Yeah. SP finally works on my tablet. For a month, i was so bummed. I am on fire now. If i embarrass myself with the wrong etiquette, emoticon, or pic, just laugh. I am so thrilled to see motivation. Be the best today. Gotta move now. Pacobff is my toy poodle. Hoping to meet some new people in the future. My husband is excited to share some of his gluten free low sugar recipes. Hello my name is Veronica. I'm a returning member to Spark. I've always struggled with my weight, but in the last few years its seems like the struggle has just gotten harder. I figured my wedding (I just got married in July) would have motivated me to lose weight, but it didn't! Now with the stress of the wedding gone I am ready to get healthy!

Hi Everyone!!

I'm Beth. I've been struggling with my weight since I was a teen and I'll turn 30 next year. I've done Spark before but not in a few years. I'm excited to be back and ready to make positive changes in my life. I'm working on getting my nutrition under control, drinking water and spending time at the gym. I've gotten a bit of a slow start due to being busy at work, but I'm trying to slowly make better choices. Like not eating fast food (over a week now). I'm always looking for Sparkfriends to help hold each other accountable so please feel free to add me.

Beth

Hi, I'm a returning Sparker. I lost weight on this site a year ago, but regained it so I'm back. This program does really work if you stick with it, but the sticking part was my downfall. Hopefully, this time will go better. I would like to lose about 45 lbs, but I have some challenges to face, including a bunch of injuries that limit exercising. Dropping some weight will certainly help with those. Good luck to everyone on the team -- I'm looking forward to hearing about all your successes!

Hello everyone,
Guess I missed the introductions to this group so HELLO everyone!! I'm on day 7 of the road to a better me! I am like a kid in a candy shop on spark especially in the recipe section!! Going grocery shopping tonight for some more good for me goodies. So far so good, walking everyday and occassionally hopping on the wii fit when I get home. I got my boyfriend hooked into the site as well so we are doing this journey together! Love all the support in the groups and look forward to getting to know some of you and lend my support as well.

My name is Erin, I am from northern MN. I am 25 years old. I have been heavy my entire life, but finally decided enough is enough. I have tried multiple diets, but quit because I didn't see immediate results. It doesn't help my husband is also overweight and says he loves me the way I am. Gives me a reason to stay the way I am. BUT NO MORE EXCUSES!! :)

Hi! My name is Debbie and I am recommitting as of December 3, 2011. I am married with 3 children - 2 out of the house and the youngest looking to go to college in the spring. I work seasonally and also travel with my husband on his job. We are looking into getting into some missions work overseas so it is time I get serious about shedding this extra baggage I keep carrying around!
I started the Ideal Protein Diet Plan Saturday and on day 3 now I am feeling very good about it. I don't like to cook and with the traveling (5-6 months of the year) this is a convenient and easy plan for me (altho a bit costly).
I have used this site before for support and for logging nutrition and exercise. Its a great tool if you use it which I am planning on doing often.
Thanks!

Hey everyone!
My name is Liz. I'm 24, married & living in the south suburbs of Chicago. I recently reconnected with an old friend who found great success with sparkpeople.com (she lost 130 pounds in 9 months). I'm hoping with the help of her and supportive people like you to do something similar. I have mini goals of running a 5K, 10K and then a half marathon. Ultimately I'd like to go from 271 (where I was last Thursday) to 170 by November 1, 2012.

I'm no stranger to the battle of the bulge. I've been a big girl my entire life. I first started "officially dieting" in the 7th grade when my mom put me on a modified Atkins diet. Needless to say, it didn't exactly help my self-esteem.

I moved onto high school where I joined marching band & soccer. I lost weight then, but I wasn't really tracking it at all.

When I got to my sophomore year of college, my boyfriend (now husband) went off to boot camp. I told him before he left that I would be 40 pounds lighter when he got back. Sure enough, I was!

In the end though, I gained the weight back plus much, much more.

When I stepped on that scale last week, my heart sank. How could I let myself go so badly? I've made various excuses for myself: I've always been big, I'm big boned, it's happy fat...etc. And so have other people. As sweet as it is, having your husband tell you he loves you "just the way you are" at almost 300 pounds doesn't exactly motivate you to change your lifestyle!

SOOOOOOO... It's time for a HUGE (no pun intended) change in my life. This isn't a diet, or something temporary. I NEED to lose a significant amount of weight. My life depends on it.

I will need all the support you can give, and I would love any and all advice you'd like to share!!

Thanks for being so welcoming! :)

Greetings, my name is Brenda. I have used SparkPeople in the past and was very successful in losing weight. I did a lot of Leslie Sansone's walking workouts and changed my eating habits. The last year and a half have been very stressful with the loss of 2 pregnancies and a resulting plunge into depression. The meds for the depression have worked together with my absent motivation and resulted in regaining all that I lost previously. I am here to lose 35 pounds, lower my blood pressure, and feel healthier. I know that this is a great place for support.

There will be days I don't know if I can do a marathon. There will be a lifetime of knowing that I have.

Hi Beatinged, I love your name - brings to mind all kinds of images. But you are not beaten (if that is part of it), for sure. Sounds as though you have had more than your fair share of stuff to handle, and it is a total credit to you that you are here.

Sending you my very best vibes, and wishes for health and happiness. Happy you are here!

Hi all!!! I just signed up last night so this is really my first day. Looking for the motivation to get back on track at the gym. Enjoy yoga but seems like the class schedules are tough to fit with my schedule. Got the DVR tapes now. My goal is to get back in bikini shape before a trip in March! Wishing success to everyone :) emoticon

Hi,
My name is Wendy and I am from Vancouver, B.C. Canada. I have tried all the diets out there just about and have been struggling with my weight since Grade 9 when the school nurse put me on my first diet. This time I am looking for a change in lifestyle not a diet because I am convinced that is what really will work. I joined Sparkpeople last week and I am so excited because I now feel looking around this site that I am not alone in this battle, I have an army of Sparkpeople that can empathize, motivate and inspire! I have a few health challenges pre-diabetes, high blood pressure and severe asthma so really losing weight for me is really about staying alive and healthy. However if I end up looking fabulous too - so be it! I am 59 years old and recently retired after 32 years of working. Retirement poses challenges re eating and exercising because you have to establish your routines in your day and be disciplined. It is quite easy just to sit back and do nothing since there is so much time on your hands. Now, when my husband goes to work I get him to drop me off at the gym - a routine established. Bye for now, Wendy

Hi, I joined the site last week, and I have not had much of a chance to look around. I hope to have more time to explore in the next week or two. Seems like a great site so far. I have two friends who raved about it, so I figured I'd give it a try. It's good to be here!

Hi,
I started on this site almost a week ago. I'm still trying to find my way around. It does get a little overwhelming. I will be retiring at the end of the month and I want to get back into shape so I can enjoy life. I have a long way to go. I've started walking at lunch time and I'm really trying to track my food. I'm told it's get easier as you start your own list. I'm hoping......and I am excited reading what everyone is doing.

Hi Everyone,

I'm Jan-Marie and I am very happy to have found this site. I tried to start a blog a few weeks ago on blogspot hoping to find a support group but found that no one reads it...haha. Maybe I just don't have anything interesting to say? I guess I'll let you be the judge. I am a 22 year old graduate student who has been battling weight issues since middle school. My boyfriend is an offensive lineman and loves to eat, and I'm afraid I've taken advantage of that fact as an excuse for myself. Today, I am done with excuses.

Would love to meet new friends so add me or email me!

Hey guys! I am new to Spark People but certainly not new to the battle of weight loss. I weighed myself this morning and realized that I am slowly but surely loosing the battle of my health. I swore I would never let myself get where I'm at and today I realized that I am here. I'm going to call today my rock bottom.... I have decided to get excited and take control of something that I haven't been able to control my whole life. I am so ready to be healthy and happy about it. No more excuses... it's time for me to get healthy. I'm so excited to see all of your progress, hopefully you guys can help me stay motivated! :-)

Hey everyone! My name is Hannah. I'm a freshman in a tiny private school near Charlotte, NC.
I just joined SparkPeople about 45 minutes ago, and I'm already feeling worlds better than I did earlier today. I'm really hoping that I can find some good, solid, motivational friends on this site that can help me stay encouraged through this process.
My goal weight is 130 lbs or less. I try to walk everyday, but recently, I took a hard fall while rollerskating and fractured my tailbone, so I've been having to take it easy the past couple of days.
I'm really excited to get started and I hope I can find people on here that can help me stay motivated. :)

For I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.

Hi everyone, bright Sparks all, I am sure!

Just joined tonight, and am motivated already. In fact, I just returned from a 43-minute walk while listening to Michael Jackson on my iPod. Heaven! He was such a fantastic musician - complete control of his voice, gorgeous production of his songs, and on and on. I am a fan - can you tell? - and this was the first time I have really listened to his music without having any other distractions. Nothing but Michael, my sneakers and me on my speedy walk.

So, there are 2 firsts in my life today - Spark People, and Michael Jackson's music. Not bad for my first day on SparkPeople, I'd say.

Hi all,
Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I'm new to SP - joined for the first time last Sunday after I woke up and decided that I needed to do something to get back to a place where I feel good about my health and weight. I'm 37 and an expat living abroad in Hong Kong (originally from the US). I'm following the 17 day diet so spend a lot of my time at that team page but I'm also keen to learn from others and how they are meeting their goals. So far I feel great and very happy with the support of people of SP as well as the tracking tools, and reporting of the site. Good luck everyone!

Hi Everyone!
I am joining AGAIN! I first joined after having my daughter in 2005. I was pretty successful but I fell off. Then I rejoined in 2008 but broke my ankle in a bad fall. Sooooo now I am back for good.

I know what has been holding back from success and it is one thing----ME! I try to do things by myself often but I have found that such doesn't work for me. I am a GREAT motivator for others but when it comes to me ....... not so good. SO, here I am and THIS time I will be successful!

Oh I forgot, I am married with 2 young children. One is 6 the other is 4 months old. Yes, I know, I know that the age range is big but look at it like this, they won't be in college at the same time......at least I HOPE not. :o)

Good luck everyone and looking forward to meeting with everyone!

Hi Everyone!

My name is Melanie and I'm returning after 5 years. I originally became a member back in 2006. A friend was doing this while I was doing WW. I think I logged in a few times but was so busy with WW that I just stopped. I had lost over 40 pounds through WW and was content and she had lost close to 100 through this site. This past year I have put on all 40 pounds for various reasons. I'm tired of not fitting into my clothes anymore and tired of paying for WW and not attending of following up, so here I am!! This time I am going to follow through :))

HI! I started on November 28 and this is just a great site! I just turned 37, and I just want to be fit and healthy before I am 40. I feel even more motivated to make a change with all of the information and trackers on it. I have tried so many fad diets in the past, you name it, I have done it. Over the past 3 years I have gained close to 70 lbs and I couldn't believe it. My goal is to lost 100 lbs and be back to where I was before having my 2 beautiful daughters, who are 11 and 7. So, this is it! I am ready to go!!!

Hey - I joined Wednesday and started yesterday. I'm feeling pretty good about it though a little hungry emoticon
The weekend ahead will certainly bring challenges but I hope to remain successful. I also strained my back on Sunday and haven't been able to go to the gym. I'm stretching and doing ab work though. Definitely a reminder of how an extra 10lbs can impact your spine!

hii!! i'm 24 and trying to shift some extra pounds that crept on without me noticing (that's what i tell myself)... my issue is being very indecisive... i go from 'i'm gonna accept my body as it is, i'm curvy, it's feminine' to 'it bothers me, a bit of effort and healthy eating and it'll probably go away so why not'. ping pong. i think this sparky thing might actually do the trick, especially if i can interact with other people, hence making it less likely for me to give up and change my mid again :)
oh yeh and i live in israel (grew up in london and spain though).

started getting attached to my beerbelly... bye bye... :(

Hi all! I'm Amy, I'm from Massachusetts. I was on Sparkpeople around 2009, now I'm back. For the past few months now I've totally lacked any kind of plan- had very tough year which didn't help. Getting a head start for the new year trying to get back into my old healthier habits (and hopefully lose some weight along the way!)

Hi! My name is Cyndi. I am 43 years old and have found that my increased age causes weight loss to come much harder than it used to. I have two children and I know I must lose weight to stick around for them. I have used just about every diet program at one time or another, and even lost 80 pounds on WW a few years back. That weight is now back, and then some! My current goal is to lose 71 pounds by October of 2012 which is when my family will be vacationing in Disney World.

Hi. I'm Melissa. I joined Spark a long long time ago, lost some weight, quit, gained it all back, and now here I am again. I
've just started running but haven't been watching what I put in my mouth so I haven't lost a thing.
I have 51 pounds to lose and could really use some friends to help me through it.
All the best to everyone.

To KNITTY50, regarding the measure tape, if you go to your Start page and click on the Weigh In icon, you'll see it at the top of the measurements page.

Hello

My name is Rachel. I'm 20 and I live in Michigan.

This is actually the third or fourth time I've joined Sparkpeople. The first time I stayed with it for an entire summer, losing 14 pounds-- and then I went back to high school and gained it all back and then some. The other times I joined, I only stuck with it a few days.

So I'm hoping this time will be the most succuessful-- I have 50 pounds to lose. I'm no longer in school or living with my parents, I have a lot more control over what I eat and how I spend my time.

I'm living with my boyfriend, who plans to quit smoking when I reach my weightloss goal.

-Rachel

Hi Everyone,

I have used Sparkpeople before in the past with success, but of course life got in the way, and I've slipped down that awfully slippery slope back to where I was before.
Going to get back on track, back to exercising, and eating a healthier diet.

Mostly this time around I want to find some kind of exercise I can actually stick with that isn't too expensive (I love ballroom dancing, but the cost ended up being a bit too much!)

Wishing you all the best with your journeys!

Hello Everyone,

My name is Brandy. I have been on sparkpeople in the past but found it intimidating not because it is, but because I never wanted to post results from bad days. Now I am at the point where I realize we all have bad days. I want to get in better shape for roller derby. It has helped me lose some weight already, but I would like to lose some more. I guess my biggest challenge is finding time for everything. Between work, four practices a week, couponing, & cooking for my family every night there isn't always a lot of time for the gym.

Good Evening Everyone!

My name is Melissa. I'm a former member of SparkPeople and I've decided that it's time to come back. I've tried other sites and methods of tracking my progress but nothing compares to Spark. I wanted to stay honest, so I deleted my previous account and started over this morning.

I've got about 25-30 pounds that I would like to lose. My program will consist of cardio and strength training combined with working toward a more healthy diet. I have some goals to work toward to help me stay on track. I've got the Aloha Run (8miles) & Warrior Dash (3 mile obstacle course) coming up in March.

I look forward to getting to know you guys and working toward our goals together.

Hi everyone! My name is Jessica and I am re-starting SP this week. I had a ton of success with it and have managed to keep 29 pounds off for over 3 years, but I've started slipping. I had been signed up under another username for the past year, but wasn't working the program and needed a fresh start so here I am again...a newbie. I can't wait to see how we all progress on our journey!

Hey everyone! I'm Taylor =) I just joined SP today & wow! I am love-love-looooving this site. I currently have to lose a little over 100 pounds but instead of sitting around feeling sorry for myself (like I have been doing for many months now), I'm going to do something about it! Which is why I'm here. Joining a site like this is the first step, in my opinion so good job to all of you for making the first move in your journey towards a healthier you.

I, too, have struggled with my weight my entire life. I have lost weight (about 60 pounds) in the past with Weight Watchers but after a stressful time in my life, I ended up gaining the 60 pounds back and then some due to emotional eating/binge eating. I don't want to be that girl anymore. I really want to start new, make a new me, and live a happier- HEALTHIER- life.

Can't wait to see how y'all are doing. We're a team and we can do this together.

Hi. I'm Cortney or Mckenzie which ever you prefer. I am a 23 year old college student that is ready for the next step. I will soon be out of school and I feel that I am ready to have a baby. I have given this great thought and prayer and eventhough I am single I feel that the time is right to begin my journey toward parenthood. The first step for me is to get healthy so that I can conceive and have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby.

Hello, My name is Barb and this is my first time on SparkPeople, I am looking for support, motivation and tools to help me on my journey to shed the extra 50 pounds that I am carrying aroung. I am from Lancaster County, PA and am married and have a 4 four year old daughter. I work full time and spend my "free time" with my family.

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit.

I'm a returning member who's looking to live a healthier lifestyle. I recently graduated from college and started teaching Family and Consumer Sciences as well as 2 Health classes. As a Health teacher, I need to be an example and right now, I'm not leading a very health life. So, it's time for me to start eating healthier and exercising 6 times a week.

This summer I lost 40 pounds working at a factory and having little stress. With a more sedentary lifestyle and access to food all of the time, the weight has been slowly creeping back on. I want to stop gaining and start losing again! It felt so good to be skinnier and I miss that feeling!

Anyways, I'm looking forward to using Spark People as a tool to aid me in reaching my goal of living a healthier lifestyle, not just losing weight. :)

Hi, my name is Melanie and I've used spark before and found results. I'm hoping I can stick to it this time instead of losing some and gaining more over and over again! This is a great site but it is so important to actually utilize everything/everyone on it. The time to change is here!

Hello! I'm Dani, and I've been on and off Sparkpeople since 2008. I'm one of those people that find it very hard to lose weight, and Sparkpeople helped me a lot! I lost 30 pounds at one point, but have slooowly been gaining some of it back ever since. I'm currently aiming to lose 10 pounds, but do it while making lifestyle changes. I also signed up for a half marathon in a fit of insanity, and I don't even run, so I have some motivation there! I'm hoping now I'll be able to make the commitment to spark and find some support along the way.

Hi! My name is Nicole and I live in Boise. I am married and have 3 kids. In 2008, I lost 40 pounds just by making different food choices and working out at home. In Jan.2010 my husband was laid off and I became depressed and didn't want to do anything but eat and cry. He went back to work in Aug. but out of town and so the depression stayed and I kept gaining weight. I am at the heaviest I have ever been and have tried to diet and exercise again but with no will power to stick to either, I decided to join here to see if I can start to get back to where I was before.

Hi my name is Courtney and I've decided to start over on SparkPeople. I've lost about 24 lbs and now I'm stuck at a constant weight for about 2 weeks now. I decided to join because I wanted to continue losing my weight and become healthier. Goals have helped me in the past so this team will surely give me motivation with the challenges and everything. I look forward to losing weight, being healthy, and all the challenges I'll be doing. :)

Hi! My name is Andi. I'm not new to SparkPeople but I am starting over. I'm 21 and a new teacher - 7th grade English. I had my first child in June of this year. He's almost 6 months old and SUPER active. I lost all of my baby weight...but I'm still 184 lbs. I need to get down to somewhere between 150 and 160. I started P90X three days ago and, WOW, what a workout! I'm hoping I can stay committed to that for the 90 days and see what happens! :)

Phew!

This site is soooooo much like Weight Watchers w/o having to pay...I LOVE it! I think us newbies will do very well! I've just gone through and tracked for today. I normally wouldn't wait until the end of the day to do so, but I didn't know I'd be doing this till about 4pm today! As long as I don't snack tonight, I've only eaten 1255k today, even with having had pizza; fortunately it was a thin crust, veggie one! GOOD CHOICE! I'm very motivated already! Can't wait for tomorrow, even with some stressful events happening, I'm ready to go!

Hello. I joined today because I am determined to get my weight down where it should be. I found this site by accident when looking for a recipe. I have been on the Southbeach diet and lost 5lb, then the holidays started and I've gotten stalled. You know how that is! I am married and my husband has heart problems so he needs to be careful of his diet as well. Hoping I can stick with this one! (Hope I am adding this message right)

Hi! I've used Sparkpeople before and it helped me lose 30 pounds, but I stopped using the site, and gained all my weight back. I've been trying to lose weight again, starting at the end of October and have lost about 20 pounds. I have been stuck at the same weight for 3 weeks now and am starting to get frustrated, so I decided to try Sparkpeople again. I've still got 50 pounds to lose, but want to make this a lifestyle change for not just me, but for my family. I've even started Family Runs on Saturdays, where my son, husband and I go running/walking...my son loves it and keeps me motivated to keep running (we have TONS of races lol). Anyways, good luck to everyone!

Hi everyone and newbies! I, too, am new to this. I'm a Life Timer x4 yrs with WW having lost 75 lbs. Was doing terrific at maintaining till some unexpected MAJOR stress appeared in my life...my mom's Parkinson's progressed ( I am her caregiver as I am also a R.N. ) & my bf wants me to move to P'cola. Everything I was doing went out the window. My chronic pain has increased as has my depression, hence the emotional eating I MUST get this under control.

So, here I am!

Hi everyone. I joined today and am also a bit overwhelmed. I have been fighting my weight my whole life (and lost most of the time). I lost alot of weight on weight watchers after joining when my daughter was born 8 years ago. I truly loved the program, but after losing motivation and gaining it all back, I felt I couldnt continue spending the money on a program I wasn't following. So, I decided to give Sparkpeople a try. One day at a time.

Hello

My name is Tania and I'm a new member here. I'm already on a diet for around a month and I lost 5 kg but I would like to have permanent results so I decided to join Sparkpeople. I wouldn't like just to loose the weight, I would like to change my eating habits so I think I'm on the right place. I have 12 more kg to loose so I guess I will stay here for quite a long time :D

Hi Team, I'm Julie. I'm one of this team's leaders. I have two grown daughters. One is married with children the other is still home with us. I joined Sparkpeople on 3/1/2008 and lost 75 pounds in the first year. I am learning to maintain plus working on losing a little more. Welcome to the team everyone. This is a FUN journey if you let it be !!!

Hello Team! My name is Elise. I have two grown children with my wonderful husband. Now that the kids are out of the house it is time that I start taking care of myself. I have hope for a healthier future.
