Hello there everyone.
My name is Kathi. I have been on SP for a couple of months now. I was doing really well with it and then for a couple of weeks just stopped. Getting back into it and have found that when I am challenged, I am more focused.

Hi I'm Judy. Joined this team a week ago but just had time to get here and introduced myself. I have been on Spark since May 2009. Haven't hit goal yet but not giving up. I have at least 40 pounds to lose. My first small goal is to get into the 170's which is 2.5 pounds.
I am 63 years old, work a full time job. I track my food and exercise here on Sparks.

Wishing you all luck with your goals.

My husband and I have been married 49. We have 4 kids all married, 9 granddaughters with 3 great granddaughters. There is a great granddaughter on the way. You read that right. 13 girls and no boys. I had lap band surgery in 2008, lost 75 lbs but gain 60 back. My goal is to get to 150 lbs but 3 dr said 180 for my build & age. I will do the 180 a month & if all is well may try to lose more. Have a Sparkling day!

Howdy. I've been with SparkPeople since Feb. 2017, I think. I joined when I decided to stop drinking alcohol, as a way to keep me from going off the rails. I am very happy to say I've been without booze for 534 days today. I lost a few pounds due to that and drinking way more water than I ever thought I could but I need little boosts here and there to keep my momentum going. I am currently working to get down to 190 (10 whopping pounds) before I think about the next 10. Small goals, right?

It's very tough for me to focus. I'm like: 'Look, something shiny! No, focus. Oh, there goes a butterfly!' Gabby Douglas

Just joined group. I rejoined spark people around a month and half ago with little success. I feel like I am at a plateau. Hoping the group will keep me on track and accountable.

I joined Sparkpeople under severe pressure from an ex-husband to "loose weight". I had dropped from 156 to 123 (not happy at that weight) in 4 months due to being in a domestic violence shelter and divorce from my abuser.

Fast forward in oh say about a 2 years: I am remarried to my best friend who just wants me to be healthy and happy. Since being away from my abuser I have to say that I gained alot of the weight back by a 50/50 mix of unhealthy and healthy eating habits. I'm now able to cook the way I want and it's a mix between paleo/whole food and clean eating.

I am now 175 (shark week is in and I usually gain about 2-3 lbs). I am wanting to get back to 140 in weight I was healthy and happy there. I then want to maintain it. The issue I have is my back and neck from the car accident and the fact that I am on a weight limit of picking up and carrying things at a 15lb. mark.

I joined SP in 2009. I lost 68 pounds, gained much back. Before Christmas 2017 I was 161. Now I'm between 168-170. My first priority is to get back to 161!!!!

Then I will continue my journey to 141. (The highest weight I can be and have a normal BMI.)

I will weigh-in here on this team's site. I have already joined a goal. I started an exercise streak 12 days ago.

I'm excited to be here.

Hi, I'm Cindy. I've been a member of Spark People for a couple years but hadn't been active on the site until this past January when I did the Realistic Resolutions Challenge. I had fun doing that challenge, checking in every day to see what the new goal was and reading the articles. Even though I didn't do any of the suggested goals I did start thinking about what steps I COULD take now that would help me towards my goal of a healthy life, and even started one or two of them. Then the Challenge ended and February came with a huge hit of family stress and the changes I was trying to make weren't strong enough yet to stick with me through the tough times. And I missed the excitement of looking to see what the challenge was for the day and if it would be one that I could do. So I started looking for a group that would go longer than a month and found you all, the Starting Over Team. I'm glad to be here.

Hi I'm Tammy, I've been a member of SparkPeople for years now. I was doing good, and lost 17 pounds, but I've gained it all back. Time to get it off again, and get down to my goal weight 125-130. I really need some motivation and I hope to motivate others as well.

Hi, I'm Jan and I, too, am looking for motivation, accountability and consistency. I've been on Spark people for 4 or so years now, but not consistently. I had lost about 65 pounds just prior to and a few months after joining and though I've managed to keep most of it off, I am constantly battling putting back on anywhere from 15-25 pounds and have decided that even though I'm not usually a "joiner", I need to start making myself more accountable when I start to slide. I do really well for a while and take the weight back off, but then "reward" myself by eating all the junk I've been cutting back on for so long! I know that I'm most successful when I track my food, but after I lose the weight, I tend to stop and before long the weight starts creeping up again. Time to break that cycle!

Hello! I just joined the team today and started the mini challenge. I am looking to stay on track with small attainable goals. I have always had the "lose 10 pounds by tomorrow" mentality and am ready to make a life change.

Good day to you all! I'm Diana (or SisterSue, or CrunChewy, or Ms. Magnolia) and I've been on Spark People forever, it seems. I recently had to take a month off so I could move across the country from Sacramento, California to New Orleans, Louisiana. I haven't been great about maintaining consistency, which would explain my lack of progress, but I'm ready to get back into the routine of it again and get on track. I'm going to reset all my stats since I really feel like I'm starting anew.

Hi Susan,
I'm in the same boat - I know I've been cheating too much and that my body has adjusted to my workouts/food. Hoping to kickstart something with added accountability. Need to get back off sugar/gluten for my thyroid & inflammation issues.

Hi!! I'm Susan. I have been working at weight loss (seriously) for over 5 years. Recently I have been gaining back weight even thought I still eat clean, exercise..etc... really getting frustrated and upset over this.. I have been through long periods of plateaus but this is really crazy... I am glad to be here to perhaps get the motivation or some kick in the butt to get back to a steady goal.

Hi!! I've decided to make myself accountable and figured this would be a good place to start!! Lost 40 lbs a few years back, and because of "emotional turbulence" I ate like it was my last day on Earth for a couple of years, and gained 25 lbs back. I want to go back, so let's get started!!!

Hi my name is Judy and I'm from Michigan in the summer and Florida in the winter. Did my first challenge this summer 5% one and really enjoyed the support I recieved. Had a very bad summer as my husband was in a terrible accident. I wanted to quit but my leaders encouraged me to stay. Read the article today and thought I would try it.

I love Spark people they are always there for me .
Enjoying life. God has been good to me.

Hey all!

What a great idea for a team! I tried to the 30 day skinny jeans challenge and then got sick and then discouraged and you know how it goes. But a week. I can live one week at a time for now.

Not new to Spark, just re-engaging post partum. Can't wait to work out with y'all!

HI! new to the team, not new to Spark -- been way off-track the last few months and don't want to wait til the new year to get going in the right direction
I really like the idea of a new start each week. I don't know if I really have any goals for the last month of the year - maybe to lose a couple of pounds would be awesome. Mostly I want to get back into exercising and starting to eat better again.
I look forward to getting to know you all emoticon emoticon

Hi all...I signed up for a healthy holiday pledge at work, and will definitely need mini challenges along the way to my sign out day (Jan. 15th). I get extra points that goes toward a lower health insurance premium if I can lose at least 5 % of my current weight. Yes...I can do it!
Lots of veggies, starches....and exercise.

Thank you for starting this group to support all of us..I hope to encourage any and all of you with your mini (and maxi) challenges. First stop: a healthy and grateful-filled Thanksgiving... :)

Hi, I'm Jen; just looking for a re-boot on what had started out with such good intentions a while ago! I'm ready to give my health a top priority spot finally! I hope this group will give me some motivation and kick my butt a little too ;)

Could someone tell me where to get one of those trackers that is in your signature please?

Hello. I'm Kathy. I've been a SparkPeople member for several years but have gotten away from the program. I recently returned from vacation, saw my vacation photo, and came to my senses that I need to feel better about my body by getting rid of some of the mid-life fat deposits around my midsection. This looks like a great place to start.

Hi all,
My name is Nilda. I am an old spark member coming back after a very rough patch. I have been very for most of my life, gained 52 during my pregnancy, lost it all a year after giving birth, then gained it all within the past few months. I was on my way to making my lowest weight in a while but depression and bad food decisions aided in gaining it all back. I'm here to try and lose it all and hopefully keep it all off this time. I look forward to getting to know people on the site and helping others lose weight too :)

Hello All!

My name is Rachel and I have tried to lose weight several times. Believe me, it does get harder as you get older. I am trying again and believe that this group will help me learn how to use all the tools that SP has to offer. I have just lost 11 pounds and am already feeling better. Yay me! 89 more to go.

Very blessed!

Hi, my name is Sheila. I'm 51. I've struggled most of my life with weight, been up and down I don't know how many times. I have kept about 60 lbs. off for over 10 years. I think I've finally figured some of this out. Need to keep on top of it so that I can get to my goal weight. I seem to have hit another set point in my body and it is tough to make it move again. Hoping to get another aha moment and get the scale moving again.

Hi my name is Tricia and I am 52 years old. I have always struggled with weight but recently have had some health issues which has caused me to gain weight. I am so glad to find a team with MC as I need them to stay focused. I lost 13 pounds this week so am very excited about that but need to do more to keep it going since I know it was mostly water weight. Thank you for having this team!!!

Hi my name Rachel. I'm 37 years old and have a constant weight issue for as long as I can remember. Some of it was from some medications I was on when I younger, some of it was the way I was eating in the past and some of it is from PCOS.

I will lose weight to where I am close to goal and then I gain about 20lbs. of it back. I'm not sure if it's PCOS or me. I know that I am not as active as I wish I could be and when it comes to me doing something I usually get told that there is cleaning I can do or I'm not active. That's another story....

I cook healthy meals, try to keep as much processed food out of my house ( like HFC), track and track and track. Honestly the tracking isn't it cutting it any more and need challenges to vamp me up and motivate me. I have lost positive weight that way.

I'm tired of being fat, unmotivated and well just tired. With the tired part not sure if it's me/ way of thinking or if it's the PCOS. I want to be healthy not just here as person. I also have no support at home so it makes it harder.

Hey everyone! Not sure if I ever made an actual introduction in this team, and if I already did, my apologies!

My name is Mary, I've struggled with my weight for years and have a LOT of trouble staying motivated and accountable. I joined this team right before I became inactive on the site (again), but I'm back and it's already helping me stay motivated with smaller challenges and easier goals :) In my spare time I do everything creative under the sun and I love nature!

Just joined today, been on and off on sparks but steady since Sept 2014. I am a co team leader of Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, and belong to sparks coach and a couple of others, They have all helped but I seem to need more because I am not meeting goals. I do exercise about 2-3 times a week, watch what I eat but could do better. I will say I am feeling better, healthy, stronger, sleep better but weight is something else, goes down then up like a roller coaster. Yesterday I decided to start over again. Running into this teamis a good sign. I am looking forward to small goals at a time.

Hi All,

I'm new to this group (joined yesterday) and have been off/on SparkPeople for several years now. I have encountered the often heard about post-menopausal weight gain and am struggling to get rid of it. I know I need to step up on the exercise, but I also need to get a better handle on my eating habits. I do really well during the day, but in the evening I typically blow it- a extra glass of wine or something sweet after dinner. I definitely need accountability and hope these mini-challenges will be the kick in the butt that I need. emoticon

Eliminate excuses and avoid procrastination! Just Do It!

Blessings to you all,
Kim

I'm super excited for summer, but just got into a mini-depression due to the fact that has been bothering me since my stepmom pointed it out in third grade- my weight. I told my mom how I felt, and she showed me this. Now I'm back on my feet, and I'm really excited to have a wild summer, a cute swimsuit, and best of all: My confidence back! emoticon emoticon emoticon

My name is Raquel and I am back on SP after having a baby. I hit my goal weight and then gained it again after I got pregnant. I breastfeed my son which made it hard to start any kind of weight loss plan but now he is 1. So I am ready to restart and get back to my goal

Enjoy the journey.. it is a ride worth taking!

Good morning! I saw this team on a couple of my spark friends page and thought it looked like fun. I'm in the last week of the Fall 5% challenge and going into the holidays I want to be with a team that wants to support each other through the holiday season with continuing healthy habits.

Hey group, my name is Nicole. I have been on and off of SP for years but I need to really step up and lose this weight. I will be 31 tomorrow and married a yr next week and I am ready to start a family. However my doctor told me it would be very dangerous to have a child now due to my current healthy. I wanted to just cry when she had told me this. We have been trying and I just do not know how possible it is at this moment. I love that there is a mini challenge forum. I feel like this is achievable for me.

Hi, Carolyn here, it's not funny that people like you, I, and many others too often listen to the stupid part of our brain. I always tell everybody I am a fat pig, I noticed you put a pig as your image. You are a person with flaws, like all of us. It's time to stand up to the monsters inside our brains and make a decision that will make us have happier thoughts and the motivation to follow thru. Be happy. Be healthy. Envision the new, delicious person you want to be. Spend each day without any guilt. Smile, be kind and praise your positive actions.

Hi there. I'm Rachel. I joined Sparkpeople a few years ago, but haven't used it as much as I should. I have a terrible habit of trying to take on more than I can actually handle so I'm hoping mini- challenges will keep me in line.
