Day 2 had a couple of glitches. I forgot to waer my Spark in the afternoon and at a couple of non-meno foods. However, I did eat the calories suggested and walked the necessary steps-my route is very familiar. My goal is to follow the plan the Spark People suggest for meals and exercise. Nancy. emoticon and the very best day fo everyone.

Hi there!
Day 2 of my Sparkcoach trial. I have been on sparkpeople.com for awhile now, and previously lost some weight, but have gained it back and am now looking for something more structured.
Excited to try this out!

Hello,

I am new (again) to spark. I signed up a long time ago and then stopped logging in, even though i would read the email and loved getting the work out tips, I just wasnt doing anything about my fitness. So here I am again, this time I am making real long term changes. I am ready to actually improve my life and my health by getting fit and eating better. Now that I know what its like to really be really overweight, I have decided that I really dont like how I look and how I feel. It is time to make things better.

so I am happy to be here, I am greatful this program exists, and I am willing to put the time and effort in to making changes for the better...

“Don't let the fear of the time it will take to accomplish something stand in the way of your doing it. The time will pass anyway; we might just as well put that passing time to the best possible use.”

“The more intensely we feel about an idea or a goal, the more assuredly the idea, buried deep in our subconscious, will direct us along the path to its fulfillment.”

Hello, SparkPeople!

My name is Jessica and I am trying out SparkCoach for the week trial. So far, I like it. It seems more engaging than other online coaching programs I've tried. Accountability is my downfall. If I don't track my food or weight, I must be doing okay, right? Yikes! Not so much, apparently.

I do enjoy the program so far and I am pushing myself to be more engaged, so that I get more out of it. Procrastination is something I am working on overcoming. Just ask my snooze button!

I work FT as a nurse, I am back in school pursuing my baccalaureate degree in nursing and want to continue on with my education and career past bedside nursing, perhaps as a Nurse Practitioner or Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. I know I need to focus more on my own health and fitness to keep up with all I want to do and learn, hence the program.

Looking forward to learning and losing (weight) with all of you!

Have a great evening!

emoticon

I read your post, Doris, and was comforted by our similarities. My mother's name was Doris and I've been on and off of SparkPeople for years. My lack of exercise and weight gain pushed pre-diabetes over the line to Type 2 diabetes. I'm working on a BFA degree in digital art and have not been motivated to commit to the exercise I need. I'm starting today with a Denver Botanic Gardens stroll.

Best wishes for a successful journey,

Mia

Hi. I'm Doris. I've been a member of SparkPeople since 2009, and have been on & off. I regained quite a bit of weight after some extenuating circumstances, but I am back and trying to re-lose the weight I gained. I did well in January, but as typically happens to me, when something interferes with my routine, I get derailed so I am working to get back on track.

I had already been checking in with SparkPeople regularly, but I have been feeling discouraged the past couple of weeks so I thought I'd give SparkCoach a try. I did attempt to do a trial about 1 1/2 years ago, but my heart wasn't in it, and I didn't devote the time needed to really give it a fair shot.

I'm a type 2 diabetic and, before I regained this weight, I had reversed my diabetes. So I need to get on the ball to lose this weight, and get my glucose under better control.

Thanks for listening.

Doris

Hi everyone. I am Jen. I have been off and on sparkspeople since 2009. This is the first time I have done it with sparks coach. The program is a lot easier to use than before. I even have my oldest doing sparkspeople with me. We can and will do it.

Hi All,

I am a 4th time repeat, but this time is different as every other time I thought I needed to do this, but now I want to do it and it has made a difference for me. I am married, with 2 girls at home and have been working on this since the beginning of the year and was down 12lbs as of Friday last week, Fridays are my weigh in days. But saying this I had a boo and a yahhhh moment today. Got on the scale and I am up 2lbs, however, more excitingly I went down a notch on my belt this morning.

So here's to every ones great successes.

Hello all!
My name is Sammi. and I'm BRAND new so SparkPeople/SparkCoach. Everything really. I have about 80+ to lose. I have found it so hard, because so many of my friends are thin, and I feel like they don't understand. But I want to try. It's hard for me. because I tend to lose motivation so easily.

I'm excited to get started. :)

Hi I'm Susan. I "resparked" as of 11/25/13 and so far am down 30 pounds. It's my 3rd or 4th time on SparkPeople and the big difference this time really is my daily interactions on Spark Coach! It's like my own little meeting with a wellness counselor...not sure what will happen if they run out of topics, but for now, I am learning, learning, learning!

Hi Everyone- wishing you all a great weekend! My name is Linda. It's been three years and I am back at Spark. Unfortunately, not staying on top of the things and allowing myself to get lazy by not keeping up with my food/fitness trackers, etc, has brought on 25 lbs. So, here I am. I am amazed how much Spark has grown, it offers so much! Very exciting! Glad to be back for all that, of course- not happy about those annoying lbs. Motivated to get in my new shape. Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Hi. I'm Lisa. I have been using SP on and off for 2yrs. I have finally realised I can no longer do it by myself. There were many conflicting differences with other programs. I have been diagnosed with depression, anxiety and personality difficulties. I have gained so much weight over the past 6 months or so and I need to get a grip with my health....so here I am.

Good afternoon all! I have been around Spark b4 (twice) - I'm embarassed to admit that. I have tried self determination, deprivation, kicking my own rear end, and just can't seem to find the motivation to make something happen. I was in a local TOPS group about 10-12 years ago & had success. I hit my goal!! Then, life got busy with my daughter (a teenager at the time) and I didn't have the time needed to dedicate to TOPS & made every excuse in the book for letting myself go again. I got bigger than the first time I ever started TOPS! emoticon I started in a new TOPS group 3 years ago with renewed umph & lost 18 lbs in the first year. I even became a division winner for our group! Then, the lazies hit again. I can't seem to convince myself this is a LIFESTYLE change & go right back to the old habits. This past Monday I stepped on the scale in total embarassment. I weighed in 3 lbs HEAVIER than my starting weight in Feb 2011 & I cried. Unbelievable. I have a new grandbaby due in March & I want to be around for him. I want to be active & have fun with this little guy & not be that fat, boring, sedentary grandma that is so out of shape we can't go outside to play on the swingset. So here I go again! I know I can, I know I can!!
emoticon Looking forward to getting to know everyone! Pam

Hi, I've been on sparkpeople for a few years, lost 111lbs, then gained a little last year (emotional stuff), currently at the high end of normal weight but would like to get back to where I was. I'm healthy but usually just don't feel like exercising. That would make the difference if I liked to exercise. Thank-you for your support and I hope from time to time I can help you along your journey to discovering more about yourself as you lose weight.

Hi, I'm Abigail. My journey with SP actually began in January of 2009, and by May of that year I had lost around 40 pounds. But that year ended up going downhill. I lost my dad suddenly that May when he suffered a heart attack, my grandfather passed away in November, and in September my 5 year old son was diagnosed with cancer (he's now a healthy, happy 9 year old). Needless to say I didn't stick with my routines no matter how much I wanted to. I've gained a lot of it back, and though I've tried on my own to get back into the swing of things, it only lasted for a short time. But now I'm back, and I'm going to try hard. I miss being happy while clothes shopping!

Hi, I'm Kasey. I'm new to Spark. I've been exploring and creeping for a week or so just trying to get the hang of it and see what people are talking about. So far my favorite thing is the support every one has given to each other! It just flat out amazed me!! For so long I have felt like I was on this road alone, but Spark has definitely shown me something new.

Looking forward to meeting some incredible people, and learning some new things about myself .
Would love to know the different things (food, workouts, ect.) that you guys have tried and love, so that I could switch up my routines!! (Kick Boxing and Zumba are my top 2)

The Biggest thing I need to work on is my portion control... what I think is 3 oz. of cooked noodles and what really is 3 oz. are very different from what I experimented with today!!!

If you would like to know anything or just chat or some "tip" exchanges, please feel free to send me a message!!!

Hi, I'm Emma and I am back to the spark and decided to try the coach thing and see if it helped keep me on track. I already tried e-mailing a coach and I love the response. She thought I might be drinking my calories but No. Diabetics would have to appologize to the endrocrinologist if they did that. I am happy to be here and looking forward to my own personal Broccoli day today. Yesterday I was so hungry today I will be filled up with complex carbs. How fun is that? Making up my own special day. emoticon I'm still leading two of the grief groups for losing Mom or Dad I couldn't believe my name was still on there. A lot of people respond to grief my gaining weight I know I sure did. I'm looking forward to spending quality time hear learning and learning about how to stick to it until it gets done.

Stick with it Kat. You'll learn how to eat healthy food and feel much better too. There are plenty of grocery store items you can eat that you can still lose weight with. I'm not much of a cook and I've often been known to say, "If it doesn't come out of a box or can, I don't fix it." I've been on SP since October of last year, and I've lost 22 lbs. I've also come off of 4 medications. Just read the labels on the food in the grocery store and you'll do fine. SP also has a list of healthy foods you can eat at the more popular take out places. Take care.

Hello! My name is Kat and I have recently returned to SparkPeople. I found that when I stopped before it was because I was doing too much at once on the site and it took too much time out of my schedule. This time around I am going to stick to doing a little bit at a time, especially on my Spark Page and the number of teams I join. I am primarily here because I really need to get my nutrition under control so I can finally lose some weight. My exercise routine isn't much of an issue because I train for half marathons and other running events. My eating habits are my downfall though and is the reason I need to lose close to 100 pounds, so I can work toward finishing my first marathon in October 2015. In addition I don't like to cook very much. Not so much because I don't enjoy cooking, I definitely do, but my apartment's kitchen is pretty small and it doesn't leave much room for preparation.

Looking forward to supporting one another and getting to know the members on this board!

Hello everyone,

My name is Tamika. I have used SP on and off for about 7 years. I lost 300+ lbs over a ten year period and have about 200 more to lose. I have been on track for about three months and need the extra push to remain on track. I wish you all the best. emoticon

I am in the same boat! I have working really hard without much success. I have read that it is near impossible to lose weight during menopause but I won't give up. It will just take a little more work I guess. keep up the good work you are doing.

for the last two year i have been trying to lose weight following WW - however, right now i weigh more than we i started. Acccording to my Dr. it is menopause and the medication i am taking that has made it difficult for me to lose weight. But i am trying to re-start myself and get back into good habits and healthy eating. so far so good, tomorrow wil be the end of my first week, so i will see what the scale has to say.

My daughter gave me a three month SC gift. So here I am. Several years into Sparkpeople and still at the same or little higher weight. I have rededicated myself to getting healthy since my husband and I have completed a move cross country from PA to AZ where he is a senior pastor of a church and I am a semi retired antique dealer (actually sold most of the business rather than move it) into a retirement community. It took six months since we moved ourselves at less than 1/2 the price of a moving company. I have packed, moved, stored, sold our belongings. Found a new house, sold an old house, and refinanced already. Had a partial mascetomy and buried my mother over the last six months. Moved away from my four precious children into a community filled with activity, 4 recreational centers, 9 golf courses (no I don't golf), 2 mini golf, lots of bocce, shuffleboard, 6 pools, and more then lots of new faces and names beginning over.

So with the beginning over it was time to concentrate on being healthy. My husband and I are working together, eating better and setting up a time for exercise at least 3 days a week. Motivation has been a problem in the past as well as being able to maintain staying on a program that will indeed change our lifestyles. I could write a book on excuses to keep from succeeding.

I resigned and weighed myself at the beginning of the year and have already take great strides by losing 12 pounds as well as tracking food for 13 days now. I have found a friend to hike with in the local mountains.

Thank you to all who help keep me accountable and on the right track.

Be a good steward. I need to take care of all that God has given me.

Hello everyone! I just signed up for SC today. I need the motivation, support and accountability! I have been on the medifast program in the past and I am having a incredibly hard time getting back on the program (or any program) recently. I am excited about this this new opportunity. I have been on spark people for a few years but recently got reconnected when I purchased my Spark tracker which I love! emoticon

Hello,

I just started the Spark program. For the past 2 days I have stuck to the diet. I am looking forward to lose the weight that I have put on over the past 15 years. I do not have the baby excuse anymore.

Yup, you WILL lose the weight and it is under your control. Other health issues may or may not abate but you will feel better, anyway. Go girl!

Hey Melissa,
You will get what you want, baby steps and you will get there. I am trying to lose my " baby fat" too and my baby will be 27 in April.

Hi I am continuing on a diet I started last year, 30 more lbs to go.... Can't afford to continue the coaching right now, but will definitely do it once my WW subscription is up. Love your forum better. More responsive and fun.

Living the deep freeze now. Day 4 of Cabin Fever. They might call us off again tomo. I'm ready to go back. The school year will continue without a break until summer school. Ah, well, my hubby still has to go back into it.

Several main reasons for my weight loss: Objective is to lose the weight by July 1 for my daughter's wedding
Main objective is to get to my healthiest weight so I can be active as I age gracefully...
So hello to all you out there. Looking for friends and encouragers. I'll encourage you right back. emoticon

My name is Melissa and I just turned 50. I have no functioning thyroid, which makes this a little tougher. After I got pregnant with my triplet boys, I gained 100 pounds. I have been fighting to lose the last half of that since they were babies (they're 15, now). My FIRST goal is to finally get back to the weight I was when I got pregnant - that would make me happy. My second goal would be to get to the THIN weight I was when I met my husband - that would be a bonus.

I would like to welcome all new members.
Laell303, I know how you feel my goal isn't really weight loss but more getting myself off meds.
