Welcome to the challenge MICIASHAKIRA. I am just getting started with it too.

I'm Jeri. I have been a member of sparkpeople for over 10 years, on and off, but mostly off. I am approaching my first full month of checking in every day, logging my exercise and (most) of my food.

I downloaded the pdf booklet from Vionic. There are some really neat ideas I am looking forward to trying. In case some of you have not seen it, there is a 12 month schedule to increase your walking from zero to a little jogging. My normal is to walk my dog 30 min every morning- about 1.3 miles. Month 3 starts there, but adding in "bursts" of faster walking for 1 min at a time. Now to find an app that will help me know when a minute is up, or I may stop short and will forget to start again.

Day 1 of this challenge. I am hoping that this challenge will help me create a habit of exercising. If I can make it half way, then I know I'm all in for the 30.

Anything important in our lives is going to require effort and discipline.

My daughter and I are going to work together to lose weight. She has some disabilities with a hip replacement, rod in her right thigh and reconstructed right ankle, but she gets stronger every single day. She gained weight because of it and I gained weight from quitting smoking after my second oldest son passed away 3 years ago. So we're going to work through this together. I'm glad to be here. emoticon

Hi , I am new to this team

I am starting a journey , I want to find myself ,find my courage , find the person , I know I am and I was meant to be , I want to walk everyday free of pain and shame and I want to feel good without this extra skin , extra weight ,or this folds of skin that sweat like crazy , I want to smile more and set small goals and reach them , it is time to stop been afraid of my weight , and how I look and feel, I know I can do it and I know I will do it by next year I will be a smaller version of me .

Hi everyone,

I have been back with Spark People now for 2.5 years and have been maintaining since October of 2014. I had surgery 6 weeks ago giving my son my right kidney and I have been curtailed from doing fitness for several months. I am a runner and can start back until January 1st.but until that time I can at least power walk and I love going long distances.

I have gained about 2 pounds during my healing and been a bit side tracked with eating but I am determined to get back and stay on track so I can once again be as healthy as possible.

IT is easy sitting still and not doing fitness when you are used to it on a daily basis but January 1st will be here before I know then I can can get back to it full force (starting slowly)

I am 64 years old and a retired nurse, married almost 40 years and have 2 grown sons and 2 grown daughters with 4 grandchildren that are also grown with the youngest being almost 17 and the oldest is 22.

I love o travel, run, half marathons, read and spend time with my family as much as possible as well as with my 3 dogs and 3 cats .

Good luck to all during this challenge and thank you for the inspiration to always do the best.

Hi everyone! Although I have been a Spark member for a few years, I drifted away. Thankfully the current brought me back :). I have had a significant weight loss over the last couple of years, but still have a ways to go and have been at a standstill for several months.
