Welcome. Good luck on your wedding. It doesn't matter if your fiance doesn't gain weight. He can be supportive of eating healthier and supportive of your needs.

That said, planning is the key. I make many of my meals on my days off and take "leftovers" to work. The trick to tracking and eating with night/day shifts is to eat breakfast and supper (morning and evening meals) as normal. On night shifts, you eat "lunch" during the night and on your daylight days, eat lunch at your normal time. This helps you keep a fairly normal routine. Your calories may not always be perfect when you track, but your totals over the week should even out.

Welcome! Great job already.... I'm trying to get back into it. I lost about 25 lbs 10 years ago, but it all creeps back 2 or 3 lbs a year. This year I have no less than 5 big family events, and I would really like to enjoy the pictures for a change! In fact, I'm off to gym later on today! I rediscovered raquetball, and even when I'm just playing by myself, it is still a great workout and so much more fun than an exercise bike! Anything that keeps it fun, right?

Hi guys and gals! I joined SparkPeople because after years and years of being unhealthy, I have decided there is no better time than right now to get healthy. I am getting married this September, and have an amazing wedding dress to fit into, and 10 days on the beach after that. I can't think of a better reason to get into shape than that! My biggest problem I have found is my lack of motivation. I've been working out with a trainer to make sure I'm getting to the gym, but now what I lack is motivation when it comes to nutrition. My fiance is the type that can eat whatever he would like and not gain a pound, so it's hard for him to understand that hamburger helper and eating out all the time are not the way to lose weight! I love making new recipes so I have been rounding up some good ideas, but I'll take any tips I can get!

About me personally, I'm a nurse in a busy emergency room, and I work the overnight shift, which poses alot of struggles in itself. It's hard to get into a routine of working out and eating meals when one day you are awake during daytime hours and the next day you are awake during nighttime. Does anyone have experience with this?

I'm open to all the friends and support I can get!
