I say it took about three to four months to lose 25 pounds but I keep going back and forth with my weight too. My body got used to the amount of exercise I was doing and now my diet isn't that great. I'm trying despite the holiday parties and family gatherings that will bring up tons of temptions. I refuse to give up!

Try using the food and exercise tracker. Also run some of the reports to get an estimate only of how much you are burning in a day. Make sure to count everything! I still drink diet pepsi and I tend to eat things high in sodium which make me bloat. Typically in a day my weight flucutates three to five pounds.

Just focus on getting healthier and make mini-goals such as looser pants, tighter arms, more energy, five pounds. It makes it easier for me.

I look forward to seeing you on the boards. Or maybe through a blog on your sparkpage?

How long did it take to lose the 25lbs? I am soooooo discouraged right now. 2 months ago I weighed 165lbs...I NEVER worked out and I ate horrible ALL the time. So on Sept 19 I joined the gym and vowed to make some changes...so I got a personal trainer, I work out 4-5 times a week, I eat much better than I did before and I've GAINED 8lbs!!! NOW I'm at 173! All I think about is food (what to eat, what NOT to eat)my health (prediabetes, high cholesterol)my workout, blah, blah, blah. I'm consumed with this issue and I just keep getting heavier and heavier! And NO, I haven't lost inches either...my pants are tighter than ever. I feel like I was better off when I just sat around watching tv and stuffing my face with fast food. I am sooo bummed.

Hi Eileen,

I'm from San Jacinto and 40! I have lost about 25 pounds and I need about 40 or maybe more pounds myself. I mostly work out at home. I sometimes go to the gym near me. For some reason the name escapes now.

Well welcome to the site. You will love Sparkspeople. It has something for everyone.

Hey all you fabulous people in the Inland Empire! My name's Eileen, I'm 42 (almost) and looking to lose about 40 lbs and be the healthiest I've ever been. I go to LA Fitness in Hemet but I'm struggling to get the weight off (I guess that giant piece of carrot cake I had today didn't help any!) We can do this!
