I just picked up a Fitbit One. I have always been curious about the number of steps that I take at work! I guess I will find out starting tomorrow.

Hello Everyone,

I'm a proud Fitbit owner (I've broken three - two FitBit Ultra's and one Fitbit One). I'm a little tough on my Fitbits and have found that wearing them against my skin is one of the worst things I can do - even the sweatproof ones.

Anyway, I do so love my fitbit!

Hello everyone. I received my FitBit One on Saturday, and I've been so impressed... my bathroom scale died Monday, so I just got an Aria scale today. I'm also looking forward to getting a Flex very soon :)

So far the most enlightening thing about having the Fitbit is learning how much sleep I'm NOT getting. I knew I didn't sleep very well, but I didn't realize how bad it was until I saw the graph. Now I understand why I sometimes have a hard time keeping my eyes open in the afternoon...

I'm just getting to know the FitBit products and SparkPeople, and I'm glad to be invited to this group!

Hi! My name is Lisa and my husband surprised me with the Fitbit One for my birthday on Monday. I've never heard of this little lovely and I just love little gadgets. Sadly, I need things like FB and SP to help keep me motivated. (Being healthy and feeling good aren't enough, apparently!) I've been doing Insanity for about 2 weeks and am seeing some promising results. I really enjoy walking or riding my bike, but it's hard to get out of the house, especially with a 7 year old and the cruddy weather we've had this spring in Chicagoland. I love that FB and SP sync up! Anway, i thought I'd intro myself now that I'm back to tracking my food and my fitness. i'm not sure I will get to 10,000 steps a day (but I may just do that many steps in Insanity, I haven't actually tried it yet since i just got it.

I received my Fitbit One from Amazon yesterday. Tried to get it all set up then, but the Fitbit website was having server issues. Apparently they were fixed because I was able to get on and set up late last night. Yay, because I get to start my first full day of Fitbit today! I managed to log my sleep lastnight (it was amazingly acurate) and put in 7,200 steps before work! Great start to the day! I think I am going to LOVE this Fitbit!

Just got my fitbit one and all set up and today will be the first day using it. I love that I can hook it in my bra and it's hidden....no more big clip on pedometer on my belt. I love that.
Did I read a while back that fitbit sincs with sparks or was I dreaming that?
Hope you all have a terrific day.

Hey everyone! My name is Marie and I love my Fitbit One. It motivates me to get off the couch. I signed up for a local 12 week training program sponsored by my YMCA to train for a 5K (very similar to the couch to 5K program) and am so excited to use my Fitbit. I have around 95 pounds to lose.

Hi, I'm Becky and I just got my fitbit flex and I love it. I hope to get an extimate of my daily activity and improve it little by little everyday. I am not the active but this will make me aware of my shortcomings and I will strive to do better. I am always wanting to lose weight and sometimes I do and then stop. A group of us at work joined WW a few weeks ago and this has been very motivating and I am losing again.

Thank you for welcoming me, unfortunately I lost my fitbit this past weekend, and have not been able to find it. It will be a while before I can afford a new one. When I do get a new fitbit I'll introduce myself properly-now if I could just figure out how to turn everything off.

I was not getting the 10,000 steps that we are all suppose to strive for each day. BUT I was making progress each day. That's what I think is important. I was up to over 5,000. Then I lost my Fitbit. I should have my new one by the end of the week.

It has helped me in so many ways. I work full time too. So it does make getting in as many steps as I'd like to get difficult for me. I'm no spring chicken, and I have my DD, GS and GD living with me. The GD is 7. My DD works nights. While she isn't a baby and can walk with me, I'm not as much fun as her little friend who lives next door.

What I have been doing is pushing myself at work to get up more often, to not try to save time by incorporating several tasks into one (i.e. drop off a file, get any supplies I might need, head to the shredder, take a message to someone, etc.). It all adds up. I park a little farther away and take the steps each morning (2nd floor, not a lot - but again, it all adds up).

I'm thinking positive and accepting all new steps each day. Can't wait for my Fitbit Zip to arrive.

Becca, aged 51, knees in bad shape. I got the Fitbit because my old pedometer kept cancelling out on me, losing steps counted; I figured it was time to go 'high-tech', even tho' it took me 3 months to figure out out to sync with SP...

I don't get as many steps as I used to, not nearly as many as I'd like, but arthritis in the knees will do that to a person.

Hi! I'm Berta and I've had my Fitbit One for about a month and I'm just not moving as much as I should. I just need to put forth more effort and I'll see the results. Fitbit is a wonderful tool. I'm determined that this week I'm going to do much better. I think the most steps I done in a day has been less than 7,000 since I got the Fitbit. I have just now linked it with Sparkpeople and I think this will help me get motivated again.

I used to walk every day during my work lunchtime and on the weekends. It's more difficult now because they only allow 30 minutes for lunch. They also stop allowing any eating unless you're in the breakroom. So - I'm going to have to create a more appropriate time to do my walking. After work seems impossible since I have to get home and make dinner for the family and get housework and preparation for my next day of work done. It's looking like I need to get up and walk before going to work. That's not gonna be easy to do. I know I can do it. It's just a matter of DOING IT. I know I'll feel better when I get started. I just need to get started.

I appreciate any support and/or understanding - or kick in the pants...

Thanks,
Berta emoticon

Hi, I'm Jane, and I just got a Fitbit. I'm struggling with getting it to sync well with Sparkpeople. For example, I added my workout to Sparkpeople but it's not showing up in Fitbit. I posted the same working on Fitbit, but that did show up to Sparkpeople (creating a double entry).

Also, some food shows up, some doesn't.

Is anyone else having these problems?

Thanks.

Hi - I got my FitBit two weeks ago today and just have to say I'm thrilled with it! It has really motivated me to use the SP foodtracker faithfully everyday, and has really shown me how important getting that 500 calorie a day deficit is! I'm much less tempted to snitch or eat anything that will decrease my deficit for the day.

I'm happy to say that in those two weeks, I've already lost 3 pounds! Not bad for a mid-50's woman with what I thought was a slow metabolism! This is the coolest little tool for weight loss, ever! I love how it links to SP. The SP food tracker is MUCH better than FitBit's, and I occasionally have to adjust something that didn't come over to FitBit's food log just right, but it's not a problem once you learn to watch for that.

To you have just purchased one - just explore the help site on FitBit and read through their FAQ's. You'll learn more as you go - I seem to discover something new everyday!

Hi, I'm Carol, and my employer gave out a whole bunch of FitBits in a fitness promotion last Fall. I try to wear it everywhere; my biggest problem is remembering to take it off whatever I'm wearing and putting it in the same place every night. Guess what? I wouldn't advise it, but mine went thru the washer and dryer this week, and survived! emoticon

Hello from Florida! I bought a Fitbit Ultra last fall and just got my FB One as a replacement last Tuesday. With FB I don't have to guess how I've done, but have data to show. For me it's a great motivator. At Disney it really gets a work-out!

Hi. I got my FitBit on March 28th of this year. I really couldn't afford it, since I am a starving full time student, but really, I couldn't afford not to. I LOVE IT! I have the Ultra. It was mis-marked at the store, so I got a pretty good discount on it. Since then, I have had some over 10k days, and a lot of 7500 days, but it is also getting easier to hit that 10k number.

I changed my diet over the last two years, kicking out all the bad stuff, and occasionally walking, but Ultra helps me get out there and get it done! My two girls (4 legged) love the fact that we get in the car and go walking. (They had some weight issues too) I have it linked over here to my Spark page now which is great.

Have a good day.

Hello Everyone, Got my fitbit yesterday so I'm still figuring everything out. Hope to find some fitbit friends so we can motivate and encourage each other. I'm 52 yrs. old, live in PA and need to lose 10-15 more lbs. Lost 40 lbs on WW but gained back 12. I was able to go off of BP medicine and am determined to stay off of it.

Hi! My name is Lisa and I just started using my Flex yesterday. Pretty excited about it! I started on my journey 2 years ago, I lost about 50 pounds and hit a plateau. I had to slow down a little because of some knee problems and now the weight has been creeping back on a little. I really needed the motivation and I love that I can use the phone app to log my food too. :)

I got the new Flex for Mother's Day. I haven't used it consistently yet, am interested in finding best practices for its use, figuring out the best way to track my activity. I've been a little frustrated with the "getting started" process, so I'm hoping that some of you can help me figure out the best way to do things!

Hello Fellow FitBitters!
I just got mine yesterday, and I love it!
My name is Heidi, I'm from Northwest Indiana.
Although I have "desk job" I'm so surprised how much walking I do while I'm at work!

Hi everyone! I am so very excited to have my FitBit One. I can't believe how easy it is to use, and I absolutely LOVE the fact that it syncs with SparkPeople. I am finishing up my first day, and look forward to tomorrow!

No Guilt. No regrets. Trust your struggle.

Hi all! I'm a Fitbit Zip user. I love this little thing. I'm working very hard to be sure that I get 10,000+ steps per day. Best wishes to all!

Hello all. I am currently waiting for my flex to get here, using a fitbit one in the meantime. I've been using the nike band for about as long as its been out, and while its pretty cool its also uncomfortable. we'll see how this works out. I am going to miss all the pretty flashies and colors tho.

Hello everyone, you can actually get the fitbit1 to near exact if you program it,
go to your profile and enter your stride length for walking and also for running if you do those things and the mileage should come pretty close.

Hi, I am Janut, and received my fitbit one as a Christmas gift. I love it. It has certainly made me more aware of my activity or lack of activity. It is a great motivator for me to get up and move. I can get upwards of 12000 steps a day, but have gotten up past 20,000 some days. I like it so much that I gave one to my sister for her birthday to inspire her to get more active.
