hi terry I have 20 pds to lose i have already lost 40 pds but am really struggling with the last 20. you said you have 100 pds to lose sounds overwhelming how about making smaller goals like 20 pds for now? I believe u can do it!

hi Im cyndi Im 49 I am a nurse but am now retired! Im married to a wonderful man and I work full time taking care of him and our home. Hi. My name is Liz. I just turned 50. I have always had problems with food. My start weight was 244 and today I weigh 167.4. My first goal was to weigh under 170. My next goal was to weight under 160. My final goal is to weigh under 150. I do need to exercise more. I'll work on that. Wednesdays is the best weigh in day for me. I'm really excided to be on this team.

Hi everyone! I am Wei. I am 26 and work at a school. I have gained 10 lbs since February thanks to mindless snacking and weekend overeating. I have been exercising regularly but my effort seems to be of no avail! The scale is not moving (if not going up) and I am still struggling to stay within my calorie range during weekends.

I have to attend 3 weddings in the coming months and I want to put on the blue dress I got last summer! I need to keep myself accountable and eventually get back on track!

Hi! I'm Caitlin, and I am a 27-year-old from Maryland. I am a former college athlete-- I played field hockey and lacrosse, and I still do on club teams on weekly basis. However, I have slowwwlllyyyy gained about 35 pounds over the past seven years, and I just realized that I really need to do something about it. I actually have been a member of SparkPeople for the past four years, but I stopped and started and stopped and started over and over again.

Last week, on July 4th, was when I realized I really need to do something NOW. When I woke up and the first thing on my mind was how much I was dreading wearing a bathing suit, I realized that if I didn't really start working hard to lose the weight, I would never do it. So here I am! I'm ready to go :-)

Here to stay! AGAIN! Let's do this!

Well, My Name is Corinna I'm 20 years old and I'm from germany. I've always been a little chubby, but I once promised myself, I'd never get over 100 kg. In January, I weighed 104,5 kg. So I decided that something just had to change. I lost 4,5 kg on my own and joined SP when I was exactly at 100 kg. So now I'm busy losing weight. I want to be slim by the time I'm 22. ;) I'm still young and I have a lot of life left to live and I want to live it slim and healthy. So, here I am

Hi everyone. I'm Joan. I just got on the scale this morning and am up a half pound, after exercising religiously all week. Instead of getting discouraged I've decided to focus not only on my daily workouts but also my food. And have started entering my measurements to keep me on track and get encouraged by any inches lost.

This is my first time on SparksPeople and I find it's a good fit for me. I'm the one responsible and in charge of how I use this site and how I make it work for me. And I like being accountable to a group!

Hello everyone, my name's Herbert I'm 29 and live in South Louisiana where the food is hard to resist! I started a diet nearly six weeks ago, weighing 280 pounds I was ready to lose some weight. Being a picky eater made it difficult but I took the healthiest foods I like and have clung to them for dear life, eating mostly scrambled eggs and grilled chicken breasts tenderloins, with apples and fiber bars for snacks. I have been tweaking things here and there along the way, at time I eat things I shouldn't but so far so good I'm down to 265 pounds averaging a three pound loss per week. I have recently added walking and weight lifting to my schedule and have been walking three miles per day every other day, I am about to try to start jogging also. One things for sure, I'm feeling great, with alot more energy and alot less aches and pain's.

Hi everyone! I'm a 43-yr-old housewife with a good 100 pounds to lose (that I put on over 17 years). I surely don't feel or act 43, but I know if I don't lose the pounds now a lot can go wrong in the next half of my life healthwise.

Hi everyone, I'm Zenna. I just turned 26. I'm looking to lose some weight and gain a healthier lifestyle. To be specific, I am starting at 201, and would like to weigh around 115. Hello, I am Kim from Caney, OK. I am married to a great man. Together we have 5 kids. Two from his previous marriage who are grown. Two from mine 14 and 9, and we have a two year old daughter. I am 33 and still have part of the weight I gained from last pregnancy plus some. I'm completely committed to losing at least 20 pounds. I'm 145 now. After being with spark for almost a month with little result, I have finally lost a measly pound and an inch. It has been depressing not seeing much differences but I won't quit.

Today is my first day and I'm excited about FINALLY doing this! I've got a lot to lose and I've decided to take it one step at a time, with prayer and much determination, I'm sure I'll reach my goals. I think my downfall in the past has always been my rushing things. Trying to do too much at in a short amount of time, trying to lose like they do on the biggest loser show when I know I don't have the five to eight hours to devote to exercising like the contestants do. I've decided slow is best for me so my goal is to lose at least 2 pounds a week. (can't wait for my first weight in!)

I have been on sparks for a couple of years but not been consistant or had any progress. I recently had to stop having any dairy and it has really helped to trim me down my waist has lost 7 inches and I lost 5 pounds. I am so thrilled toget a push start and having sparks people is such a great place to get the added support I so need too. emoticon
I am a 47 year old mother to a soon to be 16 year old son, and married to a wonderful husband of two and a half years. I am a developmental specialist for infant and toddlers who are at risk or developmentally delayed. I travel a good deal with my job and it has made for a seditary couple of years. I also recently recovered from plantar phatisis in my foot that kept me from going on walks for a year. I have been going to yoga since the beginning of the year and really enjoy it.Excited for a new future so strength and a renewed energy!!!

Hi!
I've been a Spark member for a few years but I get off track and don't visit for a while...hoping to get back on track with this team. I'm a wife and mom with four kids - two 20-somethings and 16 yo twins. I teach 2nd grade and am currently enjoying summer emoticon although I'm taking seven "workshops" this summer emoticon

After several injuries in a car accident a few years ago I've steadily gained weight. I lose a few but them gain it back...I'm losing again and want to keep it that way. I'm riding my bike each day and eating less and better.

I think I'm going to weigh in twice a week for a while to keep me accountable

My first goal is to lose 25 lbs...I have ten lbs. to go...I would like to get that off by September then 25 more by my birthday in February...then another ten by summer.

My name is Susan, I live in CA. I am married, 35 years old, have a 9mth old and a 4 yr old. I work 10 hr days and rarley have time to myself. That has been my excuse to put off doing something about my weight, which has been bothering me for a long time. I gained the weight over a period of 10 yrs and when i was 9 mths pregnant in August 2011 tipped the scale at 189 lbs., the biggest i have ever been. When i had my daughter i lost enough weight to fit into my pre-preggo jeans but i decided that it was not enough. I decided to take control and stop making excuses. To be honest i don't know how that happened. So i signed up for sparkpeople after i read a success story article online. I cut my portions, adjusted my diet and made time for myself and began working out. I have lost 14 lbs in the last 2 months. I fit into my old jeans, feel so much better about myself and have more energy for my kids. On Sunday i weighed 174, i haven't seen that number in a while. It made me smile, i hope to leave it in the dust by next week (fingers crossed) because i still have another 20 lbs to go.

Hi, I'm Emily. I'm 34 years old, I live in Western New York. I am a third grade teacher with a second job working with the Boys and Girls Clubs. I'm also getting married in three weeks!

My life is pretty full, and I have a lazy streak that I badly need to rid myself of. I do so much outside of the home that I don't have enough time for myself. This must change. I want to have children, and in order to do that safely, I must lose some weight.

I've decided to take this day by day and focus on smaller goals rather than the big picture. So, I will lose this weight 10 pounds at a time.

My weigh-in day will be Tuesday, so I will be back to weigh in tomorrow morning.

Slowly but surely wins the race.

Hey all, my name is Beth, and I decided to join this group for a little bit of accountability. I've been an on and off Sparker for a few years now.. but once again, my re-spark-ing (or something) has provided some success for me, and reminded me of why I SHOULD BE DOING IT ALL THE TIME, and also not just dumping it once I get to my "goal weight" or anywhere near it.

The largest I have ever been is 210 pounds; the smallest I have ever been is 142; lately I have been in the neighborhood of 150-160. I am aiming to get to 140, but I'd be pretty happy with 150. (I'm 5'7.")

My name is Jen. VT is my home state. Awesome day today. I have been overweight all of my adult life. Hi there

my name is Carole, I'm 46 years old, live in a suburb of Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

I weight 250 lbs in 2006 and during a 10 month period, I've lost 80 lbs. I've kept it off since, gaining and losing the same 15 lbs over and over.

I still have some weight to lose, 35-40 pounds and they just don't want to leave my body!

So, maybe by being accountable and having to publicly post my week's result, I will work harder and finally break this plateau.

Hey all- My name is Cassie and I am 26 years old. I am looking to lose around 120-130 pounds. I was the heaviest I have ever been at 260 pounds. I have been on for a week and have lost 4.6 pounds so far! I got my weight down to 170 twice, but ended up gaining it back. My previous highest weight was 225, but with my last weight gain I went higher than I have ever been after my boyfriend was in a bike accident and I went back to using food as a crutch/comfort. I'm looking to get off my butt and lose the weight for real this time. This is my first time on spark and so far I am really enjoying all the tools!

Hi! My name is Dawn.I have started my weight loss journey over and over again. I have no sense of direction when it comes to finding my way from point A to point B so I guess my weight loss journey fits in with that. Whether I am driving or trying to lose excess weight, I seem to keep going in circles. Here I am starting out again. I have been a type 2 diabetic since December 2010, and my weight has fluctuated, but I weighed about the same Friday as I did 18 months ago. My doctor has never scolded me, but I told her I was unhappy with lack of progress. She asked me how much I thought I wanted to lose in a month and I said 10 pounds. She said that was ambitious, but okay, then when you come back in 3 months for A1C check, that's 30 pounds. I sooooooooooo love a challenge.

I'm Deb. I have been here on SP since 2010, but haven't really been online at all this year. I find myself once again needing to start over. I keep letting myself down, giving up, but I always pick myself up and try again.

I know I am at a dangerous weight. I am at risk for so many health problems, and now that I'm 38, I know that the time is going to pass me by if I don't take the opportunity to do something!

I'm not very hopeful at the moment, but I'm hoping that being here will relight my spark.

Hi! i'm KimD and I've been a member of SparkPeople since 2009 but not faithfully so +30# and 3 years later I'm back full force. My husband and I both have committed to become healthy through eating clean, exercising, and dropping the weight. I'm a runner and participate in about 8 races a year, one being a half-marathon in October. My poor feet can't take the abuse and need the rest of me to lighten up! All encouragement is gladly accepted!

Hello everyone. My name is Melissa and I am a disabled single mom of 2 boys who are getting up in the teen years and I find more time on my hands lately. I am entering a new time in my life and I don't want to do that at the weight I am now. I am completely motivated and feel like its time for me now (like my name : ) ) I weigh on Mondays so I will definitely be posting my loss for this week then. Great to be here.

Hi All,
My name is Penny (Pen 4 short). I am a 44 year old with some health issues that make it hard 4 me 2 lose weight. My doctor was worried when she found out that I gained 7 Lbs in the 1st 5 days of this program. So lots of testing going on. I have decided 2 continue 2 eat healthier, exercise,Track, Read, Set Goals, Blog, & all the things I need 2 do 2 stay on my journey 2 better health. I look 4ward 2 following this Forum. Hi Everyone, just joined this group! I am a horse crazy 25yr old who lives in Maine. :) I am trying to kick butt and loose all the weight I gained back from my car accident I had last year on August. I am currently kicking gluten foods to the curb and have already curbed my appetite for sweets, not just working on being able to drink the 8 glasses of water a day I need. I am looking to start college soon to be a Dietician Nutritionist and I will be using myself as a journey journal to show those that I struggled too with my weight and wish to help them succeed :)!

Hi everyone, today is my first day! I am a 31 year old mother of 2 boys. I just had boy #2 11 weeks ago. I only gained 13 lbs with that pregnancy and lost that but I never lost the weight I gained 6 years ago with my first pregnancy. I am hoping to lose 20 lbs by November!

Hi there! My name is Samantha and this is my third time using Spark people. I am hoping third times a charm. I won't give up this time and hopefully I can get all the help I need from you guys! I'm from Fort Worth and just finished college in Amarillo. I never told myself I would reach over 180 and I did. Just two weeks ago I weighed in at 186, and decided it was time for a change. Today I was 182 and getting down there. Now my goal weight is to be around 110 and fit into a bikini by next summer yay! emoticon
