This is one more verbal hug :) :) Because when you walk back into his office you will be weighing less and proving MD's are just human... and can be wrong.

You've already had a great journey we look forward to having you further that journey by showing your doctor that you CAN do it. Doctor's know what they know but doesn't necessarily mean that they know everything about you. Stick with your good habits and I'm sure you'll see progress. Just keep in mind that now that your weight is much lower, it will take longer for the weight to come off. The goal is to keep those healthy habits to keep the weight off.

Well, the way the dr explained it was that when you have been severly overweight for most of your adult life the body creates connective tissues to support the fat (lovely thought). He said that it was difficult to loose this tissue. Took him at his word as he is also a liver transplant surgeon at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. I guess I must have some more fat that can be lost since I have lost a bit more weight. LOL

You are inspiring. Your doctor, not so much. Keep trying and don't let anyone tell you that you can't.

Welcome to the team.

Maybe your doctor was assuming you would not make any more lifestyle changes that would help you to lose even more. Welcome to the team! Slow but steady wins the race.

Welcome to the team. I don't know anyone personally who has had the surgery, but I did know a patient in a nursing home who managed to reverse his surgery by refusing to change his eating habits.

Most people think of this as a quick fix, but you know that it involves a lifestyle change just like anything else. Good luck to you.

Well, just sent a long introductory message and somehow lost it when I was trying to post it. I can't remember all that I wrote so will just try to make this one short and to the point. I had gastric bypass surgery 7 yrs ago. Lost 160 lbs. I've kept the weight off, but old eating habits have crept back in. Would like to loose a little more weight, even though my gastric surgeon says I probably won't loose any more. He said that when I weighed 212 (weight on day of surgery was 357). But I weight 194 now and think I could loose a little more. So thought this team might be a good fit for me since I will be loosing a little slower. Any other gastric bypass people here?
