Katie, I am sorry for your loss, but you are right. You have to do this for yourself. Your mom would want you to take care of yourself and in doing that you will be around to take care of your daughter! I am glad you are equipped to get there, now it's time to get up and do it! Stay involved. That is key. Track your workouts and your nutrition. It's not always easy, but it is worth it!!!! If you have any questions, you can spark mail me anytime!!! So glad you are here!

Hi everyone...my name is Katie and I am once again restarting my weight loss goal. I have most of all of the WATP dvd's and I need to get back to doing them. I am married and I have a wonderful daughter who is 10 years old. After my mom passed away 2 years ago, I just let myself go. But I now realize that I am my life is getting worse because I have done that...I don't like to go out anywhere and do anything with my family because I am ashamed of what I look like. And I don't want to be ashamed of myself anymore

I would suggest taking at least one rest day. It can be any day you choose, but if you don't then your body will get to used to it.

Hi - I have been a fan of Leslie's for years as well - and I too have had vhs tapes of hers eaten! I got to my weight watcher's goal weight 3 years ago but due to some injuries fell off the wagon and now need to get it all back together. I am using this sight because I think that overall, it will give me better tools to succeed long term. I have not lost weight since I joined but I am more aware of my nutrition and health so I think it will begin to come. I restarted walking with Leslie 3 weeks ago and have been consistent. I have been doing Walk the Walk - 1 mile and will move on shortly. I really want the consistency and to see some improvement before moving on. I look forward to getting to know you all and spending time on the journey with you. emoticon

Welcome Barb!!! I know it's frustrating, but always put that to use of determination. It sounds like you really want this so I don't think you'll have a problem reaching your goals. However, always listen to your doctor. I think it's awesome that you have come so far and are staying the course and as your signature says, The Lord is your Strength and High Tower. He will sustain you and He will help you reach your goals. I just ran a 12.4 race and I couldn't hardly walk 2 weeks ago. The Lord healed my hip and leg problems and I got to run it!! I am looking to sign up for a 1/2 marathon in October, but let me tell you that 10 yrs ago, I could hardly walk without needing to sit during the workout because I smoked for a long time.
You will get there!! Time and patience. Let her have her perfect work!!! Blessings to you!

Hi, I'm Barb and am from east central Illinois, I have several of Leslie's dvds now. I started with one vhs and my player ate the tapeLOL At that time, I could do the entire routine and do other tapes besides. Serious health issues knocked me way out of the loop. I now do at least 30 min but that may only be in five to ten minute increments until I have to stop and go on the o2. I still do other things that are considered exercise but not what I was able to do a year ago. Since the middle of March I have gone from wearing o2 all the time to just a couple of times a week and that is if I over do. At that time I could not even walk 20 ft without help. I would like to get back to where I was and I started today. I am going to do no less than 10 min 3 times a day with Leslie. Each week I would like to increase it. I hope to increase at five min increments, but time will have to wait for that. I get disgusted with myself when I can't do what I know that I want to. I just received 3 dvds I ordered and one more is on its way. I am determined.

emoticon I am new to the team as well. So you have a newbie partner.... right now while the weather is not as hot I have been walking outside... hi guys. im angi from ohio. i have two of her videos 5 mile fat burning walk and ultimate 5 day walk plan. i have done the fat burning walk, but not the other one yet. i am hoping that these videos will build me up to 5 miles without feeling like i am dying. i am also running the couch to 5k plan three days a week.

Anything that helps you get healthy and stay that way applies here. I started out with Leslie and now I may go for a walk or run, but I also teach Turbo Kick and use P90X. Soon I will attempting Insanity. So it's whatever tool does the job. I walked with Leslie for 7 yrs before trying anything different so I would say that all of her workouts apply!

Walking with Leslie is a great workout, but also keep in mind that our eating habits effect our weight loss as well. It is a lifestyle not a diet or exercise program. So many of us have thought that only to find, as you are, that it is something needed for life. Not just a get quick fix deal. Good for you for coming back and sticking with it!! So glad you are a part of the team! Be sure to get involved in the places that you need to get the help you need when you feel like giving up! We are here for each other! That's what teams are for!

I found out about Leslie's WATP back in 2004, I absolutely loved her videos she is so motivating & upbeat. Whenever I felt like I didn't want to wlk and wanted to quit she would always say something in the video that inspired me to keep at it. By 2005 I was doing th e4 mile walk in the morning before work and at night. I saw some serious results and loved it. Of course over the years I became complacent and have gained weight back, so here I am walking again and I now realize that walking will be a part of my daily routine for the rest of my life.

Welcome to the team!!! You said it, eating well AND exercise is the key!! You can't succeed with just one!! I tried with just exercise and only got to 139 and couldn't budge. Now I am at 135 and only have inches to go since I have started really tracking my food and making healthier choices.
So good to reach that point!! Keep on going, you will get there!

Hello. I am a new member to this thread. I have been watching along though. I joined Spark 2 years ago and have been on a long journey since then. I started at 196. I am down to 146.6. I have plateaued for over four months now, but this week I went from 148 down to 146.6 since starting the WATP videos. I think my body needed the exercise in combination with diet to get me over this plateau as I have been mainly doing diet and have not exercised in quite some time. Thanks for creating this thread. emoticon

Hey everyone. I have recently started back with my Walk away the pounds DVD. I lost about 30lbs 7 years ago but have gained it back and more! I started back to working out and dieting Monday of this week. As of right now I am doing two miles a day. My current goal is 150lbs. I have attempted this many times but fail due to boredom and becoming discouraged.

Hiya,
I live in Holland 30 odd yrs, i come from UK...
I do walk away the miles on youtube..
I'm so grateful that they have it cus living on a budget i cant even buy dvd's
there are quite a few ones and i found one pilates from LS aswell its a really short & powerful one, planning to start that this coming week..
I havent done much this week so many things keep coming between..
Had an eye problem could not see out of one eye so tried not to pressure the good one.. turns out to be a chalazion.. and i still have quite a big bump.. hope it goes away...
Im planning to do alot of catch up tomorrow..

hello, my name is Annette and I do the walk away the pounds video's for the past week. it is one of my favorite workouts. I am able to do 2 miles at once however tomorrow I am going to strive to try to do 1, 2 & 3. usually by the end of mile 2 I am pretty tired. but I am gradually working my way up. I hope to meet many new people through my venture of losing weight. Thanks to these videos I have found that I am able to walk farther longer without getting wore out. living in florida where it is very hot is hard however I usually wait till around 9 pm to do my walking when it is not so hot

I am Henrie. I love the walk away weight loss program. I have quite a few of the
Videos. I have walked up to 7 miles. But I really love the ď walk slimĒ
Video the boosted walk segments makes the work out move along quickly. I recommend these videos
To anyone I can. Because I donít have to contort My body to do them I really think
They are super. And if I donít do it for a few days (thatís the old days)
I can just pick up and continue ..nothing to learn. I do at least 15 mins a day.
my waist line can be seen !!!...again...and that makes it worth getting up a little earlier

I'm Sarah, originally from Michigan but living in Green Bay, WI. I first discovered Leslie Sansone when I was in college and loved her from the beginning. I have many of her DVDs, but always seem to think I need more. I hate to admit it, but I haven't turned one on in over a year. I really think I'll have to get the Pilates DVD out soon. She just seems so real and motivating.

I'm Lisa, aka Psalmistld. I've been a fan of Leslie's for years, especially after any type of hiatus. Her workouts are so simple, I can use them to get me back into enough shape to tackle some of the harder workouts. I love the way she motivates without being obnoxious.

I just found this team.. I'm living in Holland originally from UK..
I found Leslie Sansone on youtube.. can't buy a dvd on my budget.. I found the 5 miles but the last mile with the cooldown i cant find.. so i do 2 or 3 miles and then a cool down from coach Nicole or the 2nd fat buster from LS has a short cooldown on it.. depending how i feel..
I havenot lost any weight since i found them a week ago.. but being a diabetic and strugling to keep healthy with my diet i don't worry.. It's good enough just to get my physique back in a healthy condition..I do have a slight twinge a my knee when i walk but i love walking so im walking through it... I'm so happy i found this on youtube.. I was doing video's from Coach Nicole and love the ones without equipment.. but now i combinate them each other day with LS...... I want to lose at least 50lbs.. but my first short time goal would be 10 kilo's aprox 20 lbs....I'm 57 yrs and am dedicated to this new lifestyle change & opportunity...

Hey Everyone,
New to the team, but not new to spark. Took me a LONG time and many, many attempts before I finally "got it"! One day, it just all came together and I love how losing each pound makes me feel sooooo much better!!!!

I love leslie's walks! I have like 15 different dvd's by her, which all have between 2 and 5 walks on each dvd....so I have many choices!

I also have been walking outside at the local track, or on my treadmill, or ride my stationary bike. I like to do different things, and sometimes combine things in different order to mix it up.

Just counting cals, and trying to eat more balanced, instead of just eating all carbs (which I love lol). Feel free to stop by my page. I love the different things on this team, like track your workouts, give a goodie, etc. Good luck to everyone!

Hi! I really like Leslie Sansone's dvds. I have quite a few, I just haven't used a lot of them for awhile. Well, no more! I'm starting to walk more now. I'm using those in conjunction with the 17 DD and I like what I'm seeing! Glad to be a part of the group!

Hello everyone! Just joined SP & the Walk Away The Pounds team today! I've been taking a look around the site and reading some of the messages on the message boards and am pleased to see how much support is being given to people on their journey towards becoming more healthy. I'm not familiar with the Leslie dvd's - but will look into them. I do have my walking shoes however and "try" to walk outside (weather permitting - I'm in Montreal!) or on the treadmill at the gym otherwise... Anyway, I'm happy to be here and want to say that it feels good to not have to do this alone! emoticon

Hi my name is Lisa & I turned 50 in January & this year I hit a new all time record weight of 280 lbs. I just joined spark people on Tuesday. I have a black cat named Miss Fang, one brother named Steven a nephew who is 31, one who is 22, a neice who turned Sweet 16 in Feburary & her sister who turned 14 a week later. Hi Everyone,
I am Donna from central Florida except in the summer we are in our cabin in the north GA mountains. I need an active team for support and this might be it for me. I walk an average of 45-60 minutes every day but Sunday. I also ride a stationary bike aiming for 20-30 minutes per day. I don't do the videos as I much prefer to be outside. I walk in any weather except thunder storms. Here's to more pounds gone!
