Walk more often

WRITING GOALS:
Finish a novel in 2020 and record the audio for one of my published books as well.

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE:
I work on the bones my book(s) about once a week, but only add the flowery prose when emotionally inspired

WRITING PREFERENCES:
I write poetry, plays, reference materials, and both fictional and nonfictional prose.

WHAT I WANT TO DO WITH THE FIT TO WRITE TEAM:
Learn about how to get an agent or get picked up by a traditional publishing house, as I am "done" with vanity publishing houses, even if they are under the banner of a traditional publishing house.

WEIGHT GOALS:
I would like to loose 40lbs. I started the year out at working on five pounds a month. It's not going so good but I'll keep trying!

NUTRITION GOALS:
Staying within my recommended limits on my nutrition tracker.
Drinking AT LEAST 64 oz water each day.

FITNESS GOALS:
Getting at least 8,500 steps in every day. Doing a heart rate increasing exercise for at least 10 minutes 3-4 times a week.

WRITING GOALS:
Finish my 85K90 project including edited and ready for publishing.
Edit the two other novels I have a finished first draft of.
Finish writing my Myth of Magic novel and connected novels.
Write at least 5 days a week.

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE:
Writing every day. (Habit I want to have.)
Keep accurate record of words written/ minutes spent on writing projects whether editing, plotting or what-have-you.

WRITING PREFERENCES:
fantasy fiction/dystopian fiction and Sunday School materials

WHAT I WANT TO DO WITH THE FIT TO WRITE TEAM:
Encourage other writers with their dreams and goals and receive the same encouragement in return.

Updating my intro.

MY BLOG OUTSIDE OF SP (IF I HAVE ONE) IS AT:
I'm not even good at keeping up with the one on SP. I had one once. Somewhere.

WEIGHT GOALS:
I'm trying to maintain goal weight. Since my late 30's, early 40's I've been in a pattern of gain 10lbs in winter, lose it over the spring, get back to where I should in summer to early fall, then back to gaining again. In 2012 it wasn't 10 pounds anymore, it was 22 and it was taking me longer to lose the 10+ with each year.

NUTRITION GOALS:
I do best when I'm logging all my food, not just in terms of calories, but overall balance. UPDATE: I'm only tracking my water intake. I feel like I've got a good handle on this and if I find myself off track, I'll start again.

FITNESS GOALS:
10 minutes at least, but hitting the gym 3x/week striving for 30 minutes of cardio a day. UPDATE: Less gym time, but generally have the fitness thing going. I've got to work on balance though. Finding I'm struggling more with it as I age and it was never good to start with.

WRITING GOALS:
I'm all over the place with my writing goals. I honestly do want to be published someday, but the rejections I've gotten so far are valid. Every year my family has a Halloween party and I write a short story (presented as a book). This year I got some amazing feedback. I don't know that it is able to become a full novel or not, but I really want to focus working on this one and see about self-publishing this puppy. I'll need to do some serious research to make this story hold up, so research will be part of the goal too. UPDATE: Not really focusing on publishing at this stage. I want to just write and enjoy it. Rejection made me enjoy it less - a lot less. I do a lot of tech. writing for work and I hate it, but I'm fairly good at it, so that will have to be may professional writing gig.

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE:
I do NaNoWriMo every year since the first stab at it. 2008? Maybe 2009. I usually put aside writing for a bit after that. This year, I'm only giving myself the rest of the month off. Writing daily will be tough, particularly with some surgery in my future. First 2 days post-op will be in ICU. Won't be writing then. Maybe not the first few days when I'm home either. Trying to be strict by writing often and regularly, but extending some compassion to myself as well (I suck at that on every level). UPDATE: surgery made everything more difficult than I expected. It's all good now. As of 3/2/19, I have written daily.

WRITING PREFERENCES:
Paranormal romance has always been my fall back. I'm happy there with the people that live in my alternative reality. I also write some psychological "stuff" - is the main character really seeing ghosts or is she batty? - that sort of stuff. This year was my first horror story and quite frankly, I gave myself nightmares. Best feedback ever though.


WHAT I WANT TO DO WITH THE FIT TO WRITE TEAM:
I really want to find a place that understands both being fit and writing take effort. Sometimes I need encouragement to carve out time for one or the other. I'd like a good balance of those two things. By the same token, I would like to offer that encouragement to others. UPDATE: I've been awful at being a good team member. I do some challenges and I spin for team bonus points, but as a co-leader of another team, I find my time here tends to be there rather than here. Going to try to be here more than I have been.

NUTRITION GOALS:
Increase calorie intake
Keep to low carbs/sugars
Maintain my lowered A1C

FITNESS GOALS:
I have Dystonia. Dystonia is akin to Parkinson's Disease and MS. I am borderline T2 Diabetic, but maintaining very well. My fitness goals are to slowly increase the weights/sets/reps I am doing now. I have went from 10-20 minutes at the gym (1 time a week) to 6 days a week and approx. 45-60 minutes per workout. I'm loving it.
WRITING GOALS:
My writing goals are to actually get past the first page. I'm writing a very tough book, and I really need to turn the self-editor off. I love the delete button too much.

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE:
I want to learn how to ignore the delete button. One of my writerly friends has wordmonger sessions. I need to do that. What is wordmongering? It's typing just to type and reaching a specific amount of words. I get too distracted by voice, format etc.

WRITING PREFERENCES:
I write true life events.
Psychology/Theology can play a role in such events.
I love to read Spy/Mystery/Biochemical terrorism etc

WHAT I WANT TO DO WITH THE FIT TO WRITE TEAM:
I want to learn more than fitness goals. I want to learn writing goals as well. I feel that this group is a 'like-minded' group.

You get what you put into your goals. If you aren't happy with what you get; change what you are doing..

WEIGHT GOALS:
To lose @20 pounds, then maintain

NUTRITION GOALS:
To follow a balanced plan that encourages healthy choices while allowing for “treats!” Moderation is my goal. Sometimes that means following one of WW’s point systems, other times it means tracking at SP, and still other times it means simply listening to my body and trying to eat in a way that makes me feel good over time.

FITNESS GOALS:
Balance is key for me now. I’ll be 46 next week, and I just can’t handle the high intensity, hard core stuff as well any more. I love to work out at home, and my current favorite instructor is Jessica Smith. Tomorrow I’ll finish Phase 1 of her “Walk Strong” program, which is a balanced combination of cardio, strength, recovery, and flexibility workouts. I’m planning to do Phase 2 & 3 (which are each 6-week programs), then I’ll treat myself to her newest set, Walk Strong 3, which is an 8-week program.

WRITING GOALS:
Full confession: I’m actually not a writer. I love good literature, and I did want to be a writer when I was young. Then I fell in love with the piano and music became my primary passion. I do still enjoy writing, but with your permission I’ll adapt some of the questions below to practicing. I’m a full-time piano teacher, and I find it very difficult to make time for my own personal practice on a consistent basis.

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE:
For me, PRACTICING habits I have/want to have:
To be at my best, I’d need to practice about 4 hours a day, as I did throughout high school and college, but that isn’t going to happen right now. I typically practice well when I have an upcoming concert, then slack off in between performances. I’d like to consistently practice 30-60 minutes a day.

WRITING PREFERENCES:
Practicing Preferences:
I prefer to practice in the late morning, after my workout but before I start teaching for the day.

WHAT I WANT TO DO WITH THE FIT TO WRITE TEAM:
I’d love to be part of a small group of intelligent, actively creative people who are also striving to intentionally incorporate their art into their busy lives!

WEIGHT GOALS:
I've been mostly skating on this one for the past year, so I want to refocus on losing the last 30 pounds I want to get rid of, though at this point I'd even take 10 :P

NUTRITION GOALS:
Switching to whole foods and less junk. This will mean still trying to cook for myself, I expect (which I have sadly not accomplished since my first intro), which I hate. I need to find a way to get over that.

FITNESS GOALS:
I don't really have one of these at the moment. I think I'll work on getting 10 minutes of specific activity (that is, above and beyond what I'd do normally).

WRITING GOALS:

I write short stories to novellas. Now and again I hit novel length, but it's not my primary length.
I write supernatural, horror, and fantasy.

Accountability. I'm not good at holding myself to a deadline. It do better if other people know I've set it :D Accountability buddies are golden, and this is a great group for that :) Checking in with other writers is also, I find, a good way to keep enthusiasm going.

WEIGHT GOALS:
I have 50 lbs I would like to loose however long it takes!

NUTRITION GOALS:
Staying withing my recommended limits on my nutrition tracker.
Getting in 4-5 servings of fruit and veggies a day. Finding a balance of carbs and protein as I am pre-diabetic.

FITNESS GOALS:
I walk the dog daily at least one mile. I go to yoga at least 2 times per week. I am working with a trainer @ my gym 3 times a week for now. I need to build more strength training into my regime. I meditate daily to maintain my mental fitness.

WRITING GOALS:
I have a been working on a book for several years, more seriously in the past couple. I want to be more consistent in writing at least a couple of days per week.

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE:
While daily is optimal, it is not realistic so 2-3 days per week for even 30 minutes would be great. I want to respect my free/stream of consciousness writing as "real" writing, as it is food for further writing!

WRITING PREFERENCES:
I am writing non-fiction, educational book - based on over 30 years of diary entries (not including them all, just selecting themes). Working title "The Journey of Faith Through Depression"

WHAT I WANT TO DO WITH THE FIT TO WRITE TEAM:
I want the accountability when I check in daily to be sure I write at least 2 times per week.

SPARKPEOPLE EXPERIENCE:
I would say I am pretty experienced, over 5 years, off and on and trying to be more on. There is always more to learn and I know from previous experiences team members can be supportive in my endeavors.

WEIGHT GOALS:
Goal weight is 160-180 but I a recovering from disordered eating and focusing on getting my mental health right first.

NUTRITION GOALS:
Portion control, cooking more meals at home, making better choices if I eat out/on the go

FITNESS GOALS:
I have a workout routine I like and I have a membership to Planet Fitness right around the corner. I just need to overcome my social anxiety and actually go.

WRITING GOALS:
Improve my academic and media writing. My current journalism/writing blog is mostly just news aggregation and silly memes. I eventually want to build up my own brand and have my own website similar to HuffPo except better. In more concrete terms:
- Network within the journalism industry
- Journal (nearly) every night
- Writing a piece of flash fiction once a week
- Write an original piece or reflect on a news story that caught my eye once a week
- Work on a therapeutic autobiography

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE:
I Have: I post regularly whatever is in my head on my personal tumblr.
Want to have:
- Post more original content on my journalism blog regularly
- Journal nightly

WRITING PREFERENCES:
I tend to write in bursts. For academic papers I find that free writing, letting it sit overnight, and looking it over again works well. I usually freewrite and then go back and edit/proofread.

WHAT I WANT TO DO WITH THE FIT TO WRITE TEAM:
Get help with improving my academic writing. I am very interested in communication theory and how the Internet has changed how we communicate and I would love to write academic papers about that and also horror films. I have a tendency to change my tone so any tips and advice or offers to proofread/help edit papers would be great.
I also hope to network with other journalists/aspiring journalists/people in the communications field.

WEIGHT GOALS:
I need to lose like 100 pounds.

NUTRITION GOALS:
25g fiber per day
5+ fruits and veggies per day
Less than 5 tsp sugar per day

FITNESS GOALS:
I'm currently challenging myself to walk 15 minutes minimum every day. With at least 3 days a week of 30+ minutes of aerobic exercise.
I would also like to add in a 10 minute weight training video every day.
And eventually a 10 minute stretching/yoga video every day as well.

WRITING GOALS:
3-5 non-fiction books published in the next 5 years
1-3 fiction books published in the next 5 years
Write EVERY day.

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE:
I currently write in a journal (private) 2-5 times a day.
I try to write fiction every night for a minimum of 5 minutes.
I write non-fiction during the day.

WRITING PREFERENCES:
Non-fiction: web development, HTML, CSS, RWD, I'd like to move into programming as well
Fiction: urban fantasy, science fiction


WHAT I WANT TO DO WITH THE FIT TO WRITE TEAM:
I want to chat with other writers about goals and writing and the challenges of getting and staying (!!!) fit while doing a sedentary job.

I sometimes want to chat about the challenges of weight loss, but I often find that to be almost boring to talk about. Especially when it's not working for me. :-)

Ironically I'm feeling challenged by doing SparkPeople because I'm really starting to enjoy walking, and that is taking away time that I used to spend writing. On the other hand, I now write a lot more than I used to because I feel better and am happier. So...

I weighed 116.8 kg one week ago. Am down to 112.9 now. Aiming for 80 kg until next june when i turn 50.

for my recent manuscript (memoir) i aim to be as truthful as possible. which means letting readers know about all the messy and difficult aspects of me as well. Also i don't want to describe myself as a victim. gratefulness for what i had and have is important for me.

getting published. i have had good feedback from two editors i know and hope i can make it happen.

I am working on my first book. its first part is a memoir, the second part is describing ways to live well with chronic illness. (self-help). Its meant to be to be a kind of manual for people who suffer from chronic illness as well as helping doctors and other professionals to understand their clients better. This july im doing NANO Camp revising the first draft i created during NANOWRIMO 15. Like this resource as it helps me stay accountable.

Like to read mostly non fiction and memoirs.

WEIGHT GOALS:
Sub 200. I started at 311, and my ideal weight is somewhere around 190. Under 200 would be terrific.

NUTRITION GOALS:
I don't track my food. I try to eat sensibly, in moderation. Limit fast food and sweets.Lots of water every day. That's it. It's been good for 80+ pounds so far.

FITNESS GOALS:
I enjoy outdoor activities, like hiking, biking, and diving. To get the most out of that, I'd like to increase my core strength and stamina. To that end, 30 minutes of biking/walking a day, and strength training at least 3 days a week. I'd like to find a good RKC Kettleball instructor in the area.

WRITING GOALS:
Too many to count. I have a LOT of online published works with a huge following and several stories with over a million views. For now, and as part of Camp NaNo, I'm working on completing three of my most popular unfinished works so my fans will leave me alone, and I can work on my other stuff guilt free.

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE:
Write every day. At least 2,000 words. That's a pretty easy goal since on my good days I can reach 15,000 or more.

WRITING PREFERENCES:
I write adult romance, adventure, fantasy and some non-fiction.

Right now, I'm primarily trying to get back on track. I've had some recent emotional set-backs which have de-railed me. Yes, I know it's an excuse but there it is. I've gained 8 pounds of the nearly 20 I lost and I'm going into Christmas! Yikes!

FITNESS GOALS:
I work out but need to add some steady two-a-days in order to really make any progress. I started strength training a few months ago and I'm happy to say that I have stuck to it. My goals there are to up my reps.

WRITING GOALS:
Re-write and polish my screenplay in 2016 for submission to the 2017 Nicholl Fellowship contest.

- I don't blog anymore. Back when I had a boring corporate job, I used to blog about cheese. Nowadays I juggle 3 kids and write for cash.

WEIGHT GOALS:
- Lose 33 very stubborn pounds. (I know it doesn't seem like much but I'm only 5'1" so it's a lot to haul around.)

NUTRITION GOALS:
- Eat nice food.
- Eat breakfast and lunch.
(I have a tendency to skip meals or provide yucky things for myself like freezer burnt fishsticks that the kids won't eat. Why am I such a jerk to myself? Seriously, if I worked for me, I would have stormed off the job ages ago and probably called the cops with charges of slavery-like conditions.)

FITNESS GOALS:
- Complete the 30 day bodyweight strength training challenge
- Complete the Hero's Journey 2.0
- Complete a couch to 5k program (I'm stalled out very close to the end)
- Run a timed 5k in real life.

WRITING GOALS:
- Stop procrastinating on my paying gigs and rushing to complete them at the 11th hour.
- Write a kind email daily (sort of like a shareable gratitude journal)

- Currently all I ask of myself is to write everyday. Once that's established, I'll put a word count on it. And once that gets to be a habit? I'll nudge that word count a bit higher.

Lose about 7 additional pounds and maintain.

NUTRITION GOALS:
Eat more fruit & vegetables. Pay attention to what I'm eating. Eat a LOT less sugar.

FITNESS GOALS:
Manage my arthritis (ankylosing spondylitis), headaches/migraines, pinched nerve, and other ongoing issues. Though I'm young (30 in November) I've had AS symptoms for three years as of the day before my birthday this year. I have to be especially careful in my actions, which is difficult for me. I used to love to run. I recently tried to work up to running again, but it was a poor decision. I want to explore more activities that help me stay fit without aggravating my AS or pinched nerve. I plan to have kids in the next few years (if possible) and would like to be in great shape prior to becoming pregnant.

I have a FitBit and my current goal is 9,000 steps per day. I began at a 6,000 step goal, which I incremented by 500 steps each time that I achieved my goal for seven consecutive days. I've been stuck on 9,000 for awhile because of health issues and work, but I'm hoping this week is the week I increment.

EDIT: I still haven't increased past 9,000 steps per day. This still needs a lot of work.

WRITING GOALS:
Complete first draft of first fantasy novel by end of November
EDIT: Completed! Onto editing now (after staying away from it for a couple of weeks).

I have nearly 80,000 of the 120,000 words of my first draft of my first novel. I give myself plenty of room to get things out so that I can cut out the unnecessary 20,000 or so words during editing.
I'm interested in traditional publishing and will be seeking an agent.

WHAT I WANT TO DO WITH THE FIT TO WRITE TEAM:
I am interested in finding others (within fantasy genre or not) interested in critique/feedback groups.
I am extremely organized in my writing, using Scrivener along with a few spreadsheets of my own making to maintain my novel, novel components (characters, locations, notes, ideas, etc.) as well as my writing schedule. I'm extremely goal- and achievement-oriented, so I created a system to track my words per day, week, and month. I've significantly increased my word count since beginning this system two months ago, and am open to sharing with others who have similar motivations.
I want to learn more about other writers' habits, projects, thought-processes, and general organization.
I want to meet other writers and network, share statuses, etc.

EDIT: I'm updating my goals and statuses. It's amazing what can be accomplished in such a short amount of time!

Stephanie (waste2waist). I choose my username because I have wasted the body I have been given and most of the food I have eaten has been wasted by being turned into fat or passing through my body, instead of giving my body the fuel and nutrition it needs, building muscles etc. I have also never had a visible waist, as I have had a tire of fat around that area.

I don't have one at the moment, I find that I kept posting things that were too personal and should have been kept private. Once I have figured out how to keep a good balance, I will probably start a few blogs again. I am thinking about publishing books under different alias- does anyone here do that?

WEIGHT GOALS:
Lose up to 99lbs from where I am now (I'm not sure of my actual goal weight as I have a disordered body image and relationship with food)

NUTRITION GOALS:
Eat things I like, eat to my macros, eat 3 vegetables and 2 serves of fruit a day, eat lots of protein, have healthy portion sizes (be stingy at meal times, but generous inbetween when I am eating salad and soup), shrink the size of my stomach so I don't want to eat as much, drink 14 cups of water a day, don't consume caffiene unless I am tired enough to want to crawl back into bed.

FITNESS GOALS:
Get fit enough that I actually enjoy exercise. Find a way to enjoy walking. Make several friends who love exercising or do it regulary to lose weight. Start playing basketball, badminton/squash/tennis and cricket. Start swimming 1-2x

I write novels, mostly fantasy and scifi and other forms of spec-fic. I tend toward YA and NA, but I want to branch out beyond that.

WEIGHT GOALS:
I have 50 lbs I would like to loose however long it takes!

NUTRITION GOALS:
Staying withing my recommended limits on my nutrition tracker.
Getting in 4-5 servings of fruit and veggies a day. Finding a balance of carbs and protein as I am pre-diabetic.

FITNESS GOALS:
I walk the dog daily at least one mile. I go to yoga at least 2 times per week. I am working with a trainer @ my gym 3 times a week for now. I need to build more strength training into my regime. I meditate daily to maintain my mental fitness.

WRITING GOALS:
I have a been working on a book for several years, more seriously in the past couple. I want to be more consistent in writing at least a couple of days per week.

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE:
While daily is optimal, it is not realistic so 2-3 days per week for even 30 minutes would be great. I want to respect my free/stream of consciousness writing as "real" writing, as it is food for further writing!

WRITING PREFERENCES:
I am writing non-fiction, educational book - based on over 30 years of diary entries (not including them all, just selecting themes). Working title "The Journey of Faith Through Depression"

WEIGHT GOALS:
Goal weight is 160-180 but I a recovering from disordered eating and focusing on getting my mental health right first.

NUTRITION GOALS:
Portion control, cooking more meals at home, making better choices if I eat out/on the go

FITNESS GOALS:
I have a workout routine I like and I have a membership to Planet Fitness right around the corner. I just need to overcome my social anxiety and actually go.

WRITING GOALS:
Improve my academic and media writing. My current journalism/writing blog is mostly just news aggregation and silly memes. I eventually want to build up my own brand and have my own website similar to HuffPo except better. In more concrete terms:
- Network within the journalism industry
- Journal (nearly) every night
- Writing a piece of flash fiction once a week
- Write an original piece or reflect on a news story that caught my eye once a week
- Work on a therapeutic autobiography

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE:
I Have: I post regularly whatever is in my head on my personal tumblr.
Want to have:
- Post more original content on my journalism blog regularly
- Journal nightly

WRITING PREFERENCES:
I tend to write in bursts. For academic papers I find that free writing, letting it sit overnight, and looking it over again works well. I usually freewrite and then go back and edit/proofread.

WHAT I WANT TO DO WITH THE FIT TO WRITE TEAM:
Get help with improving my academic writing. I am very interested in communication theory and how the Internet has changed how we communicate and I would love to write academic papers about that and also horror films. I have a tendency to change my tone so any tips and advice or offers to proofread/help edit papers would be great.
I also hope to network with other journalists/aspiring journalists/people in the communications field.

Staying withing my recommended limits on my nutrition tracker.
Getting in 4-5 servings of fruit and veggies a day.

FITNESS GOALS:
I'm currently challenging myself to walk 15 minutes minimum every day. With at least 3 days a week of 30+ minutes of aerobic exercise.
I would also like to add in a 10 minute weight training video every day.
And eventually a 10 minute stretching/yoga video every day as well.

WRITING GOALS:
3-5 non-fiction books published in the next 5 years
1-3 fiction books published in the next 5 years
Write EVERY day.

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE:
I currently write in a journal (private) 2-5 times a day.
I try to write fiction every night for a minimum of 5 minutes.
I write non-fiction during the day.

WRITING PREFERENCES:

WHAT I WANT TO DO WITH THE FIT TO WRITE TEAM:
I want to chat with other writers about goals and writing and the challenges of getting and staying (!!!) fit while doing a sedentary job.

I sometimes want to chat about the challenges of weight loss, but I often find that to be almost boring to talk about. Especially when it's not working for me. :-)

Ironically I'm feeling challenged by doing SparkPeople because I'm really starting to enjoy walking, and that is taking away time that I used to spend writing. On the other hand, I now write a lot more than I used to because I feel better and am happier. So...

WEIGHT GOALS:
I weighed 116.8 kg one week ago. Am down to 112.9 now. Aiming for 80 kg until next june when i turn 50.

NUTRITION GOALS:
Drinking tons of water. logging in here daily. tracking food and exercise. finding good friends.

FITNESS GOALS:
i just started running again after a 2 year hiatus. i was injured and am taking strong medications as well. also love crossfit and have a box id love to return to as soon as i can. still suck at doing both btw. :)

WRITING GOALS:
for my recent manuscript (memoir) i aim to be as truthful as possible. which means letting readers know about all the messy and difficult aspects of me as well. Also i don't want to describe myself as a victim. gratefulness for what i had and have is important for me.

getting published. i have had good feedback from two editors i know and hope i can make it happen.

i do morning pages or journaling every day. it helps me a lot.


WRITING PREFERENCES:
I am working on my first book. its first part is a memoir, the second part is describing ways to live well with chronic illness. (self-help). Its meant to be to be a kind of manual for people who suffer from chronic illness as well as helping doctors and other professionals to understand their clients better. This july im doing NANO Camp revising the first draft i created during NANOWRIMO 15. Like this resource as it helps me stay accountable.

Like to read mostly non fiction and memoirs.

WEIGHT GOALS:
Sub 200. I started at 311, and my ideal weight is somewhere around 190. Under 200 would be terrific.

NUTRITION GOALS:
I don't track my food. I try to eat sensibly, in moderation. Limit fast food and sweets.Lots of water every day. That's it. It's been good for 80+ pounds so far.

FITNESS GOALS:
I enjoy outdoor activities, like hiking, biking, and diving. To get the most out of that, I'd like to increase my core strength and stamina. To that end, 30 minutes of biking/walking a day, and strength training at least 3 days a week. I'd like to find a good RKC Kettleball instructor in the area.

WRITING GOALS:
Too many to count. I have a LOT of online published works with a huge following and several stories with over a million views. For now, and as part of Camp NaNo, I'm working on completing three of my most popular unfinished works so my fans will leave me alone, and I can work on my other stuff guilt free.

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE:
Write every day. At least 2,000 words. That's a pretty easy goal since on my good days I can reach 15,000 or more.

WRITING PREFERENCES:
I write adult romance, adventure, fantasy and some non-fiction.

I want to get to 160. I want to be happy with my body no matter my size.

NUTRITION GOALS:
Track what I eat and make small healthy choices day by day.

FITNESS GOALS:
Get up the courage to go to the apartment fitness center to use the stationary bike. I also need to work on my ankle physical therapy again because my balance is really bad. I want to get back into the habit of working out, in general.

WRITING GOALS:
I am currently a journalism major and so I want to get better with academic and news writing.

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE:
I want to stick to my schedule that I set up with my news/journalism blog which was to curate news stories a few times a day and other things.

WRITING PREFERENCES:
I'm pretty good at being descriptive and I'm very eloquent with writing. I prefer to write nonfiction but I also like writing fiction, I just have trouble writing anything more than flash fiction or just little scenes that don't really go to anything.

WEIGHT GOALS:
Right now, I'm primarily trying to get back on track. I've had some recent emotional set-backs which have de-railed me. Yes, I know it's an excuse but there it is. I've gained 8 pounds of the nearly 20 I lost and I'm going into Christmas! Yikes!

NUTRITION GOALS:
Pre-plan healthy meals and snacks.

FITNESS GOALS:
I work out but need to add some steady two-a-days in order to really make any progress. I started strength training a few months ago and I'm happy to say that I have stuck to it. My goals there are to up my reps.

WRITING GOALS:
Re-write and polish my screenplay in 2016 for submission to the 2017 Nicholl Fellowship contest.

Write every day, beginning in Jan.


WRITING PREFERENCES:
Screenplays. Currently working on a drama but love horror. I want one day to create a new horror craze based on my own creation as soon as I think of something not a vampire, werewolf, witch, or demon. :)

Earlier this year I ran 5K for the first time. I've slipped a bit since then, but I want to get back to that, and then work on increasing to 10K. I'd also like to rotate in some strength training.

WRITING GOALS:
Finish projects. I'm good at first drafts, terrible at finishing anything.

Write every day.
Get a revision process in place so it doesn't last forever.
Learn to write via dictation.

I write short stories to novellas. Now and again I hit novel length, but it's not my primary length.

- I don't blog anymore. Back when I had a boring corporate job, I used to blog about cheese. Nowadays I juggle 3 kids and write for cash.

WEIGHT GOALS:
- Lose 33 very stubborn pounds. (I know it doesn't seem like much but I'm only 5'1" so it's a lot to haul around.)

NUTRITION GOALS:
- Eat nice food.
- Eat breakfast and lunch.
(I have a tendency to skip meals or provide yucky things for myself like freezer burnt fishsticks that the kids won't eat. Why am I such a jerk to myself? Seriously, if I worked for me, I would have stormed off the job ages ago and probably called the cops with charges of slavery-like conditions.)

FITNESS GOALS:
- Complete the 30 day bodyweight strength training challenge
- Complete the Hero's Journey 2.0
- Complete a couch to 5k program (I'm stalled out very close to the end)
- Run a timed 5k in real life.

WRITING GOALS:
- Stop procrastinating on my paying gigs and rushing to complete them at the 11th hour.
- Write a kind email daily (sort of like a shareable gratitude journal)

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE:
- Currently all I ask of myself is to write everyday. Once that's established, I'll put a word count on it. And once that gets to be a habit? I'll nudge that word count a bit higher.

WRITING PREFERENCES:

WEIGHT GOALS:
Lose about 7 additional pounds and maintain.

NUTRITION GOALS:
Eat more fruit & vegetables. Pay attention to what I'm eating. Eat a LOT less sugar.

FITNESS GOALS:
Manage my arthritis (ankylosing spondylitis), headaches/migraines, pinched nerve, and other ongoing issues. Though I'm young (30 in November) I've had AS symptoms for three years as of the day before my birthday this year. I have to be especially careful in my actions, which is difficult for me. I used to love to run. I recently tried to work up to running again, but it was a poor decision. I want to explore more activities that help me stay fit without aggravating my AS or pinched nerve. I plan to have kids in the next few years (if possible) and would like to be in great shape prior to becoming pregnant.

I have a FitBit and my current goal is 9,000 steps per day. I began at a 6,000 step goal, which I incremented by 500 steps each time that I achieved my goal for seven consecutive days. I've been stuck on 9,000 for awhile because of health issues and work, but I'm hoping this week is the week I increment.

EDIT: I still haven't increased past 9,000 steps per day. This still needs a lot of work.

WRITING GOALS:
Complete first draft of first fantasy novel by end of November
EDIT: Completed! Onto editing now (after staying away from it for a couple of weeks).

Edit novel and submit to agents/publishers

Begin to network with other writers

WRITING PREFERENCES:
I prefer full-length (or extra long) novels, especially series
I write fantasy primarily, but am interested in exploring sci-fi and other genres
I have nearly 80,000 of the 120,000 words of my first draft of my first novel. I give myself plenty of room to get things out so that I can cut out the unnecessary 20,000 or so words during editing.
I'm interested in traditional publishing and will be seeking an agent.

WHAT I WANT TO DO WITH THE FIT TO WRITE TEAM:
I am interested in finding others (within fantasy genre or not) interested in critique/feedback groups.
I am extremely organized in my writing, using Scrivener along with a few spreadsheets of my own making to maintain my novel, novel components (characters, locations, notes, ideas, etc.) as well as my writing schedule. I'm extremely goal- and achievement-oriented, so I created a system to track my words per day, week, and month. I've significantly increased my word count since beginning this system two months ago, and am open to sharing with others who have similar motivations.
I want to learn more about other writers' habits, projects, thought-processes, and general organization.
I want to meet other writers and network, share statuses, etc.

EDIT: I'm updating my goals and statuses. It's amazing what can be accomplished in such a short amount of time!

Stephanie (waste2waist). I choose my username because I have wasted the body I have been given and most of the food I have eaten has been wasted by being turned into fat or passing through my body, instead of giving my body the fuel and nutrition it needs, building muscles etc. I have also never had a visible waist, as I have had a tire of fat around that area.

I don't have one at the moment, I find that I kept posting things that were too personal and should have been kept private. Once I have figured out how to keep a good balance, I will probably start a few blogs again. I am thinking about publishing books under different alias- does anyone here do that?

WEIGHT GOALS:
Lose up to 99lbs from where I am now (I'm not sure of my actual goal weight as I have a disordered body image and relationship with food)

NUTRITION GOALS:
Eat things I like, eat to my macros, eat 3 vegetables and 2 serves of fruit a day, eat lots of protein, have healthy portion sizes (be stingy at meal times, but generous inbetween when I am eating salad and soup), shrink the size of my stomach so I don't want to eat as much, drink 14 cups of water a day, don't consume caffiene unless I am tired enough to want to crawl back into bed.

FITNESS GOALS:
Get fit enough that I actually enjoy exercise. Find a way to enjoy walking. Make several friends who love exercising or do it regulary to lose weight. Start playing basketball, badminton/squash/tennis and cricket. Start swimming 1-2x a week. Be able to do 20 pull-ups. Be able to run 10kms.

WRITING PREFERENCES:
I like to share advice, share my experiences and come up with ideas. I have ideas for fiction novels but I am horrible at actually writing those sorts of things. I came up with an exciting book with lots of twists and turns, many layers that all of my friends wanted me to read, my family was impressed by and may have been offered a publishing deal when I was mentally stable enough to write it but I couldn't piece the words together.

I don't want to focus on weight anymore, trying for size acceptance.

NUTRITION GOALS:
Eat healthy and enough, don't binge.

FITNESS GOALS:
Every day 15 min of strength training, every day cardio training in various forms (except running), every day 15 minutes of meditation and tai chi.

WRITING GOALS:
I'm a ghost writer, usually writing 'life novels', autobiographies for the non-famous.

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE:
Write a little bit for myself every day in a diary.

WRITING PREFERENCES:
I'm good at writing non-fiction, but actually I like to write fiction in my spare time. By the way, I write in my native speech, which is Dutch.

FITNESS GOALS:
I have Dystonia. Dystonia is akin to Parkinson's Disease and MS. I am borderline T2 Diabetic, but maintaining very well. My fitness goals are to slowly increase the weights/sets/reps I am doing now. I have went from 10-20 minutes at the gym (1 time a week) to 6 days a week and approx. 45-60 minutes per workout. I'm loving it.
WRITING GOALS:
My writing goals are to actually get past the first page. I'm writing a very tough book, and I really need to turn the self-editor off. I love the delete button too much.

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE:
I want to learn how to ignore the delete button. One of my writerly friends has wordmonger sessions. I need to do that. What is wordmongering? It's typing just to type and reaching a specific amount of words. I get too distracted by voice, format etc.

WRITING PREFERENCES:
I write true life events.
Psychology/Theology can play a role in such events.
I love to read Spy/Mystery/Biochemical terrorism etc

WEIGHT GOALS: It would be nice to be down to 140. Don't have a goal date for that weight but I would like to be down to 180/170 by October for my cousins Wedding.

NUTRITION GOALS: Give up junk foods and pop (at home). Want to eat as clean as possible. Will have some challenges since I live with 2 other people.

FITNESS GOALS: Since I am a caregiver, to my grandma, the only time I have for the gym is in the mornings. Get up at 430am and exercise from 5 to 6. I still want to walk around the neighborhood and do some videos on here. I really just want to stay as active as possible.

WRITING GOALS: The past 2 years has been so stressful here that I haven't done any writing or even much reading. As of now my goal is to really just find time to look over all my notes from the past 7 years; my fantasy (both adult and children), a few mysteries, and my shorts.

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE: I want to write for at least 2 hours everyday. My aunt also writes so I would like to have either Saturday or Sunday be writing day.

WRITING PREFERENCES: I read Horror, Mystery, and YA Fantasy. This is also what I enjoy writing. Would love to have a book of scary shorts like what I use to read when I was little.

WEIGHT GOALS: My goal is to lose 50 total pounds by the end of August if possible, though it might take a little longer.

NUTRITION GOALS: I am trying to add in more whole foods and to reduce the amount of processed foods that I eat.

FITNESS GOALS: Right now my goal is to be active nearly every day, at least by walking/jogging. I've just completed physical therapy for a rotator cuff injury and have been given the okay to exercise as long as it doesn't cause pain. I hope to add upper and lower body strength training shortly..

WRITING GOALS: I'm a freelance writer for my job. My goal is to not only write every day, but to meet a certain article quota because I've been letting it slide a lot lately. I'd like to get back on track for a better paycheck. I'd also like to get back to my poetry at least a couple of times a week. I'm overdue to put out another book and would like to start on that soon.

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE: I write nearly every day, so that's a good habit. I hope to write more every day instead of slacking off.

WEIGHT GOALS: I have a great deal of weight to lose - not comfortable saying exactly how much. Suffice it to note that it will take more than a year, assuming a modest rate of loss.

NUTRITION GOALS: My own mother was serious about nutrition and followed the limited guidelines that were available at the time. She started teaching me to choose the freshest things at the grocery store when I was 5. I have followed in her footsteps ever since.

FITNESS GOALS: I have severe bunions on both feet, and will have surgery on one of them early in April. Walking is difficult on good days, which has hampered my ability to exercise except sitting down. I'm looking forward to being able to move better, but it will be about four to five months before I'll be able to sustain a fitness program. Right now, my fitness goal is to lose five pounds before the first surgery.

WRITING GOALS: Write for 10 minutes a day. Write *anything* for 10 minutes a day.

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE: Like so many of my fellow writers, I have found Julia Cameron's morning pages to be a valuable conduit into my writerly self. Ten minutes a day on morning pages is a habit I've had in the past and want to re-establish.

WRITING PREFERENCES: While I *think* I want to write fiction, it's not fiction that flows from my pen. It's 50/50 technical how-to docs for the novice, and reflections on current events, especially politics.

WHAT I WANT TO DO WITH THE FIT TO WRITE TEAM: I would like to be in communication with other writers and to learn from them more about their inner process. I think I don't trust mine enough, but I'm quite willing to share it, as it evolves.

WEIGHT GOALS:
I'd like to lose 30 pounds this year and maintain.

NUTRITION GOALS:
I'd like to drink more water, eat more veggies, but I don't like logging what I eat. I'd also like to participate in the Whole30 program this year.

FITNESS GOALS:
I want to get stronger, mainly. And I want to (bike) ride at least 40 miles for an annual fundraiser ride I do in June - I'd previously done the 20 route 2x and then, last year, the 40. There's also a 60 miler to choose from, but I don't expect to do that this year. Still, I'm excited to be DOING fitness on a regular basis, finally.

WRITING GOALS:
To write and publish a book about a personal experience I had that also affected many women in my town.

Nope, dont have one. I like journaling, but never got into blogging, even for travel.

WEIGHT GOALS:
Im more about fitness than weight numbers.

NUTRITION GOALS:
Ive always had trouble here. I admit that my eating habit resemble those of a small child and havent improved much with age. My goals are to expand my vegetable intake, add more color to my diet, and to cook more at home.

FITNESS GOALS:
Ive had some trouble restraining my enthusiasm as well as keeping a regular workout schedule, particularly when my schedule gets busier. Id like to find a good fitness routine that I can maintain in times of stress and to complete at least one athletic event this year. The marathon is on my bucket list.

WRITING GOALS:
I havent been able to do much writing outside of my work, so Id like to be able to write at least weekly on a project I enjoy, to exercise my creativity beyond the limits of scientific articles. Id love to actually complete NaNoWriMo.

Several: mumsananarchist.livejournal.com, where I generally grouse about stuff and make fun of things, although occasionally get serious, and karenalbeck.com, which, in theory, is my professional website - I'm working on it. I have a Twitter at Karen Albeck @mumsintheattic and a Pinterest under Karen Albeck - it's mostly about fingernails and furniture, though.

WEIGHT GOALS:
I'd like to lose about 50 pounds. I never really had a weight problem before, and was always really active - I was one of those people who could pretty much eat and drink what they wanted without ever being more than maybe 5-10 pounds over, and that would come off easily. Then that fifty...crept on slowly and virtually unnoticed over a few years in a really difficult time in my life. I'm still healthy and strong, but I'd definitely like to dump these extra pounds, mostly for health rather than appearance (although that'd be nice, too.)

NUTRITION GOALS:
I'm terrible at tracking - it makes me over-focus, maybe obsess, on food when what I really want to do is just live my life. I don't eat much meat - mostly vegetarian, and I'm not overly fussy. I cook from scratch and get my vegetables from the CSA. I'd like to drink more water and be sure to get enough protein.

FITNESS GOALS:
In the summer I work as a landscaper, and that keeps me in pretty good shape. However, the winter...I just fall apart. I'd like to get a schedule for myself that I'd actually adhere to - a mix of cardio, strength training (I like to lift heavy) and yoga.

WRITING GOALS:
Ugh. Where to start. I've self-published a couple books that have done pretty well, but one I want to rewrite altogether (expand, plus change the tone - I sound so pedantic!) and the other is part one of four - the other three parts are 90% done, but I can't seem to get through the fiddling around that they need to get out there. I have a couple novels and a non-fiction or two filing up all the back burners - I plug away at them from time to time. I guess my main goal would be to find a way to support myself financially from my writing - and copy editing and proofing if necessary. I've free-lanced articles in the past for various sources, and that was fun. I'd happily do that again.

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE:
Every day. Just that - every day.

WRITING PREFERENCES:
Oh hell, I'll write about anything from football to Universal Truths. I think I do my best work in essay form.

WHAT I WANT TO DO WITH THE FIT TO WRITE TEAM:
I'm a professional writer with problems - both with writing and with fitness. I'd like a forum where we can feel free to gripe and whine (hey, it has to go somewhere) and not only back one another up with cheerleading, but with useful tips - sources, links, etc that address the real problems writers have with agents (or lack of same), outlets, technical problems with writing and/or self-publishing and the like. As to the fitness part, I'd love to know how other people schedule their writing and their fitness programs into their lives without having all the other spinning plates come crashing down. I'd be happy to help anyone I can in any way that I can, although I'm probably better at straight up problem solving than at general woo-hoo-ing.

I'm not even good at keeping up with the one on SP. I had one once. Somewhere.

WEIGHT GOALS:
I'm trying to maintain goal weight. Since my late 30's, early 40's I've been in a pattern of gain 10lbs in winter, lose it over the spring, get back to where I should in summer to early fall, then back to gaining again. In 2012 it wasn't 10 pounds anymore, it was 22 and it was taking me longer to lose the 10+ with each year.

NUTRITION GOALS:
I do best when I'm logging all my food, not just in terms of calories, but overall balance.

FITNESS GOALS:
10 minutes at least, but hitting the gym 3x/week striving for 30 minutes of cardio a day.

WRITING GOALS:
I'm all over the place with my writing goals. I honestly do want to be published someday, but the rejections I've gotten so far are valid. Every year my family has a Halloween party and I write a short story (presented as a book). This year I got some amazing feedback. I don't know that it is able to become a full novel or not, but I really want to focus working on this one and see about self-publishing this puppy. I'll need to do some serious research to make this story hold up, so research will be part of the goal too.

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE:
I do NaNoWriMo every year since the first stab at it. 2008? Maybe 2009. I usually put aside writing for a bit after that. This year, I'm only giving myself the rest of the month off. Writing daily will be tough, particularly with some surgery in my future. First 2 days post-op will be in ICU. Won't be writing then. Maybe not the first few days when I'm home either. Trying to be strict by writing often and regularly, but extending some compassion to myself as well (I suck at that on every level).

WRITING PREFERENCES:
Paranormal romance has always been my fall back. I'm happy there with the people that live in that alternative reality. I also write some psychological "stuff" - is the main character really seeing ghosts or is she batty? - that sort of stuff. This year was my first horror story and quite frankly, I gave myself nightmares. Best feedback ever though.


WHAT I WANT TO DO WITH THE FIT TO WRITE TEAM:
I really want to find a place that understands both being fit and writing take effort. Sometimes I need encouragement to carve out time for one or the other. I'd like a good balance of those two things. By the same token, I would like to offer that encouragement to others.

I don't have one. It's something I am thinking about.

WEIGHT GOALS:
I plan to lose at least 40 more pounds. I deal with quite a few autoimmune disorders and get relief with regular exercise and a healthy diet.

NUTRITION GOALS:
I am doing a good job with tracking every day and staying within my calorie limits. I am now focusing on adding more veggies and a little more protein. I am keeping it very simple.

FITNESS GOALS:
My goal is to exercise at least 10 minutes every day. This reduces my overall pain greatly and gives me a lot more energy.

WRITING GOALS:
I write history and would like to try fiction. My goal is to finish my first book and be published. I used to write poetry and may like to try my hand at that again.

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE:
I do research just about every day. I have been struggling with writing every day. I find myself getting lost in the research, which I love. I would like a place to be accountable and I am planning to start with a small, simple goal: to write for 15 minutes every day. I hope that, like exercise, with regular concrete practice, the habit will grow.

WRITING PREFERENCES:
I love good history - to tell a good story that happens to be true. Most of my own research focuses on women's history - I am fascinated by different times, places, and lives.

WHAT I WANT TO DO WITH THE FIT TO WRITE TEAM:
I actually like small teams. I also like concrete goals. One of the best teams I have participated in is the 10 minute exercise challenge team, with concrete goals and some active folks. I enjoy supporting and encouraging others. I appreciate support and suggestions from others. I basically want a place to be accountable with my writing goals and to support others to reach theirs.

Don't have one, tried to blog before, but lack the consistency, lol

WEIGHT GOALS:
Lose about 170 more lbs. I'd love to hit my goal by my 30th birthday on 6/26/15, but I'll be happy to be anywhere close! I've lost 65 lbs since the beginning of the year, all but 15 of it since the beginning of September.

NUTRITION GOALS:
Keep paying very close attention to my portion size, and continue making my meals the same volume.

FITNESS GOALS:
Exercise at least 15 minutes every day.

WRITING GOALS:
Keep writing my first novel and see it through completion. Then edit, edit, edit and pursue publishing. I've had this dream since I was a kid to write a book, and get it published. My plot finally came to me this year, and something tells me the world wants to hear this story. And yes, I know I may sound a little crazy, lol! :)

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE:
I am currently writing everyday. I'm participating in NaNoWriMo, so the daily goal helps keep me going, giving me something to strive for. I would also like to start journaling again.

WRITING PREFERENCES:
I like to write sappy love stories. I've always been a hopeless romantic, so I can't really imagine writing anything else. My current story is definitely that, with portions of it based on real life and real feelings I've had (kind of scary at times!).

I do want to pursue traditional publishing when I finish. I have no idea what I'm doing in that regard though!

WHAT I WANT TO DO WITH THE FIT TO WRITE TEAM:
I love to help and encourage others, so I'd like to do that here. I'll be everyone's cheerleader! I also look forward to being a part of a community where I can come for honest feedback and support.

WEIGHT GOALS:
Lose about 30 - 40 lbs in 2014 & 2015, then reevaluate and maintain.

NUTRITION GOALS:
More "freggies" with an eventual goal of 5-7 per day; more higher quality / whole foods, which means I don't want to avoid anything in particular but do want to fuel with real food, made with traditional methods. (Limit chemicals and additives.)

FITNESS GOALS:
LOTS more than I do now. I recently got a FitBit and I love it. I want to increase my daily step goal over time to exceed the baseline recommendation of 10,000 steps a day. Eventually, I'd like to do daily exercise consisting of resistance / yoga AND/OR walking / running. I love to do calm-water kayaking. I'd like to possibly get into hiking, Zumba and racquetball.

WRITING GOALS:
Maintain and grow my professional blog. (Goal100,000+ hits / 600 subscribers in 2014.)
Continue daily gratitudes blogging here at SP.
Finish a novel in 2014,
Write another novel in 2015 ...
... and get at least one of them into submission to agents / publishers.
Start entering an occasional writing contest.
Continue writing a novel per year (or more.)

WRITING HABITS I HAVE / WANT TO HAVE:
Writing EVERY day would be ideal, but I'd settle for five days a week.
I'd like to never skip more that ONE day between writing sessions.
I check in with my current project every day just as if I were having an affair with it. (I call it my Writer Rendezvous, because I'm goofy like that.)
I'd like to go for at least one long, contemplative walk a week.
I'd like to take a weekly "Artist Date" (as recommended in The Artist's Way.)
I'd like to to shorten the length of time it takes to write a blog post.

WRITING PREFERENCES:
I prefer to write long-form fiction; novels rather than shorts.
I write supernatural horror, with stories about ghosts and witches being particular favorites.
I have one novel nearly done, and another started. There are snippets of others around here too.
I'm interested in traditional publishing and will be seeking an agent.

WHAT I WANT TO DO WITH THE FIT TO WRITE TEAM:
I am the founder of Fit to Write.
I'm freakishly fond of organization and clarity, and I will likely bring as much of that as you'll all tolerate to the team.
I'm most interested in creating and accepting goals, challenges and min-challenges.
I prefer to stay out of chatty threads and game threads.
