That book is a great read! It took a lot of guilt and shame off of me. It gave me an understanding of why my body is the way it is and what to do to change it.

Welcome, Kathy!

I've never done low carb before, but I read the book "Why We Get Fat and What To Do About It" by Gary Taubes in Jan. It was recommended by another Sparker. It's not a diet book, but a nutrition book. Boy, that book clicked with me. I started Atkins in Feb. I've done very well with this new way of eating. I love it. I don't miss bread, rice, potatoes, etc. Since you've done low carb before, you know it works. I can't think of any tips right now, but if you have any questions, please ask.

Hi TXGAL, I'm new here, too. I just started eating low carbs yesterday. I'm not following Atkins, but kind of doing my own thing and simply counting carbs. Good luck to you!

Welcome Kathy! You came to the right place! These guys are a wealth of information and support. I am like you, I have been with Sparkpeople for a LONG time and lost some but not enough. I started low carb a little over a month ago. The loss has been slow but it's losing!
