Angela - I'm thinking perhaps you did the inside trail? There are a couple trails that you access closer to the lake...the one we hiked was closer to the Western Center and the porta potties were few and far between! So few and far between that I had to get more in touch with nature than I really wanted to! LOL

kgrimes526,

I did go on a trail on Memorial day! I think my husband and I walked three miles each way. I couldn't see any markers. The only thing I saw were the numbered port-o-potties. Where are the markers?

My husband and I were disappointed we were not able to go on the wildflower trail. I guess its only open in March and April when the flowers bloom. Which of course makes sense.

We plan to go ahead one day soon. Thanks again for mentioning this as a place to go walking.

Angela

Hi Angela! I just did the North Trail at Diamond Valley Lake on Memorial Day...I completed the 6.5 mile trail and let me tell ya - it was an awesome hike! But be warned...quite a few steep hills but some definite payoffs when you can view the entire valley in one direction and the lake in the other!

Also, not sure if this is the case all the time, but I don't really want to risk it again - the Northwest Trailhead was closed, so if you go the entire way the only way back is to do it in the other direction AGAIN! It would have taken all day!! LOL Next time we do it we are going to hike to the 3 mile marker and then turn around and go back.

Hi Everyone in Hemet,

I'm close by in San Jacinto. It is great to see so many people close by involved in this group. I read some other posts about walking at Diamond Valley Lake Trails. I want to do that! I might try this next weekend with my husband. Thanks for the tip and I hope to talk to all of you more later.

Angela

Hi! I am Heather and I am new to this team. I have lived in Hemet for 29 years. I have a husband and 3 darling children and I have to keep this short because it is almost time to go to Youth Baseball. Glad to be a part of this team :).
