Everybody tells me that they would love to knit, but they don't have time. I look at people's lives and I can see opportunity and time for knitting all over the place. The time spent riding the bus each day? That's a pair of socks over a month. Waiting in line? Mittens. Watching TV? Buckets of wasted time that could be an exquisite lace shawl. ~Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, At Knit's End: Meditations for Women Who Knit Too Much A true friend reaches for your hand but touches your hea

Hi all,
I am retired NYPD, a Community theater actor, Tropical fish keeper(fresh and salt water) and a grandfather to a beautiful 2 1/2 year old granddaughter. I've been a spark member about two years. I joined after I had weight loss surgery in June of 2017. I've been a fitbit owner for about 8 years now. I have an inspire clip-on now. I find keeping track of my activity really helps in my weight battle. At one point in my life I weighed 385 lbs. I yo-yoed for years losing 80 lbs then gaining 50 lbs then losing 30 gaining 30.......you get the idea. I finally decided enough was enough and with my daughter expecting her 1st child I decided to change my life.I had the gastric procedure on June 7th 2017. Now having loss 160 lbs I feel great and life is better than ever, best decision I ever made.I made y personal weight before my the anniversary of my surgery and have maintained it for almost 3 years now However I still need to keep concentrating on maintaining my success. I use My Fitness Pal to track my meals and now wish to get active in other fitness communities. So here I am, I look forward to meeting you all.
Roger
