Welcome and I agree with the others this is not a quick fix, but a new lifestyle.

I agree, I guess my question to you sexylady is have you ever weighted that much? Because according to the books and drs I am suppose to weigh 120 to 130 and I can tell you with my body frame I would look like I was anorexic, I can also tell you that I too will never ever in your life or mine weigh that much. I am okay with it and I refuse to allow some doctor or some book to tell me what I am suppose to weigh.

As for the fad diets I really don't think they work because they always tell you what you cannot eat. And most adults do not like to be told what they cannot do or have to do. Why because we already know what needs to be done, we just have to put our mind to it. Me I do portion control all the weigh I measure everything that goes in my mouth, that is how I had to change my life style because I would just sit and eat and eat and eat. I always eat the "right" food I just always ate to much of the "right" food.

I do want to welcome you back to the team and good luck on your journey.

i agree with dark storm he says it all in a very short way. if we want to get a quick fix then we need a short term diet. for me i have to have a new life style change or else it won't work for me. i have to lose around 60 lbs that is not by a dr. or anybodys sepct. but my own.

well my male responce is F*** the gym and F*** the Dr as well for that fact. you need to find the body thats right for you. for a guy my age and height I should be a 180 pounds thats NEVER going to happen. When I get to about 250 I am going to be healthy and I will be looking good as well (my ego does love to shine) I would not look good at all by being what the Dr says or well I don't even listen to any gym staff what so ever.

I don't really like telling anyone how to roll but I cannot see how those diets are going to do you any good girl. Make a life style change, go see the dietitian and get him/her to give you a healthy meal plan and work on following that.

I fear you will get nothing but heartache and more suffering if you keep bouncing from fad diet to fad diet, but I won't tell you that you cannot do it, if thats what you have to do then who am I to stop you.

I feel they are a temporary fix to a permanent situation. Weight loss is hard work, you have to put blood, sweat and tears into it, and when thats done you need more blood, sweat and tears.

I know I won't ever get anywhere taking the short cut and I cannot see how other people will as well, but its not my life so I just do my thing ;)

Hey Sexylady welcome back. you need to stop the fad diets and eat sensibly. Do you feel over weight. if you are exercising and eating right do not worry you will be alright. Have faith in your self and you will be ok.

Hello, I joined the site sometime ago but with kids and everything else life piles on, I have not been consisted. Since there are simple not enough hours in a day, I find it hard to joggle. I have tried "quick fix" diets such as "the three day diet" "the grapefruit diet" "the special K diet" but nothing has worked (partly because I always seem to cheat). I am 28, about 5'6" and weigh 172.8 lbs (as of this morning). Based on my doctor and gym staff, I am overweight. I should be between 140-150lbs. therefore I need to lose about 25+lbs. I'm currently trying to do the Atkin Diet but it may be too restrictive for me. Just want to get back in connection with some weight lose support. It's hard with kids and a fiancee who don't seem to think I need to loose weight and that I'm too "diet crazed" I need support...HELP!!!
