As I wrote on the introductions thread, I'm also the previous poster, Lady_Cascadia. I still need to work on getting better sleep and following a schedule. I stopped counting calories, because it was driving me crazy! I had some problems with anemia, and had to stop working out so much, but I'm back to 30 minutes of daily exercise again. Yay me!

"Do you have goals that you work towards? Short term, medium and long term?
Come and share, and maybe get that extra bit of support that'll keep you going."

Short Term Goals--
I'm trying to lose six lbs., follow a strict sleep schedule, get enough protein, and do all the dishes once a day.

Medium Term Goals--
I'm trying to lose 12 lbs., to be normal BMI. I want to go back to my volunteer job. I want to start making cookies at least once a week, so that I have something when my family is indulging in other things that I can't eat, like cake, donuts, ice cream, and pies. And I want to be able to give cookies to my friends who are homeless. Cookies are the perfect hand food! And my friends really need the calories, because they don't usually eat enough.

Long Term Goals--
I'm trying to lose 54 lbs., to reach my ideal weight. I want to be able to fit into any of my small clothes that I've been saving, from before I gained weight seven years ago. I didn't gain that full amount in seven years, but almost all of it. All but 8 lbs. I'd like to get a job at a movie theater, so I can get free tickets and some more spending money.

All of my current goals are focused on getting better sleep. I'm also counting my calories and I work out once a day for at least 30 minutes.

My goal for this week is Nutrition Tracking - daily.
So far, I'm not doing well. I need to get myself started!

I just updated my own page for my goals - long term and short term - and my achievements.
I don't know when I ever did that - but it's good to see my thoughts available to me, in writing, and that I can work from here.

I intend to be able to walk for some of the local Walking Festival walks in May 2015.
I am going start a new streak of 10 minutes walking, per day.

For the Summer 5% Challenge, I have opted for Maintenance, rather than losing more weight just yet.
I want to give my body and my skin the opportunity to catch down with my weight loss.

I still have a way to go to get to my ultimate goal.
But at an age where my skin and stuff has lost a load of elasticity.
So, *slowly* is going to have to be even more of a watch word for me, than it used to be.

However, I'm happy enough with where I am, just now.
That has to count for something!

Week 1 of the Spring 5% Challenge is halfway through, already.
I have managed to get my exercise in a bit better this week, and feel a wee bitty more focussed.

I'm sure you'll manage to get into the 100s. I'm desperate to get there too but I've been stuck on 200 and 201 for weeks now so the Spring Challenge could be just the thing to get me motivated.
Mother's Day didn't help with my lovely sons and their partners both bringing me CHOCOLATE and I have to eat it, it would be so ungracious not to, wouldn't it?
In my defence I did open the boxes and hand them round when they were all here but they very politely only took one or two and since Iain is diabetic I have to eat the rest myself. Life can be really hard sometimes but maybe not with chocolate.
I loved the hula hooping. I'm a wee bit older than you and remember everyone taking one to school every day after pestering our mums to go to Woolies to buy one. I think they were about sixpence each. Changed days.

Fell by the wayside last year but back on track now.

My start is this Saturday, 5 April, with the start of the Spring 5% Challenge.

Who knows, but by the end of May, I might just be a wee 9lbs from breaking into the 100s?!?!?

And my cheers, of course emoticon

I, too, was around that weight in my teen years but lost 30 pounds (about 2 stone?) in late high school by just being more active. Then, in college, I gained back the 30 pounds and was that weight when I married. That's what I call my "old fat weight" and would DEARLY love to be that "fat" now. SO:

Long Term Goal: 150

Interim Goal: Old Fat Weight 170

Short (ish) Term Goal: 200 by my anniversary in September. I can do this by losing about 8 pounds a month or two pounds a week.

Do you have any rewards planned for making your goals? I'd like to ask my hubby for a trip to Scotland when I get to my long-term goal. He won't believe I can do it and so may agree. THAT would be an incentive!!

My major goal is weight-loss, because I'm sure that other things will either accompany or follow-on.

LONG TERM -
I would dearly love to be back down to 12 stone, or 168 lbs.
Through my mid-to late-teens, that was my weight, and I never felt overweight or anything. I also led a very active life.
I haven't put an end date on this yet, because I need to get through short term and medium term, and prove to myself that I CAN DO IT!

MEDIUM TERM -
To get below 200 lbs (14 stone would be 196 lbs).
Before Easter 2015.

SHORT TERM -
209 lbs
By the end of the Spring 5% Challenge.
Then consolidate, allow a plateau. Then get started on my Medium Term.
At which point I'll also have to re-define my short term and possibly also my medium term goals, and timing!

I don't have any "real" goals, as in SMART ones: Smart, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and whatever T means. I think that is a real reason I am just basically treading water, so to speak. I have some things I'd really like to do, so if I use them as rewards, interim AND final, I might make more progress. One goal SHOULD be to check in on Spark People every day, but it competes with Facebook for my time. Maybe if my luck with points on the wheel or bonus team points were better, I'd be more excited about daily check-ins. I should just pretend they are of no account and just concentrate on food-tracking, which is a HUGE, HUGE help! I'll start again tomorrow, since it's late in the day here. Thanks for introducing this topic!

I work my weight loss along with the Spark People 5% Challenges, or try to. And use the couple of weeks or so between challenges to ease off slightly, to try to avoid plateau-ing.

Well, that's my intentions and my theory.
