Hi there, glad you are becoming the little social butterfly here! Working nights can be really hard on your sleeping. I used to work 3rds and I hated it. Learning to get used to noise is a big thing, the light as well. Try making a regular routine to stick to so your body can wind down for sleep better. I hope you can get some rest soon.

I am 3 1/2 months new to SparkPeople and it has been a blessing. I have not been real present on social type websites and it's taking some getting used to, but I like checking in to see that I am not alone and get encouragement to continue this journey. I have been noticing lately that my sleeping habits are terrible. As of right now I have been up for 26 hours straight and am moving into my 27th hour. I don't know how I'm functioning right now, but I am. I work nights (12-13 hrs) at my full time job and then have to adjust to day-shift for my part-time job on the days I'm off at my regular work. This has been going on for about a year and a half and it is taking a toll on me. My body does not have a sleep schedule and it's almost impossible to create one. I have a yearly physical coming up next week and would like to hear from you all any questions I should bring up to my doc. I have heard about asking for a vitamin panel to check my magnesium levels and vitamin B (or B6) levels. Any more suggestions on the discussion I should start with my doc. Oh, I was put on Rx meds (an actual anti-depressant) to help me sleep, they don't work and have awful lingering side effects.
