Hi everyone, I am 61 years old, retired and ..... not always where I want to be emotionally. The depression is not related to being retired. I do think it is connected to my being overweight and eating badly (sugars, carbs, etc). So I hope to get some motivation, encouragement and thoughts from you as time passes. I have been a SparkPeople person for 1 week now and it really is a positive experience.

I will turn 60 this summer and we are going cross country in an RV. I had been a lifetime Weight Watchers member, but with no convenient location, I dropped out and put on some weight. Not a good excuse. So I will stay accountable here. Today was a lazy, overeating day and I decided to join up and not let it get out of hand. I know at my age and with my family history, it's important to take extra good care of myself. Here I go...

hi, my name is Bev. over the last 3 years I have lost my Mother, Brother and just recently my wonderful Husband. Seems like I have been everyone's care giver. Now it is time for me.
I have gained a lot of weight. I need to get it off. I had a knee replacement in 2010. my other knee is starting to hurt like that one did before the surgery.
back then the dr told me for every 1 pound of weight I lost it took 4 pounds of pressure off of my knees. So, guess my body is telling me to do something about it.

Hi, my name is Theresa, I am here because I need help, with my lack of and not starting everything that will keep me healthy, and fit. I have all the excuses in the world why I can't workout or eat right. Which works by the way. Now I stop the excuses, and dive into this program to assist me in my journey. I love to read, watch anime, and work my laptop and working out when I do it. Thank you.
