Hi my name is Kristie. I started years ago and lost my weight then found myself slipping away from the site. I am excited to start again thinking 10 minutes is a easy way to start and to stay motivated.

I am looking forward to having a good go at 10 minutes a day of exercise. I already do regular exercise - walks and sessions at the gym, but want to practice little bursts of possibly new things, mainly to check the tendancy to think that if I can't do a 'proper' walk or whatever, then it isn't worth it. 10 minutes is (in theory!) so doable! Cheers and encouragement to all!

Well I joined this team today and I'm going to do my best. I like the idea if only 10 minutes a day because I have two jobs that usually spread me out all through the day but 10 minutes of sit-ups, jumping jacks, and push ups sounds like an easy workout to throw inbetween all of it.

Hello ... I joined Spark a long time ago, but never did more than check out a few articles or menues. Now it's time to get to work!
I am a gardener, and have spent hours in the yard, working hard, hauling wheelbarrows full of 'stuff' too and fro. But it's WiNTER and even here in CA it's cold and there isn't too much to do outside, so I've been resembling a couch potato! So here I go.... tracking food and doing at least 10 minutes of exercise every day! emoticon

Hello everyone. My name is Jay and I logged in to Sparkpeople a few times over 2 years ago so I consider this my first time. I am more open to new things now and I am at the point where I am sick and tired of being sick and tired of being fat. I feel like I need a drill sergeant staying on top of me but that is not my reality. I have to be my own drill sergeant/cheerleader/coach/fan. I can not remember a time when I have ever been all this things for myself and not for everyone else. It is now my time. I would appreciate any help, advice, motivation (even if it is a quick kick in the butt) to keep me going.

I just started SparkPeople 1-4-13 but I started my healthy lifestyle in August as part of a health challenge at work. Since then I have lost 30 lbs. By exercising, and eating healthy. I can tell a change in my body and I love it! I have quite a ways to go - but I am getting there. Good luck to everyone!

Hi everyone, I'm disabled and this is the perfect incentive for me to get up and move. (Not to mention this whole website is such an incentive...just wow.) I had a stroke in 2007 and slowly and steadily my walking has gotten worse and my weight is soaring and for the last few months I can't get my feet un-swollen. So this group is really just what I need to have encouragement to get up and exercise, and talk a quick 10 minute walk. So thank you and I hope to make it all the way with it.

Hello, I'm anxious to get fit and healthy at SparkPeople. Hope you do too! I actually love to exercise, but have gotten so heavy that "stuff" hurts when I do, so I wanna get back to being fit so I can hike again and do the things I love.

Good luck to all of us.............

Hi Spark team!
I'm Lisa, and fairly new to SparkPeople, but finding it very helpful at keeping me accountable for my nutrition and fitness. I was a yo-yo dieter and a yo-yo exerciser! My ultimate goal is to be able to maintain this healthy and active lifestyle !

This is a great challenge! Just 10 minutes a day! We Can Do This!

Hi. Been on Spark before about 1 year and a half ago. I started focusing on other things, and now I realize that I need to get back into eating right, and exercising daily, even if it is only 10 min. So here I go!

I haven't been on SparkPeople in a long time, but I'm looking forward to starting anew on the path to being healthier. It's cool to see the team spirit, which is what I love about this site! I aspire to get back to the weight I was in this photo of me from about 10 years ago.

Hello. My name is Sarah and I've been on and off with spark people for a while now. I'm actuve duty military and just returned to the US this summer after five years in Japan. As most military members who return to the US I've put on a lot of pounds since I got back. And not being on a ship going up and down 5-6 ladder wells several times a day as well as not having easy access to gyms like I did on the ship has really affected my exercise habits. So it's time to get my butt in gear!!

Hello My Name is Alicia. I have been away from Spark for over a year. Sparkpeople hel[ped me so much the first time I went on my weightloss journey. I have started over today!!! I lost over 100lbs but have gained 50 back. The 50 I have gained back fell so awful on my body. I have aches and pains, etc...Ive got to get it back off and get down to my ideal weight.

I have been overweight all my life, even as kid. We have pictures of cubby little me at five years old. I have always drank soda and never exercise. This is how I was raised. But my mom now has diabetes and she needs meds. My dad had two strokes so I decided to do something about it. I lost all that weight, then broke up with my boyfriend of ten years. I gained back 50 of my pounds. I am back with the love of my life and now I need to get my life back in order. I no longer want to be this overweight! I want to be healthy!

I am starting with baby steps....I can do ten mins a day! Easy, right! I waill start my Wii boxing again and my walking. I look forward to this....

~Alicia

I have rejoined Spark People and am very glad to be back. In the spirit of changing things up this time, I have started my Fitness Streak today.
Looking forward to checking in regularly.

emoticon Hello! My name is Deb and I'm tired of being a couch potato. Like many of you, I've lost many special people these past couple of years. It's easy to lose myself in the TV programs, and not think about how much I miss them. I don't have a problem with overeating, usually I forget to eat. And I have gained weight anyway. I have put my treadmill to use this past week...it's too cold (and icy sidewalks) to go outside to walk. Recording my progress here will help to keep me moving. Glad to be here! emoticon

Hi everyone!

I joined SparkPeople right at the end of December, finally deciding that it's time to get to work.

A little over two years ago, I injured my right leg very badly. After three months in hospital and nearly two years of daily nurse visits, my leg is almost completely healed, but extremely weak. As if if that wasn't enough, for most of the time I've been physically unable to sit, and so there's been a lot of bed in my life. So in addition to my leg being all but useless, my core strength is approaching zero. Time for a change!

I spent some time looking through the work-out videos, and thank goodness, I found the 11-minute seated cardio. It's perfect for my current fitness level, and it's working so well for me that I decided this streak challenge would be the perfect way to extend myself and stay consistent.

I'm really looking forward to getting strong again.

Hi I joined Spark people in Dec 2012 but just really got into the feeling of it all. I have been overweight since I was 5 yrs old and now that my daughter is almost 2 I don't want to have the same bad habits passed on to her. As of today I am down 2 pounds since last week and have exercised for 10 minutes or longer since Jan 2nd. Feeling great and visualizing what I will look and how I will feel like when I hit my goal weight.

Hi! I joined Sparkpeople in 2010 but I've only recently begun to use the site. I'm here because I need the extra motivation to get started with an exercise routine: I have trouble getting myself to exercise more than once or twice a week, and I'm worried that without a consistent schedule I'll eventually just stop entirely. Here's to being consistently awesome! emoticon

Hi, I am here to motivate myself to get off of the couch and move, since I know running behind kids all day cleaning up their little messes doesn't really count for exercise, even though it's my job, and I know this is the challenge I need!

Hey there, it's Matt here.

Been on SP since mid-November. I'm down about 12 kilograms and doing well with the tracking. I have plantar fasciitis and it has been better since dropping a little weight.

I'm doing some walking on the treadmill - so far so good with my foot.

I got a kettlebell yesterday. Doing kettlebell dead lifts. Quite the workout. The videos make it look easy - it isn't! Form is important. Working on proper posture and form.

Make it a great day!
Matt

Hello everyone! My name is Ruth. I have been with SP since 2010. Last year was a hard one. I lost 2 friends way before their time and a family member that was on his way. It was tough. I fell back into old habits and fell off the site. I was occasionally checking in, but was not faithful. I am here now. I have forgiven myself for falling and am ready to start again. I started at 360 and dropped 120lbs, however I have gained back to 280. I am NOT going back. I am here. This is the year that I say hello to the new me! Watch out world! emoticon

Hello, I'm Kathy. I joined SP in 2008 but didn't use it until much later. I have lost around 40 pounds with SP since then and a total of 75 from my highest. Being over 400 pounds kept me from doing much exercise but I did get a peddler and have used that on a regular basis. I also have hand weights and resistance bands. This morning I weigh 365 and know that the exercise is a main reason for my success. I have not done an exercise streak before so I figure now is the time.

Hello all! I am Kari. I have been on SP for several years but have not been on it for quite some time. When I lost my job 4 years ago I had planned on focusing on my health/weight, but now I am at my heaviest weight ever. With the start of this new year I am not only determined to get myself healthy but my family as well! I have 2 kids and a wonderful husband and I want us all to live a healthier and happier life!

On 1-13-2012 I joined SP. I started out really going good, but toward the end of last year I slowed down. I did burn myself out and let stress of holidays get in the way.
I am ready to start again and 10-min. exercise daily may be the way to start. I am waiting for Coach Nicole's new DVD to arrive. I am going to try different exercises daily, so not to get burned out. Looking forward to a new and fabulous year. emoticon

Hello All!

I have been a member of SP for a really long time. When I stuck to the program I have done well but I have not been a dedicated member in several years. I tried to start this challenge before and failed.

I am a mom of a 16 month old and I really need to get it together. Beyond not being willing to buy all new clothes - I also need to set a good example for my daughter in terms of being healthy. I am on day 2 and am feeling positive. This time I am not setting goals so big that I get overwhelmed and quit. I am going to focus on managable progress and small victories.

Hi i'm Gina. I totally let go control of my eating habits over the holidays. Am getting a divorce and moving soon so cut myself slack but that freedom is gone. GOT to get back in control of my eating. I've always been an active person but have become way to sendentary over the last 2 years and have gained 20 lbs that I am determined to shed. i have a 13 yr old son and am hoping to spend a lot more time being active and outdoors with himthat I have been the passed 2 yrs. I look forward with excitement and fear at the challenge.

Hi, I'm Brenda and I joined SparkPeople back in 2009. I've had success and setbacks and now have a renewed determination to get it done right this time.

The most important thing to me this time around is needing to make the commitment to get it done without excuses.

I'm tired of living on the sidelines...I'm ready to get into the race!!!!!

i joined SparkPeople in 2010 and did pretty well for a while, exercising 90 minutes a week (mostly walking), and tracking my water intake. By the time 2011 rolled around, I wasn't logging in any more.

Trying again now in 2013. I think the most important thing for me is to BE ACTIVE, so I joined the 10 minutes a day streak challenge. I must make exercise a habit. I'm also planning to use more of the nutrition features this time around and develop a more healthy lifestyle (that should also result in some weight loss).
