Hello everybody, I am new to Sparkle People and have signed up to make new Fitbit friends. :-)

I have been using my Fitbit Charge HR for 10 days now and I am totally hooked to the graphs and info it shows.

I am from the Netherlands and as a single mother of two its hard to squeeze in regular work-outs. So I try to get enough exercise by biking to and from work (22 km total every day), I walk during my 30min lunchbreak and go for the occasional run whenever possible (which is like....hardly.. :-P)

Feel free to add me if you are willing to be my Fitbit pall and we can moivate each other by doing challenges together.

My e-mail is bitfit77@gmail.com

Hi, I'm a new fitbit user, too. Got the fitbit Charge HR. It's not recognizing all the food I've tracked on sparkpeople for some reason. Quite surprising to see how few calories I really need.

Hello, I have just received my fitbit one, it is presently charging, I sure do have questions about it as this is new to me, It is the pits that these little guys do not come with instructions
#1,, there is a little button on it,, is that to turn it on and off?
#2,, do you turn it off to charge it?
#3,, how long does it have to charge for?

I guess like anything else I will learn
Thanks Nancy

Hello Everyone!!!! I'm new to syncing my Fitbit to Sparkpeople. I had a Spark and loved it! Now they are not making it anymore. So I got Fitbit and love the screen with the info on it to see right away, not like the Spark. Now this Fitbit is not completely registering on the Spark Exercise. It is not registering my mileage or calories. Any help out there. I do have to say I just got a new computer and since then it is not registering everything. It isn't registering all my steps either Sparkpeople says 1450 and my Fitbit says 7500. Any help will be great!

Hey! I'm new to syncing my Fitbit with Sparkpeople, and new to the group. Hope everyone's had a great Monday!

My Fitbit goal is aimed a little low, at about 7500 steps, but I'll probably be adjusting that next week. So far, I've had no problem meeting this goal which is great. Hopefully it stays this way!

I am new to Fitbit and really like it. I am aiming for 10,000 steps on an average day. That takes me between 2-3 hours.

I am involved in the fitbit challenges; they don't take much time but I find them motivating. I created one imitating the tv gameshow, Survivor. Join me if you like!

tinyurl.com/j2nclj5

I am finding that the 10,000 step goal is highly motivating and works better for me than counting calories or better than spending an "x" amount of time at the gym. Let's hope my interest is maintained! I listen to books from audible when I take my steps.

Got my Fitbit flex over the weekend, and have been using it all week.
Been reaching 5000 steps which is really good for me. Have it synced with Spark People now and also with my husbands health insurance incentive program.

I love how it keeps track of my sleep, My awake times, restless times and totals my sleep hours. Kinda weird thou how it stops/starts at midnight so that my sleep for the day is from one day to the next.

Stay at home grand mom of two, 5 year old grandson and 3 year old granddaughter who are cousins. Christmas should be fun this year. I watch my granddaughter 1 or 2 days a week, and have started to volunteer at my grandson's school.

Hi, FitBit Sparkers! emoticon

After several days of researching fitness trackers to replace my Jawbone Up Move, I concluded that the FitBit ONE is the best fit for my wants and needs. emoticon {I know, it won over the Charge HR and Surge...I couldn't believe that one myself, either. *scratching my head* emoticon }

Hello Team, my name's Brad and I'm 3 weeks into SparkPeople and really liking it. After losing my first 5 pounds I treated myself to a Fitbit (Charge HR). I synced it with my SP tracker and was surprised at how close it was to my manual calculations. Looking forward to learning more from this team. Let's make this a healthy December. Cheers

Hi all! My name is Juli. I have just started back on SparkPeople after a very long break. I had a fitbit flex but upgraded yesterday to a Fitbit charge HR which I love. I am 50 years old and have 20 pounds to lose. I am married and my youngest daughter is a freshman in college so we are empty nesters. I am looking forward to being a part of this group!

Hello, all. My name is Brody. I've been on Spark People for almost two months now. For most of that I was using a second hand Spark People Activity Tracker, but my lovely wife bought my a Charge HR on Black Friday. The S.P.A.T. was very good, but I'm really happy to have a heart rate monitor and sleep tracker. I'm hoping this thing will be as accurate as it claims.

I have been on and off Spark people since 2010 I think. I have lost weight and gained it back! Because you know life happens. Since the beginning of last year I have tried to be pretty on with this. I am serving for 2 years in Jamaica with Peace Corps, so some days I just do not have internet access. I recently lost my Spark Activity Tracker, and when I went to buy a new one the cost was as much as the fitbit if not more. I chose the fitbit hoping it could hold data a little longer if needed. I am an avid bicycle commuter, but here it is rather difficult. I do bike but now as often or as far as normal. Hopefully this lil tracker motivates me again. So here's to a fine new year and successes!

Well, I've been on SP for about a week now, but I just dug out my Fitbit from where it was hiding. I can't sync to my computer (the USB dongle has wandered off) but since I'm *never* far from my phone, I use the Fitbit app on my iPhone to bluetooth sync my Fitbit with the site. :) I'm currently using the Flex but am hoping to upgrade to the Charge HR soon.

Hi all,

Just starting with Sparkpeople. I have a fitbit but I don't come close to hitting 10,000 a day. I have it but only a couple of times. I have tried just about every type and kind of diet possible including surgery. I hate exercise, any kind no matter what. I sound pretty negative and in a lot of ways I am, but I am really willing to give this a great try including moving of some sort. I have to finally loose this weight, my health is starting to suffer. I use to say I was a very healthy fat person but it is starting to catch up with me.

Speaking on line is also a challenge for me but as I said before I am willing to try everything that Sparkpeople is suggesting.

Good luck to all, talk to you all soon

Hello there.
Just doing a quick introduction as I am at work at the moment.
Today is day 2 for me using a Fitbit, it is something I have wanted for almost a year and my wonderful husband bought me one for my birthday.
I was doing pretty good for about a year on here had lost a pretty good amount and then my mother passed away in June I gained 45 lbs in 2 1/2 weeks due to stress and emotional eating after a couple days of not being able to eat anything.
My problem was never really as much about exercise as it was about portion control but I find when I can keep track of my steps I often am more aware of what I eat too.
I look forward to speaking with people more but need to get back to my job (call center representative).

Much love to all

Hugs and happiness

**Vicki**

Things will get better because I have decided they will get better. I will get healthier because I have decided to get healthier, and I will love because I have decided to love.

Please add me to your fitbit community if you would like.

Good day Sparkfriends.
I am re-booting my efforts AGAIN. Injuries and bad attitude have kept me from getting on a real roll with my activity of late. I don't "enjoy" the doing of it. Like the endorphins and mood shift after. And NEED TO GET MY STEPS UP to get my Calories IN:Out in better proportion.
So....
Can use all the help/ advice there is. I am sedentary. Seated at desk. On couch. In car. At pool. Read a lot. Not an outdoors girl.... I like to look at the outdoors ahahahahahahah
So.... Gym machines and classes mostly. My steps without activity run about 2500-5000. With activity ... I have to really push to get to 10,000.

I NEED WAYS TO FEEL SUCCESSFUL.
Do you think I should lower my goal for a while? Using the Spark goal technique of making it hugely Doable?

All comments welcome.
Thanks.

Hello!

I'm a "Newbie" with both SparkPeople and Fitbit and like and love them both. I just received Charge HB for my 60th birthday in September. Once I put it on I never stopped moving!

I was hesitant to sync it with SP as I am afraid of not being in control of my Nutrition Page! I just activated it today...so time will tell.

I do look forward to meeting some of you and possibly becoming Challenge Friends.

Hi all! Two years ago, I got a fitbit, and have been tracking food and exercise off and on. I've gained weight while using it. I don't always make the effort to meet my 10k daily step goal, but I do try to walk a little more around the office during the day.

So now I'm back on SP. I was here 10 years ago with only a little success. I'm going to keep tracking food with the fitbit rather than SP, but I think the community here is helpful.

Hello Everyone!

I'm Zana. I have been using activity trackers for about a year. I started out with a Jawbone but have since changed over to FitBit because everyone else has them and I like the challenge aspect! :)

I'm looking forward to finding new fitbit friends in the group! :)

Hi, I'm Cathleen. I've been wearing wrist pedometers for about three years now. First was a Jawbone Up, but I killed two within six weeks, so I switched to various Fitbits. Currently using a Fitbit Charge. I feel naked without it.

Hi everyone, I'm Darlene.
My company gave us a FitBit One earlier this year, which I lost a few months ago. My boyfriend was kind enough to get me the Charge HR for my birthday, and I finally got it from him this past weekend. I just love it!
I am a returning SP member. I was here originally about 5 years ago, successfully lost 30 pounds, but then gained it (and more!) back. I am ready to lose this weight again.
My motto this time around is 'baby steps'!
Hoping this model of the FitBit will motivate me to be more active than the One did. And, I hope I can't lose it as easily, either.

Hi Everyone,

I just got my first fitbit yesterday and was very excited to find I can link it to my Sparkpeople page. Now I have to keep this start-up motivation going and track my steps/exercise and food!

Hi all! I've had my FitBit Charge for about a month, but I'm starting this month with my weight loss/improved health journey. I tend to get a *decent* amount of steps in, but know I can do better.

I just got my fitbit. It replaces the spark tracker that I lost for the second time. Keeping track of my exercise keeps me on track with my food.

I have had a few different Fitbit models, and like the wrist band. I just have to remember to charge it every Monday!
