Hello Everyone,
I have had my Fitbit since 2009 and i have to say i love it. I have fallen off the wagon with my food logging and weight loss and am trying to get back on track. I have not been here in ages but i saw a post on the Fitbit site and thought this would be a great way to get myself back to where i want to be..
I have gained about 20 pounds over the last two years and only being 5'2 it really shows. The last time i weighed myself i was at 140. I want to get back to 120-125 by my birthday New Years Day. I plan to start logging my meals and staying true to what i write..that is the main thing..lol

Thanks for listening to my rambling...lol.. if you qant to add me on the Fitbit site here is my link..I am vanessa40

http://www.fitbit.com/user/229KN3

I look forward to getting to know you all

Hi, everyone. I'm Kathy and have been with SP since last January. I've lost 32 pounds and have been maintaining my weight for the past 5 months. I was thrilled when I found Fitbit associated with SP. Especially with winter soon to be upon us and the challenge of staying active in Vermont. I can check in with my Fitbit throughout the day and make sure I make my 10,000 steps. AND it syncs with SP. Love this. Love being on the Fitbit Team.

Hi all. I'm Tracey. I've been fighting the weight loss battle off and on since my youth. I had lost over 40 pounds but then I changed jobs, met my husband, was further away from my gym, etc. I put it all back on. So I'm fighting to lose it all again. It's a battle some days to get where I need to be, but I'm definitely trying to fit everything in. I'm a pretty positive person. Mother of 3, married 3 years ago.last August to a wonderful man. I can't imagine my life without him. Learning to plan my meals, which is something new for me.

Take Care and God bless,

Tracey W.

Hi I am Terrie. I have been on SP since January 2011. I love that Fitbit is connected with SP! I also have a Body Media device that I use everyday. I have a goal to lose 40 pounds and walk at least 10,000 steps per day. So far so good.

Hi,

I'm from the UK, near London. I've been on SP for a while, but I've only just ordered my fitbit. Very exited, as I'm gadget girl! I can't wait for it to arrive, and see how it joins to sparkpeople, whom I find a great motivator.

Editing my post to say I did the sync and it works great but I disconnected it only because it is all too much tracking for me.

PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU DISCONNECT FB FROM SPARK, YOU ALSO HAVE TO GO TO FITBIT AND DISALLOW ACCESS.

I have done that from another app I was using it on. I am just going to sync with the Fitbit site for now.

I would like to stay on this team, though, great info here.

The team leaders on Chair Exercise encouraged me to try the fitbit. I was very pleased with the product from the packaging to the directions. I've only had it a few days. I have been on SP since March 2011. I've lost my weight and am gaining strength everyday.

Actually Margaret the FB does not do a very good job in cycling activities. It really is meant top track steps while either walking or running. It might be best to log that activity separately. With regards to your floors count. The FB will credit you with a floor for every 10' increase in elevation. If you were cycling on a hilly terrain that would account for your high floor count.

Hi--I have been using my fitbit for a little over a month--had stopped using SP so am glad to see the two unite!

I travel the globe and it is great to be able to consistently track steps. I am in India right now and it motivates me to get to the 10,000 and to the gym.

Good luck, all

Hello. My name is Shawna, and I'm not new to Sparkpeople, but I'm new to this group and to using fitbit. I am back here to Sparkpeople after trying it on my own and going through a really rough time. I am determined to climb out of this pit I'm in and get healthy for me, for my husband and my son. I look forward to meeting people and getting and giving support.

I'm Margaret from Colorado. Got my Fitbit late Saturday, so just one full day so far. I have a question that probably has been answered before. My main passion is cycling. Yesterday I used the fitbit and started an activity for my 31-mile ride. It thought I had walked/climbed, but not cycled. How do I "change" the activity so that it adjusts for cycling? I use a GPS as well, so I know how many calories I burned and how far/ how fast I went. My GPS told me I burned about 1300 calories. The Fitbit activity had something like 283 calories burned, even though it thought I had climbed almost 100 flights. Obviously this is a huge difference.

One of the main reasons I bought the Fitbit Ultra was to track my sleep. I suffer from insomnia, and I thought it would be great to know how well I'm really sleeping. One thing I discovered is that if you're still enough, it counts it as sleep, even though you're not sleeping. Does anyone else notice this??

So far I like the fitbit. I can continue to log my cardio activities directly into SparkPeople as I've been doing. The Fitbit does incent me to move more.

@Carol don't be discouraged that it resets at midnight I also work late but hey it all averages out 24 hours is 24 hours. So don't think you loose steps from 11 to midnight it is added to todays steps so no loss. =0)

I just got mine last week and love it.. got one for my husband too and he's fascinated... actually made a point of climbing a bunch of stairs today while we were out.... and the dog gets walked a lot more!

I know it makes me consciously not be so sedentary. So far so good.

I'm a teacher, have about 50 more pounds to lose (I've lost 70 plus so far, so a bit over halfway.) I'm mostly concerned with being healthy and doing things that will make lasting habits so I don't ever have to lose these pounds again!

I am a grandmother for the first time.. she's four months old and splendiferously perfect. I am the wife of one (42 years) and mother to two sons. Life is so good!

I like mine, but don't like that it resets at midnight as I wear it to work. I work the 11p-07:30 shift at the hospital here and get alot of walking done at work. So, I have been losing the steps from 11p-12a.

I love my fitbit I have had it now for almost 2 years and have close to 5 million steps and close to 2100 flights of stairs. Love seeing the numbers climb. Very frustrating when I put it on the charger and forget to put it back on. Like today. LOL I wish the fitbit downloaded all this information to this link instead of making our count start at the day you join this challenge. Hummm maybe its to make me have to work harder to catch the coaches. Like that is even possible. LOL Have a great week everyone lets keep moving.

I have been on Sparkpeople since mid September. I just received my FitBit device. This should make it easier to count/record steps. Wonderful!!

Good morning. I've been wearing my Fitbit for about three months and truly love it. I've lost 17 pounds in that time span. I also do silly things to increase my number of daily steps like marching in place when I'm washing and drying my hands.

I love my fitbit and am really glad to have found this group. I received my fitbit in July and since then have lost 10 lbs. Still have 65 lbs to go. I love seeing how many steps I take each day and never realized how little I really moved. I have begun to walk or jog in place to get to that 10000 steps by the end of the day. I figure it is more movement than I would do sitting on my couch.

*waves* Hi everyone! I ordered the Zip and it shipped today. I'm looking forward to trying it, as I've never had one before. I'm curious to know if it will also track exercises other than walking/running? I do enjoy doing various aerobic DVDs, like Ellen Barrett, Leslie Sansone, Jackie Warner, and Jillian. I suppose if you are moving and stepping it would register, but what about movements that are more in place? I guess I'll have to try it and see.

Anyway, I can't wait til it arrives! :-) Here's hoping it will encourage me to move even more!

I just received my fitbit in the mail today. I have it synced with sparkpeople and hope this will help keep me motivated to do more and eat right. I have been on SparkPeople since February and was doing great, but have stalled out. I am needing a jump start and this should do the trick.

Thanks for the post, Ally. I was able to order the Fitbit One from Best Buy online and pick it up at the store today. I had originally pre-ordered it from amazon, but when I went to take it out of my shopping cart it said "currently not available" so who knows when I would have received it if I would have kept my order on amazon. I haven't taken it out the box and set it up yet, but I'm getting ready to do that now. Happy Fitbit-ing!

Just got my Fitbit Ultra today. Hi, I'm Dr. B. I know I need help with sleep, which is a big reason I opted for the Ultra. Looking forward to getting more active, rather than sitting on the couch.

Thanks for the reply Ally, you are lucky to have been able to access the One "early" I'm really looking forward to getting mine. Hopefully by the end of next week, although I live in Spain and need to order it from the UK so it could take a little longer to get here. Hope you enjoy using your Fitbit, will be interested to hear how you get on.

Linda xx
