emoticon Hi Bikerchick14! I'm interested as well and just placed the book on hold at the library. Thanks!

Gill, sorry I've been missing in action but I've been doing my morning routine consistently. :)

That sounds really interesting! I look forward to hearing how it goes.

Nice to have some company - I'm feeling a bit lonesome here at times. But I've established a lot of ayurvedic self-care practices into my life through this team, and they're all really helpful.

Hi all. I just finished reading "The Hot Belly Diet" by Dr. Suhas G Kshirsagar & I'm starting the protocol tomorrow. It's 30 days to rekindle the digestive fire. I'm nervous but excited. So I need to calm the heck down, lol! Anyway. I became interested in ayurveda when my mother-in-law (from India) rubbed sweet almond oil into my baby's scalp to soothe teething pains & it worked so much better than baby acetaminophen. So. There was a language barrier, so when she told me the baby has too much heat so that's why she's drenching her in oil, my Western mind thought, well- if there's too much heat, won't the oil hold it in. How about I get an ice cube?? LOL!!! Luckily, I was able to find a few books in English. I used them quite a bit at first. But life got in the way. And, as I look at the "food combining charts" I realize that so many meals I was raised on break multiple rules - yes, yes I would like cheese on my eggs scrambled with milk served with pancakes topped with fruit and whipped cream. Oh, and grab a glass of OJ to go with that. So... it's a major change to make. But for the next 30 days, I'm going to stick to the program. So, I'm glad to have found this group on sparkpeople. I'll be dropping by for at least the next 30 days. :)
