There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results.
When you get to a plateau, think of it as a landing on the stairway to your goal. And
maintenance is a lifelong plateau, so a bit of "rehearsal" for maintenance isn't the worst thing in the world

emoticon and emoticon You're wise to start slowly. Sparkpeople has so many resources to help you. I've belonged for ten years and although I haven't lost much weight, I've learned to make healthier choices and made some amazing friends.
On snowy Manitoba afternoons like this one, I wish I lived in BC but....

I am not close to you but I do live in Cloverdale.
Good for you for starting a new regime of looking after yourself. This is a great site and certainly lots of teams to help you along the way.
I love Sparks and I am thankful for finding this site quite a few years ago.

I'm 53 - just had my birthday last week - January 15th.

I haven't officially started anything I'm in need of a big stock up shop on produce and such to really start this plan off right well in my eyes anyhow. Meanwhile I'm eating what I have in the house nothing that is bad or isn't "allowed" but just watching portions of it for now.

I have the ability to do a bit of fitness at my desk at work so I take 1 to 2 minute fitness breaks once an hour. I may even start to climb up and down the stairs for something different and to stretch my legs. As long as I'm doing my work that is all that matters right?

I can work out longer on weekends which is good as I'm at home.

I'm single, training to be a life coach and plan to make that my side business until I can turn into full time.

Would love to make friends here and if anyone is near me maybe we can hang out sometime.
