Hi everyone I just picked up the "Leslie Sansone Walk at Home 5 mile fat burning walk"
It has mile markers to you can choose how many miles you want to walk.. they feed smoothly into each other.. I walked 3 miles looking for my cool down then I decided to move ahead to the 5th mile and there I found it... I ended up walking 4 miles.. woo hoo... and boy am I tired.. I would suggest that if you get this DVD and only want to walk a few miles to start at 4mile that way you walk the 4th and 5th mile and get your cool down.. It also includes jogging the jogging is optional of course but it sure boosts the workout... its only for 2 minutes so its doable.
I started with walk away the pounds and I needed something extra and boy did I find it.. I can see where I could do the whole 5 miles in a week or two maybe even less..the whole DVD is only 65 minutes and that includes the cool down and stretch...
Oh yes I got mine at Wal-mart for only 10.00 its well worth the money and I also got a stabilizing ball for 9.00 its for short people like me its for 5'3 and under they had others there for a tad bit more money..
I'm just starting out with the whole exercising thing so the less money I start out spending will save me more when I want to upgrade.

I have just about all her DVD's. I just started getting back to using them everyday. I have found that I really like the WATP Express using the strethie band and the 2,3,&4 fast miles. I have only workout to her new set once and plan to do more often in the near future. I really love her DVD's. I know that when I pop on in that I know I can get a good workout in. Right now I'm struggling to do the ones with the boosted walk/jogging. emoticon

Thanks for all the info regarding Leslie's workouts. I'm glad to know they are available at Walmart for such a reasonable price. I love doing different selections to keep it interesting. I am going to try the 3-mile slim and sleek walk with Pilates. I doubt that I have anything like that, so far.

Hi Spark Ladies! I thought I'd add that my local WalMart has Leslie videos (right beside the weights and next to the sporting goods section) for only $10.00. There are other DVDs besides Leslie's and they're all regularly priced @ $10.

She's really been an inspiration to me.

I think I have told you guys about Leslie's "3 Mile Slim and Sleek Walk With Pilates." So today Nicole Nichols had an article out, 7 Pilates Principles. So I thought, I'm just going to check on Leslie and see how she did. She nailed it, all 7 Pilates principles.

Hi everyone, Thought I'd share what Leslie's I have and which ones I do. Right now I am trying to do a 2-mile 5 or 6 times a week, but some days I put on music or just a timer for some free-form aerobic dance or walking outside. Most days I do Leslie, though.

"Walk Away Your Hips and Thighs" has Leslie working out alone, without the group. It came with "fit cuff" stretchie band thing that tones the lower body, and has a 2-mile power walk and a lower body routine. The walk is pretty vigorous.

"Walk Away the Pounds: 5-Day Fit Walk" has 5 different workouts. They all have anywhere from 3 to 8 other people with her. The first two on it are a 1-mile and a 2-mile that have a group and uses weighted balls. Then there's a 30-minute walk, a kick-boxing 2-mile that is quite easy, really, and a hard 1-mile "Power Mile."

"Walk Away the Pounds Express" I have two DVDs. The first has 1-mile easy walk and the 2-mile brisk walk (which is my favorite - fairly easy.) The other DVD has the 3-mile advanced walk and the 4-mile super challenge. All have a group and use the stretchie band.

I have the "Walk The Walk: Firm Walk" video that has two people with her doing strengthening exercises to Christian music. The thing I don't like about it is that she works one leg a looooong time before switching to the other leg.

I also have 1, 2, and 3-mile "WATP for Abs" which use the belt thing with the stretchies. They each have a group, too.

Anyway, you can get more info about her individual workouts, and see a little video clip of each, if you go to the "Collage Video" website. It's a company that sells only workout videos, and they have tons!

Have fun walking! emoticon emoticon

Boy, do I like the 8th dwarf, Dopier. I just finished for the first time, the first of four DVDs using the Gentle, Brisk, and Super 1 mile walks using the cables. Wow, did I sweat. And, I feel great.

The dopey part is I could not figure out what everyone said about a "red ball" until I watched the DVD. I *am* in reality a diagnosed dyslexic. I guess I think I had not followed a Leslie DVD in 8 or more days. I do not often understand what people are saying or understand directions and it takes a long time to read a book.

Those cables are brilliant. For me the hardest was the multi-movements when doing kick backs and lifting the cables. If you were a fly on the walls you would have died laughing.

I will stick with that DVD for a few weeks until I can do it and then move on the next DVD for a few weeks.

My Dr questions that the tapes actually do a full mile following the tape. Even my Omron pedometer doesn't show it, but it may not be calibrated properly.

I am so happy to have found this Leslie Sansone board. Thank each of you.

You've all got my support.

Love, hugs, forgiveness, acceptance, and ladybugs

Just received my four DVDs and the cables. There was a paperlette for one to write in but there were no list of super foods. Are they on the DVDs? No little red ball came with it either.

I am so glad you like the booster cables. I think they are the perfect addition to Leslie's workout. I even like the Super walk on the mini-walk DVD. If I get up late, I pop that in and get a pretty good workout in just 15 minutes. The flexibility of the set is great.

Take care,
Peggie

PEGGIEA1 - thanks for the QVC tip. I got my set with the booster cables earlier this week in Canada and absolutely love them. I did the 4 mile today. Two miles with boosters and one of the miles with hand wts. I also use a weighted vest quite a bit, when I'm resting my upper arms. I love the booster cables. Get the strength and tone done with the cardio.

I picked up a boxed set of 3 DVDs at Target (including the "30 Minute Walk" and "Muscle One Mile"). The rest I ordered from the Walk At Home website -- one was a fat-burn kit that included 3 DVDs plus hand weights (two 1-lb weights and two 2-lb weights; she uses them on some of her DVDs).

Here's a link for the Walk at Home online store:

Hi, Peggie! "AHA" stands for American Heart Association. One of the DVDs I got has a 1-mile and a 2-mile workout on it -- no weights. It was endorsed by the American Heart Association and apparently were sessions she had on Exercise TV. This video is listed for beginners. It's still tough for me...first time I tried Leslie's "30 Minute Walk" video I lasted for 5 minutes. LOL!

Hi, Sockittome. I'm glad you are on the team. After reading your post, I was wondering what AHA stands for. It is amazing to me how many videos Leslie Sansone has put out. I like her workouts and I like to get new ones so the workouts are new. From your description, it sounds like they are good.

Hello! I'm new to the team...got a few of Leslie Sansone's videos after hearing about them from various people on Spark, and now have 7 of them. Still a newbie at them, however -- only been trying them for a couple of weeks. Got through the 1-mile walk (AHA beginner one with 1-mile and 2-mile walks), plus have done the "Muscle One Mile" video. This morning I tried the AHA 2-mile one -- got through it. Wow. Not pretty but I did it. LOL!

I love Leslie! I now have 3 dvd's and use them at least 4-5 days a week. Can't wait to figure in my schedule for those other 2-3 days. She makes me feel so good about walking and it doesn't feel like work. It goes so fast - even the 4 miles goes fast.

Peggie, I have not done much exercise in the past week. Just walking inside to Leslie, using no equipment. So, since yesterday was so beautiful, I asked Tom if we could take a walk. I would be using my rollator walker. When Tom realized the route I was going to take, he became concerned that I would go into spasms. I wanted to "push my buttons" and see if I could do it. Well, my Omron pedometer said that it was 1.78 miles and over 5,600 steps. It took 45 minutes. When I did the route on the spark people map, it was pretty much on target. I did not go into any spasms. When we got home I took my Valium, as prescribed, Tom made his own supper and I had fruit for dinner. I was extremely stiff.

I rarely get 2,000 steps a day. emoticon

Congratulations, FreeOak1! I am hoping (someday) to become a grandparent...isn't happening yet!

I like your idea of adding soft weights. I think I'll get some of those, too. I keep adding to my equipment, and so far my super-hubby hasn't complained.

When I walk, I often carry light weights, but that is sometimes a nuisance since it ties up my hands. I haven't yet started walking outside this spring yet, but when I do, I want to take a plastic grocery bag to pick up roadside trash. I know it will slow me down a bit, but I thought I'd give it a try.

I am relatively new to this board, but not to SP or Leslie Sansone. My Drs, Surgeons, and Neurosurgeon give SP and LS 3 thumbs up, but I am not allowed to to certain exercises involving the abdomen for the rest of my life. No crunches, etc.

But, to "up the ante" I have added the two soft hand weights to the back of my belt with the bands. When feeling "up to it", I use the weights on the belt. Do any of you belong to the walking club?

I just joined, but having problems logging in. I sent an e-mail and I think I see an e-mail to a website about login. I want to run it through Norton's to be sure it is not a fake.

I love LS's DVDs and have the belt with bands, soft weights for the hands, and the Sash.

Yesterday, we were told we are going to be Great -grandparents for the first time.

It's different for each individual. My husband is 6' 1" tall and his stride is longer than mine. I have to work harder to get a mile because I am 4' 8" short. So I take many more steps.

I have an Omron Pedometer and it has you measure your stride in order to make it more accurate to the individual.

Now, if you want to know how many feet there is in a mile...it's 5,280 feet in a land mile.

We often joke about the times we've climbed to the top of Mt. Washington and the others in the Presidential Range, I brag about how many more steps and more effort I have to put into going to the peaks of each.

During a rain storm, "little river-lets" are formed along the trails. Tom's legs are longer and he can stride across the width of them; whereas, my chubby short legs have to slog into the water, thereby making my hiking boots heavier.

I hope this helps.

I recently got Leslie's new DVD set which comes with the Body Boost Cables and really love them. The workouts are great and I really break a sweat...especially when I do the Super 4 mile. After only a couple of weeks I am seeing results. I love all her workouts, but this set adds strength training.

I have all of her 4 miles...4 fast miles, where the group is close to her and 4 big and strong miles where the class is behind her, this one have the older gentleman is in it. 4 mile super challenge the group is behind her, no men. Her newest series has the walk bands, I am not a fan of them, so I just walk/jog, love the new music. Keep up the great work!

Yes, I have the 3 mile walk with pilates. You are right, the music is great and I love the changed up moves.

Which 4 mile DVD do you have? Is it an older one with the class behind her?

Hi!
I have almost every one of Leslie's DVD's. Has anyone done her new 3 miles with pilates? I really like it, the music is new and fast paced and she has a few new moves in it. My all time favorite is 4 fast miles, which are just that! If you want a great leg workout do the 4 mile super challenge, your legs will be burning after! My go to is walk & jog, a nice fast 2.5 miles. All of her 5 mile walks are great and you feel so wonderful knowing you did 5 miles when you are done! I love seeing how many calories I burned! I hope this info helps! emoticon

Hi, I'm new and have just a quick question?

I have the WATP "beginners" DVD, the 1 mile one, I have no idea how to track this in my Fitness tracker...can someone give me a clue? Do you consider it cardio (I know MY heart was pumping), or mileage (it is a 1 mile walk), strength training since you use the weights...I have no idea. I know I'd like to get "credit" for what I did!

Thanks!

My daughter just gave me Leslie's "Walk Away Your Hips and Thighs" video for Christmas and I Love It!

It comes with her newest resistance tool called a "Fit Cuff" that hooks around your ankles. This DVD is really 2 workouts in 1. There's a 2 mile power walk and a 20 minute resistance workout for the lower body.

I had to go through the resistance workout several times before I finally made it to the end, but now I love this DVD workout and it is the one I use most often.

I have a ton of her videos including her first Walk Away The Pounds. You can tell it's old because the editing was not very good. My favorite is the Walk Away The Pounds For The Abs that comes with a belt with bands attached to it. It really gives you a great workout. Did you know the Real Age website has 2 of her videos on their site? Just go to Workout videos to watch for free.

I just bought Walk & Firm with Interval Training and it came with a stretchie band. I bought mine at Sam's club for $13.88 and it came with two bands. I really like it! There's a bonus 1 mile walk included on the DVD also.

I have the 3-mile Express DVD and she uses the Stretchie band. I don't have it, so I improvise with 2 lb. dumbbells. It only uses the Stretchie for the last mile of the walk and even then, only for a couple of minutes. It wasn't enough for me to warrant buying one.

Do it for you. Don't ever quit.

I just bought WATP fat burning. I love it. However, it came with a free exercise band (stretchie) and none of the sessions used it. I was disapointed because I wanted to try the stretchie. I guess I'll have to buy another DVD- any suggestions for the best one to get that uses a stretchie?

I just tried another one of her 3 mile workouts, it's Walking At Home. It has a Palates emphasis and is somewhat different. It's a nice change up.

I just bought my first Leslie DVD a few weeks back and I love it! Thank you so much for all of these amazing descriptions -- already adding a bunch to my Amazon wish list!

I've got a lot of Leslie's old VHS workouts and new DVD's. I've got several with the "boosted walking" added. I actually get a great sweaty workout with those. I love Leslie's cheerful attitude. I workout at 4:30 am and her perkiness wakes me up and makes me smile.
