Try to remember: Eventually you won't be ABLE to take care of your loved ones if you don't first take care of yourself. I know full well this is easier said than done, but it's the truth all the same. To start, you may want to focus on drinking more water, getting just a little more of both sleep and activity, and adding healthy food choices. (Have fruit or baby carrots instead of pretzels or whatever.) Soon it starts to add up! Good luck, and we're here if you need a sounding board or even advice.

There is always someone to take care of but you need to be #1 or when you go down, everyone goes down.

Start small, only keep healthy food in the house and get rid of the junk. Watch your portions

Every day I am on the verge of making slight changes that would make all the difference in my life.

One day I won't be able to do this, but today is not that day

It's time for you. We always seem to take care of others and let ourselves take the back seat. Time for you to put yourself in the driver's seat. Start small. Change one thing this week such as drink 8 glasses of water and add something every week. I started with the nutrition tracker and boy did I see where I needed to change things. You can do because you are worth it!

Tuttlesma,I have the same problem. I have gained some weight. I have neglected myself, taking care of others in my family. I have this problem, I dont allow myself the luxury of taking care of myself. Its nice to know, I am not the only one that does this

emoticon to the team! It's time to take care of yourself and only you can take those first steps to do so. Baby steps - figure out what you CAN do for yourself to make life a little easier. Sometimes when we feel life is out of control, we have to look at what we CAN control - which is what we eat, how we spend our valuable free time, etc.

I like living. I have sometimes been wildly, despairingly, acutely miserable, racked with sorrow, but through it all I still know quite certainly that just to be alive is a grand thing. Agatha Christie
