Hi everyone! My name is Debbie and I have a healthy person inside me that's screaming to get out. I have always been "chubby", but now I am just FAT. I've used food as my crutch through a not-so-great marriage, a nasty divorce, and recently I broke off my engagement because my boyfriend told me I was too fat. So, here I am, 46 years old and trying to get my life back in order. No more excuses about my arthritis or fibromyalgia making it too hard to exercise. I know in my mind that the more I do the better I'll feel, so I'm hoping that with a little encouragement from all my new sparkfriends I will be able to pull myself out of this funk and let my old happier, thinner self come out to play again.

Hi. I'm Sandy. 50+ and not a lover of exercise, but I MUST, I MUST!!! :) Hoping this will get me going and keep me going. I usually start at the beginning of the week, and by the end of the week I've slacked off. Sigh. Hope this challenge will modify my brain!! hehe. I walk a lot though...but not cardio.

Hi I'm MariJo, and I've really been struggling with getting active. To be honest I am not a big fan of exercise. So I figured I should start small and this looked like it could be motivating for me. So I look forward to this 10 minute daily program and know that I can be successful.

Sometimes you have to forget how you feel and remember what you deserve.

Hi - I am brand new to SparkPeople and I know that exercise is going to be my biggest challenge, at age 46 with 50 pounds to lose. Historically I have NOT been much of an exerciser, so I think this challenge is an important one for me to get into right away!

I've been with spark people since August.
Been doing pretty good,but now I've slowed down with my strength and cardio exercising.

I'm Kat and I have painful hip joints, so I'm trying to add time gradually to my daily walks. I started two weeks ago doing ten minute walks. Last week it was twelve, and today I started going fourteen minutes. If I can't do the whole time, I'll at least do ten. :)

I'm Robyn and I never had difficulty with weight or activity until I quit smoking and starting working a job without regular hours. I need to find the time to take care of myself. I am 36-years old and I'm ready to commit to 10 minutes a day, so thanks for all of the support.

Hi, all. I'm Sandy and I live in Dallas, TX. I have been getting further behind and I've lost all my gains. Life has gotten in my way and I really need to get started again. I found a website that will check up on my progress and it gives me some incentive, as well. If I don't get my 10 minutes per day, I'll have to pay $10 to an organization I don't like. Hi everyone!
I'm starting over yet again. I sparked and stopped and sparked and stopped.... Turned 40 and am the biggest i've ever been. And the most depressed too. Having said that, I know that I have to do something. I joined this because i'm not overwhelmed with trying to figure out how to get 30 minutes a day in.

Hello, My name is Jamie...duh...and I am just testing out this forum...the last one I joined was a C25K (couch to 5K in 8 weeks) It was awesome...we all did so much work at keeping it going and getting to know each other...ALAS, it was over ...I did the 10K in Richmond and we all went in different directions...But, that is why I am excited to try again...
Since April, I have just stagnated due to the heat and horrible weather as well as took advantage of summer...Now I am ramping up for the 10 minute trainer video's ....I have my blendtec ready in waiting and my receipe box opened...School is IN and I have a somewhat regular schedule..I am ready to ROLL!


Never do today, what you can put off til tomorrow...in order to fit your excercise in Today!

Hey everyone,
My name is Tina, I am 48 and menopausal...ahhhrrrgggg emoticon .I am having a hard time with the weight loss this time. Between the stubborn metabolism and the hot flashes exercising can be challenging. But that being said I will not quit trying. I went out for chinese food with my friend last week (I know not the best choice, but I tried to order healthier than normal) when I opened my fortune cookie I got the following fortune: "Do or Not Do, There is no Try!!" Well I thought how appropriate that was for me. I am always "TRYING" when I should just be "DOING". So that is going to be my new mantra.

Hi everyone, my name is Deb, (a/k/a TangyT), I have been with SPARK since 2008 and recently started fresh, with new teams and a new challenge in my life - Menopause. I have all of a sudden started gaining weight for no apparent reason - which sent me into such a tailspin when I finally hit bottom last month. I have slowly been getting back on track, joining a small team and looking to find an exercise plan that will work with no pressure.

My name is Charity. I used to be one of those girls that could eat anything she wanted and still be 110lbs. Then I had two beautiful children. My second child was born with 20% function of his kidneys and spent most of the first 6 months of his life in the hospital, thats when I started gaining the weight. In January of this year I donated one of my kidneys to him, and started to try to lose all that weight that I had put on. Nothing seemed to work, now I am on a low carb diet and trying to squeeze in exercise everyday in between School for my first child and Dr appointments for my second one. So far have been doing ok, but know that I can do better, that is why I joined this challenge today.

Just joined the challenge today. Trying to make exercise a regular part of life. Time is always a problem - 2 hrs of commuting a day, over 8 hrs at the office - doesn't leave much time. Getting up early really doesnt work for me (not a morning person). I already struggle to get 5 hrs sleep a night. Lunch times are working for me so far (during the week). Its the weekends that I am working on now.

Just joined the site today and still trying to get it all figured out. Anyway I am a super busy wife mom and work fulltime. Exercise is hard to get in with living in a rural community where you have to drive 20 minutes to any town. So I figure I can surely squeeze 10 minutes in somewhere during the day.

Hi, I am Molly. Exercise has NEVER been a constant in my life. I never understood how people are driven to exercise. So this 10 minute challenge is HUGE to me. But I know I can do 10 miinutes a day. I need to do 10 minutes a day for ME! Good luck people.

Hello Fellow Sparkers.... My name is Keish!!

When I purchased the Spark book I decided to commit to begin my own streak & commit to doing 10 min of fitness everyday. Well I am currently on day 93 of my 10 min fitness streak! It has to be one of the greatest things that I have incorporated into my everyday life. I mean everyone has at least 10 minutes to spare in their everyday life to engage in some form of fitness for only 10 min! Chris couldn't have sparked a better idea! Thx Chris, Thx SP!!!!!

I joined this challenge to get myself moving. If I lose weight that would be nice but I'm not really focused on that. I want to be able to walk up the steps and into my office building without being winded by the time I get to my desk. To achieve that, my 10 minutes a day will most likely be spent either climbing stairs or doing Walk Away the Pounds. Good luck to everyone who has taken on this challenge!
