I, too. am new to this team. Reading is probably part of the reason I need to lose weight. If the book is good, the housework, yardwork, and gym don't happen. I read books, a Kindle, and an iPad. After I retired in May, I arranged my "To Be Read" (TBR) pile in order of copyright date. We are talking about 300 books purchased over the years. I am currently reading books in the "2006" pile.

I read primarily crime fiction. I also read about crime fiction. I subscribe to 6 magazines and e-zines that contain reviews, articles about authors, and info about happenings in the crime fiction genre. I also attend Bouchercon many years, which is the world Murder Mystery Convention.

I like the printed word, I have no intention of purchasing an e-reader of any sort. I can borrow books from the library or order them on line which I do much too often. I am a snobird and volunteer at my FLorida library in the winter. I pick up books at yard sales, when the library has a book sale and get some from my family members when they are finished with them. I am retired so nothing keeps my nose out of books.

I think my life started in a library and progressed from there. I love reading; e-books, print books, fiction, non-fiction, any genre, you name it, I'll read it.

At this point, I go through reading spurts. While I'm in classes, I don't read nearly as much, but on breaks it's a different story.

I'm a little slow on participation right now as I'm still figuring out what is involved in participation. Once I get the hang of things, I'll definitely be adding my voice to the mix.

I'm definitely looking forward to being here.
